FosgateElite
So I’m building mods in cybertech, and I'm torn on what would benefit a sniper more, Aim or Cunning. Aim seems hard to come by which makes me think that it would end up being better... I tried to compare stats but the stats don’t summarize very well. Karaokelove
I haven't seen any hard numbers, but from I gather from other threads, it seems like Cunning outclasses Aim in every respect, at least for an Imperial Agent.
Oawa
Cunning is the primary stat for IA's. Aim....would give you a very minor bonus if any.
FosgateElite
You would think Cunning would be better for the Operative and Aim for Snipers. I'm interested in getting some better details. I want to make sure I'm outfitting my weapons correctly.
Oawa
Aim is the primary stat of BH's and Troopers. Cunning is the primary stat of IA's and Smugglers.
FosgateElite
So in other words, if you had to choose between +5 Aim and +5 Cunning, you would take Cunning in a heartbeat...

However it seems ironic that the Sniper doesnt need Aim ;-)
Cathbacca
Why would a sniper need aim? we have a scope!
BassDeluxe
Also worth mentioning, the reason you have trouble coming across Aim is because the quest rewards tailor to your class. For example, a Bounty Hunter would have trouble coming across Cunning but find Aim easy to get. The only reason Aim would come up in a quest reward for you is if the reward is meant to be for Kaliyo. (Aim is her primary stat)
Octaus
The funny thing is that on endgame gear a MM sniper, due to diminishing return from cunning critical chance, would benefit almost the same from aim.
Diriana
Another thread was made on the front-page of IA forum: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=11258After a bug-fix since beta, we benefit more from cunning than aim.
Infalliable
So I’m building mods in cybertech, and I'm torn on what would benefit a sniper more, Aim or Cunning. Aim seems hard to come by which makes me think that it would end up being better... I tried to compare stats but the stats don’t summarize very well. The gear you can use and the stats on it are matched so that they're optimal for your class (barring some items that can be used by multiple classes...such as medium armor). As an agent, most of the gear you find will be cunning/endurance. This is good. It is what you want. Cunning effects every damage/healing related stat in a positive way. Cunning is the better choice. Aim provides some benefit to ranged damage. It's not totally worthless, but cunning is much better.
