DesonEQ
Dual spec, as far as I know, didn't exist in MMOs when this game was first being developed. What was being used was an increasing cost to change a spec. There are pros and cons to both systems and dual spec will still (or should) inherit the established respec cost system of increasing costs to change one of the specs. Ultimately it's up to the community as a whole to show whether they will accept dual spec as enough among other concerns some may have. EQ2 had it. Rift development was talking about it for a while, certainly long enough before release to be a launch consideration. For AAA MMO's before the development started, there was also a lot more flexibility in skill point design.
