InquisitorJaeger
This post is mainly for Australians and New Zealanders. As you're watching the prequels, you always notice more and more Aussies and Kiwis, so I thought I'd make a list. If you know of any other actors, or interesting "Star Wars Australian and New Zealand" facts, then add them to this list. We all know that Episode III was filmed (almost) entirely in Australia at Fox Studios in Sydney. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Wars_Episode_III:_Revenge_of_the_Sith So here's a list of the actors; Temuera Morrison - New Zealander http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Temuera_Morrison played Jango Fett http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Jango_Fett and Commander Cody http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Commander_Cody Daniel Logan - New Zealander http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daniel_Logan played Boba Fett (young) http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Boba_fett Joel Edgerton - Australian http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joel_Edgerton played Owen Lars (young) http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Owen_Lars Rose Byrne - Australian http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rose_Byrne played Dormé http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Dorm%C3%A9 Jay Laga'aia - New Zealander http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jay_Laga%27aia played Captain Typho http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Captain_Typho Jack Thompson - Australian http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_Thompson_(actor) played Cliegg Lars http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Cliegg_Lars Leeanna Walsman - Australian http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leeanna_Walsman played Zam Wesell http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Zam_Wesell Bruce Spence - Australian http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bruce_Spence played Tion Medon http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Tion_Medon Susie Porter - Australian http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Susie_Porter played Hermione Bagwa http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Hermione_Bagwa Keisha Castle-Hughes - New Zealander http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keisha_Castle-Hughes played Queen Apailana http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Apailana Rena Owen - New Zealander http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rena_Owen played Taun We http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Taun_We Alethea McGrath - Australian http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alethea_McGrath played Jocasta Nu http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Jocasta_Nu Marton Csokas - New Zealander http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marton_Csokas Poggle the Lesser http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Poggle_the_Lesser Matt Sloan - Australian & New Zealander http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matt_Sloan played Plo Koon http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Plo_Koon Wayne Pygram - Australian http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wayne_Pygram played Grand Moff Tarkin (young) http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Grand_Moff_Tarkin Christopher Truswell - Australian http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christopher_Truswell played Gilramos Libkath http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Gilramos_Libkath Bonnie Piesse - Australian http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bonnie_Piesse played Beru Whitesun Lars (young) http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Beru_Whitesun_Lars Mimi Daraphet - Australian http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mimi_Daraphet played Bultar Swan http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Bultar_Swan
Fyurii
Considering that Episodes 2&3 were predominantly filmed in Sydney, the chances of Australian and New Zealand actors appearing is not exactly unusual. It's like Episode 1 and the Original Trilogy being loaded with British actors, and not just as Imperials either... Lots of filming done in Britain at Elstree Studios, use the cheaper local acting pool. Same thing happened with AoTC and RoTS.
mervotron
It does amuse me knowing that Rose Byrne and Keira Knightley played handmaidens to Natalie Portmans character.

Yep I understand why they did it but I still find it interesting to see how many Australians and New Zealanders were part of the cast and crew for the three Prequels. Fyurii
Yes I understand why they did it, I find it interesting to see how many Australians and New Zealanders were part of the cast and crew for the three Prequels. Two. Episode 1 was British actors instead of Australian & New Zealand actors. Hugh Quarshie - Captain Panaka Ralph Brown - Ric Olie Oliver Ford Davies - Sio Bibble Keira Knightly - Sabe Terence Stamp - Supreme Chancellor Valorum Brian Blessed (GORDON'S ALIVE) - Boss Nass Lewis Macleod - Sebulba Andy Secombe - Watto Celia Imrie - One of the Naboo pilots during the space battle at the end Even Plo Koon was a different actor under the make up in Episode 1, Alan Ruscoe. Fyurii
You forgot Ray Park who was born in Glasgow. He played Darth Maul !!! Well in that case, I also forgot Ewan Mcgregor, Ian Mcdiarmid, and Peter Serafinowicz (voice of Darth Maul), Anthony Daniels, Kenny Baker, and pretty much ever other well known Prequel Trilogy character who was played by a British actor. I would have added Liam Neeson, but I can't remember if he's from Norther Ireland or Republic of Ireland.
Crompton
Warwick Davis played Wicket cause Kenny Baker fell ill
Fyurii
Wicket wasn't in the Prequels, but Warwick Davies was. Also, Kenny Baker was R2-D2. In all the movies, except for ridiculous CGI sections of him flying...
InquisitorJaeger
So judging by these lists, it seems that only about 3 Americans appeared in any of the Star Wars films?

Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford, Billy Dee Williams, Natalie Portman, Hayden Christensensensensen, Samuel L Jackson, George Lucas, Jett Lucas, what's-her-name Lucas his daughter, Christopher Malcolm (Rogue 2 in ESB, though his own american accent was dubbed over with another voice & accent), Garrick Hagen, William Hootkins, the guy who was Red Leader in the first film............. Plenty of American actors, they were just outnumbered by British and British Commonwealth actors. Yes, the British Commonwealth is the backbone of the Star Wars movies:p
