I'm not very proficient with computers so I'm wonderin if there will be any conflict or compatibility issues with what I have. Also I'm gonna be in need of some cooling so if anyone has any ideas thats not to expensive I'll appreciate it. Criticism or improvements are welcome. All these parts come to a total of 994$ plus I need to include shipping. Oh one more thing, would it be worth it to add another 6850 video card for crossfire? Thx to anyone who replies

That all should work fine together.

How many monitors are you running? If you only have one, then one 6850 should be fine. But if you got the extra cash and want a little more "uummpphh", then grab a second 6850.

As far as cooling, do you mean for the CPU?

If so:

Cheap and decent.

And don't forget Windows (64 bit).

Edit: now that I see the card....that thing is powerful and would easily run 2 or 3 monitors....don't really think you would need a second, unless you want that extra little something.

The second 6850 for crossfire is situational due to the micro stuttering between having both cards but if you want the power go for it. But the ACTUAL video card, you can find the same model number but a different type because incase you're running on like 3 monitors, eyefinity isn't needed so you can get a basic version of the 6850.

Well, here is my rig. My stuff was expencive at the time but it runs the game great with no issues at all.

Note that I am playing on a 28' monitor at 1920x1200 resolution running everything on full settings with FPS at 65+ at all times. I will list the prices that they were at the time of purchase, july 27th of last year now.

Case: Cooler Master HAF X Blue Edition $209.98 (It came with all of the fans except one and all were blue instead of one red one. That includes shipping)

CPU: Intel Core i7 2600k $314.99

Motherboard : EVGA P67 FTW $239.99

PSU: Cooler Master Silent Pro Gold Series 1000W $199.99

GPU: EVGA Superclocked GTX 560 (Im getting a second one of these but for now, one runs battlefield on full settings with no issues) $204.99

RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Desktop Memory Model F3-10666CL7D-8GBXH $79.99

Windows 7 home primium x64 OEM $99.99

Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Paste $11.99

Cooler Master Megaflow 200 Blue LED Case Fan $21.99

TOTAL PRICE: $1368.89 (This price was back in july, I believe some of my parts are probably less expencive now.)

Please note that this system already had a seagate 500gb 7200 RPM HDD that was recently upgraded to this

Western Digital VelociRaptor WD1500HLHX 150GB 10000 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive

(My computer is not finished as I still need to purchase a CPU Cooler and a second graphics card.)

Awsome!! Thank u guys so much. I spent all day at work goin over these things and was dyin to get home to ask ur opinions. I'm just runnin one monitor so I'll just stick with one video card for now. Can always add another later. Thank you for the links to the cooling stuff and yes I was wondering what i can use to cool the CPU. So I dont need to go with the HIS brand video card with only one monitor? What other make should i go with then? Any cash saved is a plus with me

Honestly I put together a budget build at newegg for $650 that runs max settings, shadows off, just fine.

One thing to do to make sure everything is compatible is start with the motherboard, or cpu. Go to the website for whichever part you are choosing, and they will have a list of all the compatible parts for them. I built mine off the motherboard so I went to the ASUS site and it gave a long list of every processor and memory that is compatible.

Oh, and I'm using the intel onboard graphics at the moment just to further elaborate the cheapness of my build. :D

Well as you can see, my rig was close to top of the line back in july. And it was under your budget.

I suggest going the intel/Nvidia model as apperently both of those work together better then ANI and intel.

I would have done that but I NEEDED to run swtor AND battlefield 3 on max settings :)

Wow all these numbers are so confusing, rly with the video cards. Thx for all your inputs. I'm gonna have to put more thought into this I guess. For 1k-1.5k I dont wanna just buy random parts that dont match up well. I thought an HD 6850 was almost one of the best ATI video cards?

Looks good to me but i'd probably go with a nvidia gtx560ti for a mid range card over the amd offerings. 6850 is quite underpowered for a budget build.

CPU cooler wise if you wanna go all out get a noctua nh-d14 its massive and cools like a beast but because of this you can run it really quiet!

The 6850 is fine.
