jediabiwan
Looks like for some reason Bioware decided to revert back to how the lightsabers looked in beta. This would have been the right choice, but they chose the wrong build. For some reason they decided to go with the version of the build where green lightsabers really weren't green at all but actually yellow lightsabers in disguise! Some Screenshots of the new yellow-green: https://live.staticflickr.com/7016/6723058145_4baed87c11_b.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/7175/6723057989_577ecb65a1_b.jpg Compared to the perfect-looking blue: https://live.staticflickr.com/7021/6723058555_a6fd498211_b.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/7173/6723058279_9b5e44be75_b.jpg Note: The green glow in the green lightsabers causes them not only to look very yellow, but makes them look much thicker and more solid than the blue lightsaber and other sabers. Please Bioware, fix green lightsabers. And I don't mean make them look how they looked at launch, that was horrible too. Bring back the days where they looked like this: http://www.starwarstheoldrepublicholonet.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/Confirmed-Star-Wars-The-Old-Republic-races-2011Miraluka-Mirialan-Rattataki1.jpg or even more recently this: http://www.swtor.com/media/screens/jedi-shadow Edited January 19, 2012 by jediabiwan

This was brought up in another thread of how blue and green look in the films: http://0.tqn.com/d/scifi/1/0/H/5/0/-/LightsabersEP2-IA-67651_R_8x10.jpg Green is not yellow! Aradain
The yellow to green looks good to me. Color-wise, green warms to yellow, not white. Even if you open that photo from the movie in photoshop and sample the lightest color in the green lightsaber, you'll see it is part of a yellow palette. I think yellow to green, in the palette they are using for the artwork in the game, is quite effective and just looks "right". Of course, in the end, it's subjective. I happen to like the way it looks. Edited January 19, 2012 by Aradain
Revenaught
The yellow to green does not look good to me at all. It makes the blade look fat and inelegant. I propose the addition to the game of a yellow/green cyrstal that keeps the current look and a pure green crystal that has the prefered look for myself and others. On a side note the patch today did clean up the fuzzyness of the green/yellow sabers in my opinion.
Clova
Well, green is an offshoot of yellow, while blue is a primary color so it wont look like a mixture of others like green does. So, in my head, makes perfect sense to me! Edited January 19, 2012 by Clova

Thargrim
I do think, aside from colors. The blades currently in game look too fat, too solid, too stubby and I think SWG had better sabers in some way.
jediabiwan
If you look closely, the green lightsaber in that picture has a yellow core, just like the ones we have in game. Eh, kinda, but its not obvioulsy two different colors like the lightsaber currently in game and just barely transitions to a slightly yellowish green near the core. But the lightsabers do clearly have the same thickness and intensity of glow. The green lightsaber in this screenshot: https://live.staticflickr.com/7175/6723057989_577ecb65a1_b.jpg has a very intense glow and looks very thick (unlike in the movie) compared to this blue lightsaber: https://live.staticflickr.com/7173/6723058279_9b5e44be75_b.jpg which looks bery similar to the one in the movie. The yellow and orange lightsabers also look far too bright with most other lightsabers looking pretty good. KelbornX
I agree that there's too much yellow in it. It make sense for there be some (the blue fades into cyan in the middle), but not that much. Edited January 19, 2012 by KelbornX

Sai-to
I agree. Just like the Blue goes from dark blue, to light blue, to white, Green should do the same. It should be: Green >> light green >> white. Just like it's Blue counterpart. That being said, the yellow is tolerable, but just not as good. So, in my head, makes perfect sense to me! Uhm, contrary to what you mislearned in first grade, the primary colors of light are red GREEN and blue. yellow is a primary pigment color, not a primary light color. And these are LIGHTsabers. that being said, yeah, the core of the movie saber is yellow... a very *very* light yellow. RG&B get above 200 before it gets noticeably yellow. More offwhite than yellow. (though admittedly, all along the scale there's a smidge more R than B, and the difference remains fairly constant.
jediabiwan
Look here: Green Lightsaber Your point? That looks nothing like what we have in-game if you look at the screenshots I posted. I'm not asking for a dark green lightsaber, merely one that is obviously one color like the ones in the movies and doesn't look twice as fat as the other sabers. I'm can live with a yellowish-green saber the huge problem is that it causes this efffect, I see what you mean, theres too much bloom in the core of that saber...the glow looks too intense because of it. This causes the glow to look like its part of the white core...and not a glow. Edited January 19, 2012 by jediabiwan

jediabiwan
/agree While some colors in tor like yellow, green, and orange are not very well done, I feel that the majority of colors look very good an similar to those in the movies. Why can't bioware be consistent tho? If games like star wars galaxies, jedia outcast, and even kotor have lightsabers that all have the same thickness and intensity of glow despite their color, whey can't TOR so many years later do the same thing?? JediMasterRevan
If there are people that still like the Yellow-green shade then make that a seperate crystal from "green" bring the green glow, green mid and white core back. This was actually in the Designing the Lightside trailer. The main reason this is a huge deal to me is A. This is a long term game, and a small thing that would bother someone not able to use they're prefered color, would have a long term effect on ones experience. B. I'm just so confused how they went from "perfect" green in the trailers, to non perfect.

Sure it is just a small thing, but it has a big impact on my star wars experience, and I notice it almost every single time I play. And it just boggles my mind how they could have the perfect version of the color right in front of them from the very beginning and and change it at the last minute. This isn't a feature they just didn't have time for and left out, or even a feature that was somehow negativity affecting the game. They had a perfect version, and then just took it out. Why Bioware, why????
