  1. Ya the Act 2 quick travel reward bugged it. I tried leaving and coming back on my ship and it fixed it. Let this be a bug report to you Bioware. Please allow us to use the quick travel reward since it was a nice way to get back to Coruscant fast. Instead it turned into a super long "extra travel"
  2. Operation Talon: Level 41 Quest given by General Garza I've completed the entire quest and it has told me to return to Coruscant to talk to General Garza in the senate tower. However, when I got to Coruscant using the Act II quick travel reward I cannot talk to general Garza. The phase indicator is Green but when I walk into the room General Garza does not have an icon on her head. I cannot talk to her and I cannot finish the quest. Also, on my map it actually doesn't point me in the direction of General Garza's room when I have the quest tracked. It points me downtown in some random room with no quest icon in it or phase indicator. Something is wrong or the quick travel reward from Phase II has messed it up. I cannot continue past this quest in the phase This is 9/26/12 New update 1.4
  3. Anybody download and try these yet? I've been running the 290 beta drivers for some time now, and I just saw these updated drivers on the Nvidia website. Just wondering if anybody has seen any kind of performance upgrade for SWTOR in particular with them.
  4. I'm at a friends house right now, will be home in a few hours to get some screenies up for ya
  5. Good deal, thats just another person added to the list running a newer processor thats NOT having any issues, I guess my point is even tho bioware says that minimum requirements to run the game is a dual core doesn't mean that the game will run at 60fps. As indicated by the November patch updates, here are the recommended system requirements: OS: Windows 7 64bit SP1 CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Processor 2.4GHz or better AMD Phenom 2 X4 Quad-core 2.5GHz or better RAM: 4GB RAM or higher Video: ATI/AMD Radeon HD 4850 or better NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260 or better 512MB minimum video RAM Shader 3.0 or better fully compatible graphics card Latest drivers for your video card DVD-ROM Drive: 8x speed or faster Disk Space Required: 30 GB minimum, recommended, and optimal requirements are just that... minimum to get the game going and so you can play at your 10fps, recommended usually gets you by the game at its normalcy of 30fps and below on high population, and optimal for 30+++ fps, all you people complaining about having at least minimum requirements are barking up the wrong tree. your pc is just that... MINIMUM
  6. I've read every forum post that I could about every problem out there, many many hours of reading and reading and reading. I also said specifically in my post that this isn't a fix for everybody, obviously you didn't read my post entirely before you went directly to flaming me for no reason. I realize that computers out there running 5ghz oc's and a billion gigs of ram, 100 gazillion gig hard drives, 20 monitors and all that jazz are having problems, but I'm saying that its not SWTOR's fault entirely, if my pc can run it that good, then guess what... those high end pc's have other issues that need addressing apparently
  7. processor, motherboard and ram don't count the power supply and cooler options i paid extra for, i kept the case, HD's, graphics card, optical drives, cables, fans, tv tuner I could have used my 550w power supply that was already hooked up, but I wanted to use it for the old motherboard for a custom built home entertainment "shoe box" pc with all the old parts
  8. Intel originally released the Q6700 processor in 2007. So when I bought my HP ELITE in late 2008, it was already outdated, and its now 2012. Moore's law describes a long-term trend in the history of computing hardware. This is that the number of transistors that can be placed inexpensively on an integrated circuit doubles approximately every two years. The period often quoted as "18 months" is due to David House, an Intel executive, who predicted that period for a doubling in chip performance (being a combination of the effect of more transistors and them being faster). Q's and Duo's are outdated, regardless if the game has bad programming or not. Moores law is real
  9. Another note I also went back and reset my processor to its original clock speed to test and see if any major differences. @ standard i5 2500k speeds I was seeing a HUGE increase in performance from my old Q6700 @ 4.3ghz overclock I was seeing nearly the same improvements except an increase in smoothness in the IMP fleet was more noticeable and also shadows turned on felt extremely smooth as well
