When i pug fronts i consitently pull between 70k-100k protection rotate guard and do my job. But the mvp system is a joke, dont matter how much tank you put into it some clown that runs around aimlessly doing some dps gets the votes or a healer could just for throwing out a hot. Cant tell you how many times this happens. do people pay attention to the stats? prolly means nothing but some people have no clue or its just vote for the friend thing. My whine of the day. Ever since I started pvping at lvl 15 I rarely get anything less than 6 medals, and usually end up with 8-10 without breaking a sweat. It's even worse in PvE...I mean really, in one of those other MMOs, who checks 'healing done' or 'hps'...other than healers... Doesn't mean you aren't doing an awesome job, can only vote for one. UncleJimbo Posted January 16, 2012 Share Posted January 16, 2012 Well, i do not know about you, but on good days I can pull about 10 medals in warzones. It is not often, but when you end up in a group of smart players all win more than 8 medals. I am Assault Specialist, but I use Ion cell and guard the healer/ball carrier and sometimes the squishy that is being focused down by an IA. Always try to keep in mind that it is better to have 2 people at 50% doing damage than 1 at 100% and with this thought process guard people near you to help out and mitigate some of their damage. Also use the taunt in PvP like crazy and you'll see rewards rolling in (of course I'm talking about medals here). About the MVP, there is no need to always be the healer (I usually help out those with low medal count) because the PvP system rewards healers. I think the MVP should go to those that help out with objectives: the defender that stood to guard an objective point for 15 min and saw no action, it should also go to the player that stopped an enemy from capturing a node or for stealing a node when the situation was dire and helped turn the game around. I always look for the healer and protect it or make the enemies focus on me so me teammate's can go for the objectives. Offcourse it works better or worse from time to time but i think it safe to say i get a mvp arou nd 80% of the time. Think it has to do with the PPl. Why do you need recognition from a system you declare as a joke? You know you're doing your job right, people in vent will know you're doing your job right. My guildies will announce they're voting for me after a run, even though I'm nowhere near top DPS, and nowhere near top protection (I main a shadow atm, levelling a VG). I still hit the taunt when im in a group, and it helps. MVP votes mean nothing. If they aren't voting for highest damage/healing, they're voting for a friend. MVP means MOST VALUED PLAYER so give it to the BEST Healer BEST DD BEST Tank not the second. I personally give my MVP EVER the best Healer becouse they mostly have max 3-6 Medals. I as a Tank have 10-14 Medals every BG an i get a lots of MVP becouse i am mostly best Tank and best DD. So when somebody has to cry becouse of MVP this should only do the healers. No-one ever noticed them on any of my servers over 7 years. Two of my good friends were full-time healers and felt the same. Actually, if you're looking at it from a tank's perspective, he's not entirely wrong. If I queue with a group of friends/guildies, whoever got the least amount of medals gets the vote. If I queue solo, the healer(s) get my vote. Lirethion Posted January 19, 2012 Share Posted January 19, 2012 (edited) I am like alot of people in the fact I don't care how many MVP votes I get because I look at my protection numbers and see if I was doing my Job......I give my vote to whoever has the highest heals or the Highest protection..... Granted the High protection for me comes because my wife is a healer spec commando and I am a shield spec tank so we can sit on a Node and hold it or make atleast 5 people come after us from the other team so that my team can plant the bomb in void star or sneak up on them in alderaan... we are not level 50 and truly dreading the 50 crunch when we get there.....Those people that see us tank remember us later on and remember we are hard as hell to kill that for me is the most fun just thinking about the look on their face when they see your name pop on the screen and they are like FU** him/her again this is going to be a BIT** hey Joe/jane come help me with this tank PLEASE. @UncleJoe The Rabbi is looking for you ((best Movie ever)) Edited January 19, 2012 by Lirethion Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
