I took 20% armor off myself and it was a 3% mitigation difference.. I figure even a rifle shot will do 3% damage so whats the point? Am I just missing something here? llegendre Posted February 8, 2012 Share Posted February 8, 2012 In PvP, definitely not.. 20% armor might seem like a lot, and while it does increase the damage to the target, it's not enough to justify it since the person is going to die long before you notice the difference. I use it in long boss fights however pretty often, as it increases the damage your whole raid does to the boss. The Armor to Mitigation formula isn't linear, so a reduction in armor does not directly lead to the same increase in damage. Since shatter shot does such poor damage, I'm not sure it pans out in the end. Giving up a snipe for a shatter shot already puts you in the hole. W/o a log, it's been too much of a hassle to try to figure out what the break point is for me at this point. Shadmode Posted February 9, 2012 Share Posted February 9, 2012 i use it when repositioning in mm build in pvp. at least i do something and energy isnt an issue as mm. so i prefer to use it instead of powershot or rifleshotbut not when beeing in cover and putting out damage. Gelna Posted February 11, 2012 Share Posted February 11, 2012 Also good for trying to squeeze out a bit more damage for the 5k damage in 1 hit medal I use Shatter shot + Trinkets & Adrenal ---> Ambush Usually how i get the 5k Hit, since Takedown doesn't usually work (Must do 5k damage -- Takedown can report a 5k hit, but if the target had 3k life, it doesn't count) Otherwise, I only use Shattershot on ball carriers, healers, and if i'm moving to set up a burst volley on someone Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