  10. So your saying that we should be able to use a fireplace to travel to another planet?
  11. Old Problem Warzones: 10-20 fps Missions: 40-90 fps Imp Fleet: 2-20 fps (depends on population) Old settings, Old Hardware Q6700 Quad Core processor 2.4ghz 7gb 800mhz Ram stock HP Elite motherboard Nvidia 560ti OC 1gb video card Corsair 550w power supply After trying every setting known to man and these forums, upgrading everything on my computer software wise, installing and reinstalling SWTOR multiple times, using all types of drivers, including BETA drivers, the problem was never fixed nor improved upon. Fix So I broke down and upgraded my motherboard, processor, ram, and now check out the results Warzones: 70-100 fps all settings on HIGH including shadows Missions: 100+ fps all settings on HIGH including shadows Imp Fleet: 30-80 fps all settings on HIGH including shadows Intel i5 2500k overclocked to 4.3ghz Corsair H60 water cooler Gigabyte Z68 motherboard Vengeance 1600mhz 8gb Ram with heatsinks 650 Thermaltake modular power supply I know its a bit overkill but I play other games as well that are huge like SWTOR. My computer was already ready for the upgrades as I killed the HP elite case and opted for the custom see thru case a while back for the better cooling. I understand that this isn't a possibility for some of you out there but I'm going to go on a limb and just say it, technology is moving forward and so are games, if you are getting by on your budget pc, laptop (which all laptops in my mind are non-gaming) or store bought computer like what mine used to be, then fine... keep gaming. But if you want to fix your fps issues, you'll need to get rid of that old Q processor or dual core from prehistoric ages. -This game is intensely based on how good your processor is. -This games FPS issues are mainly because of the SIZE of the footprint that characters create when your computer first sees them and tries to draw them, remember their position, what they are doing, and all the spell effects which also comes back to your processor speed because its constantly updating and feeding this info to the rest of your computer -If your the few people that are having issues with frame rate drops / abnormalities / bugs / disconnects / weirdness of the games behavior, then I suggest you rethink your computer choices and / or consider that your system is subpar or in need of fine tuning in more than one way. I also understand that you may not be able to afford such things, in which case (in my opinion) just going to have to deal with the current performance of the game until you are capable of it. -I did a full windows 7 reinstall, all 200+ updates, beta drivers, i dragged the SWTOR folder back to the main hard drive and ran the launcher.exe which freaked out for a few minutes about DirectX and several missing drivers but it fixed itself and launched right back up into complete heaven of beautiful high res, high fps gaming goodness -Not a single ERROR 9000 for a week now, and I couldn't be more happy with the performance -Things of note about my setup * Charter 15mbps internet normally around 50+ms latency * all the gear I bought cost me $600.00 and some change for delivery * my total computer build cost me under 1k so if your looking for something to build for yourself this is a good start * I could have gotten a cheaper motherboard with only 1 PCI-e slot but I wanted room for upgrades in the future for SLi * Sorry if anything I've said offends you, this isn't a tutorial, this isn't a fix for everybody, and if you are running a high end machine and still seeing problems, then I am sorry but you might want to delete some of that nasty stuff off your hard drive thats eating your resources
  12. Looks like every last Operative will be going to Heals, or rolling what everybody else rolls......... A Sorc. Maybe take both points out of jarring strike and just debilitating them after your opener instead, use the 2 points for damage reduction / better healing in the medic tree. Also another idea is to just QQ about how many assassins are out there 2 shotting us with maul + a giant rock and maybe they'll get nerfed too... 17k HP and i died out of the opener from the same assassin about 6 times in a warzone, and no he didn't have a single buff besides his own relic.
  13. they are nerfing us anyway, regardless if we need it or not. I still get 2 shotted by geared champion Jedi Shadow, his opener hits me for nearly 9k, then he backs up and throws a rock at me for 4k, and i'm pretty much dead before I even know which way it came from. I'm also in full champ / cent gear with 17k hp, gettin smashed by them.
  14. where is this nerf? i dont see it in the patchnotes
