FloydasaurusRex
I just hit 30 and I'm beginning to have a mess of skills to use. I have the secondary skill bar set up to Shift+1 through = Primary 1 - Assault 2 - Sundering Assault 3 - Vicious Slash 4 - Smash 5 - Disruption 6 - Force Choke 7 - Chilling Scream 8 - Force Push 9 - Endure Pain 0 - Saber Ward - - empty = - Channel Hatred Secondary 1 - Retailation 2 - Force Scream 3 - Ravage 4 - Force Charge 5 - Taunt 6 - Backhand 7 - Unleash 8 - Empty 9 - Enrage 0 - Invicible - - Guard = - Heroic Moment In general, I'm comfortable hitting 1-6 accurately in battle and shift+ 1-4 semi accurately without paying attention. My rotation is mostly: (rage in parentheticals) Enrage (6)> Force Charge (9)> Smash (6)> Force Scream (2) > Ravage > Force Choke something (5) > Retaliation whenever available (4) > Maybe a backhand or Vicious Slash So... I really am just curious how people set their bar up so that I can figure out what the most efficient method for placement is. I'd like quick access to force charge, retailation, taunts and Disruption but beyond that I'm up for ideas.
JLeezy
I too go with the shift 1 through = for bottom as well...however for the OTHER spells that you need to use that cn'at be put in your two bottom bars, I use the keybinding panel to change the LEFT QUICKSLOT bars... Assuming you have a 5 button mouse (most are) start getting used to using your mouse buttons and Shift Mouse button commands.....I.E I have mouse button 5 for saber throw and Shift 5 for the other saber throw (20% health below one- forget the name ...sorry) On my operative I have my hots as shift scroll mouse down......quick and easy way to get htos up on multiple targets etc.... Mouse buttons plus whatever KEY you feel comfortable with (sounds like shift) and start using them in your rotation....by the time you hit 50, it should feel like clockwork. Kallti
You haven't used Q, E, R, T, F, C, X, Z and the shift counter-parts yet? Do it.
UnlimitedPowuh
As I keep gaining new skills I've had to adjust my setup. I typically keep all of my single target attacks grouped together on bottom quickslot 1-6 and then my AOE's, interrupts and finishers on bottom quickslot 2. I do keep Call on the Force and medpack on quickslot one but most of my other defensive CD's, forms, buffs and vehicle etc. on right quickslot bar and then keybind them. For w/e reason I just don't like reaching for 7-= so I tend to use a-h and v, c, b, t, r and such for keybinds associated with defensive CD's and interrupts so I can do them without searching for the key. For example Saber Ward keybound to V, and Invincible to Shift+V. Retaliation to F, Disruption to Shift+F. This method allows me to use combat abilities dynamically as needed and still keeps my old arthritic fingers close enough to use my other cds without losing my place (kind of like typing home keys A-S-D-F and J-K-L-. Tourniquett
I got away with 1 through 9 when I played MMO's that didnt have more frquently used skills than that. With this game though, I cant comfortably go to the right of #4, if I plan on using my ALT key. (I dont like contorting Mah fingahs...) Try this if you want an option.. 1-4 most commonly used keys, Q, W, E,R for other offensive abilites that you also use commonly use. THen go ALT +1, through Alt+4, and finally Alt+Q, ALT+W, ALT+E, and ALT+R for use F1 - F3 for emergency/rare stuff (medpacs, adrenals, Unleash, etc) This way you use alot of the same keys, but dont have to reach far.. The only thing I hate is that the "windows" key is right next to my left ALT button, so hitting that by mistake and takijg focus out of game makes for a new unwanted mechanic I think its time for the old screwdriver trick to pop that key off the keyboard.. FloydasaurusRex
I went ahead and changed mine last night before crashing in bed. I now use 1-5, shift 1-5, qerfc, shift qerfc and the mouse buttons Basically, I unbound my turn left and right keys and moved strafe left and right to them since I never turn with the keyboard (FPS player). I bound Q to Force Charge and R to Smash, with E as Scream. F is Retailation and C is Backhand. Shift + Q is Force Throw, E is Choke, R is Enrage, F is pommel strike Mousewheel up and down are change targets prev and next. Alt+mousewheel is camera zoom. Shift+up and down are select friendly targets Mousewheel click is steamy regen. Mouse 4 and 5 are Taunt and Threatening Scream Tab gets me out of roots. Shift + space throws the huttball <--Honestly my favorite decision. Next to mwheel selection. I looked into the naga, damn that's a fine looking mouse. I'll stick with my MX518 though until I can justify the cost It's going to take me a level or so to get used to it, but it already feels WAY more comfy than before. Maybe it's the fps player in me, having bound a load of keys around esdf... wait... I should move my movement to esdf and open up qaz.... maybe later, but it looks like this is plenty of binds for now
