No, for balance reasons. It's an instant-cast spammable ranged ability with no cooldown. If the range is extended, it will be easy to gun people down who are > 10m from you on the run. I'd like a damage boost on it though, making Front Line defence add a bit more than 3% per rank would be a nice way of bringing Tactics closer to an actual dps tree.
