  1. Yeah Marauder will have a role for sure. AOE stun, burst...1 of 2 classes good at running the huttball to the line ... and predation is almost mandatory.

Carnage will be great with healing love, Rage if used by teams properly will be too.

  2. Hybrid Carnage + Rage build.

    http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#100ZhRrRRr0zZRrordf.1

It would use Ataru form and would get its burst dps from Gore->Scream->Ravage or a Shockwave stacked Smash. One big issue that would have to be worked around with strategy would be that the only way to generate Shockwave stacks is by Force Choke....if only we got 2 more points to play around with.

It loses some damage from some of the skills near the top of the trees too.

  3. the #1 sign that you are going to be a terribad Marauder is if you find yourself using your healing companion

Garbage .... it's not difficult levelling with any of the companions, but with a healer out, you can continue fighting non stop witout any breaks at all to heal up.

The time saved by not having to heal up greatly outweighs the small amount of extra time it takes killing stuff when you want to run a quest quickly.

Funny seeing posts from people trying to be 1337 about PVE levelling ><

That being said, while levelling up you should try to max out at least 2 of your companions to 10,000 affection by the time you hit 50.

  4. Carnage for healers. The burst sequence: Gore, Scream, Ravage puts out insane damage. If you get a healer down to under half using your interupts...etc, you've got a good chance of bursting him to death in a few secs for the rest.
  5. You'll find carnage harder than annihilation from my experience and you'll think its very much a glass cannon in comparison to annihilation.

You need to be less bold when playing carnage as you'll go down in a few seconds with 3 people focusing you.

The burst damage is certainly fun though, and they seem to be really good for rage efficiency.

  6. Looking at the bonus damage formulas: Str bonus damage = str * 0.2 where Pwr bonus damage = pwr * 0.23

So for 7 equipped augments you will get 25 bonus damage using str or 29 bonus damage using power.... but Str will give you a tiny crit % benefit over power too (especially when you are already around 30%)

Going by the maths, the differences are small, but favor power slightly in terms of bonus damage.

  7. I'm currently working on optimizing my pvp gear as I build up, have 4 WH pieces and have already hit the recommended values for crit, expertise and crit damage (currently have 28% crit%, 1200exp and 74% crit bonus damage).

As I buy WH items, I'm slotting all their mods into augmented gear and adding on Power augments for extra bonus damage.

I also bought a set of BM gloves and stripped out the enhancement mod to slot into one of my other items for some extra power (at the expense of some crit, surge and a tiny bit of exp)

What switches do people who have perfectly optimized gear do? I've been told over and over that straight WH weaponmaster gear is nowhere near the best setup to use.

Are there any DPS simulators that will allow you to test all the combinations against a target with x% DR? What do you think the ultimate, acheivable stats are (unbuffed)?

    STR:

    PWR:

    EXP:

    CRIT%:

    CRIT BONUS%:

  8. OP: so you want the game to reserve your wz spot for when you reconnect? What about when rage-quitters alt-f4 their game and dc. Their spot stays reserved and your team is now 1 man down.

The current setup is for the greater good as a DC only affects 1 person. If you get frequent DC's....fix that.

  9. Well once you have all the best gear, it will be fair and equal won't it. Acquiring pvp gear is just another form of powering up which is what makes MMO's successful.

If an MMO was released where people started at level 50 with exactly the same gear with no progression system, it would not last very long at all.

Take your licks, get your gear (1 week for BM which will see you get an equipment edge on 50% of players in pvp) then enjoy getting each new piece of WH gear as they come.

This is NOT a problem, its how pvp works in all MMO's.

  10. If a carnage specced marauder pops his 80% speed boost as the first door blows up, and your team gets held up in any way, there's little chance you'll see that assasin/shadow at the front of their group before the 2nd doors go down.
  11. Crippling slash when you're high enough level to get it, that'll prevent kiting, add it into your rotation every few seconds to keep them moving slow. Also, don't charge people as your first attack when you don't need to. Run up to them and hit when you can and use charge after they knock you back or stun+move away.

Camo will speed you up and get you on their tail again too.

  12. Anyone who knows what they're talking about, maybe?

Wouldn't work for you with a welfare keyboard, but with the mouse and my keyboard, I have access to 13 rebindable mouse buttons (use 5-6) + 10 rebindable keyboard buttons + 5 unbindable within easy finger reach of my directionals. More than enough to perform all the time critical tasks and all the non-urgent ones go on the f-keys.

I have absolutely no problem at all with my fuidity compared to most of the marauder vids I've seen which look painful.

  13. First thing you need to do is get rid of all those alt and ctrl combinations.

I've bound my key bindings as below so I don't need alts (they cause issues if you hit 2 buttons at a time sometimes). The keys are all ones which aren't bound ingame by default (at least not to anything I use due to G150 keyboard).

    Main Bar

    1234567890-=

    2nd Bar

    ABDEFHJQW insert pgup pgdn

    3rd Bar

    f1 f2 .... f12

Then its a matter of binding them in a way that works for you. The Naga is a tricky mouse to use. Buttons 1 to 5 are easy enough to use, so you should keep your frequently used abilities bound to those. 6 to 12 are tricky to get to and I generally don't use them. Also use mouse button 3 (wheel button) for a main attack too.

  14. You're a little fish in a big pond being a fresh 50. It'll start out painfully now that people are starting to become fully geared in WH.

Your damage output and medals has a lot to do with the rest of your group. If you're constantly surrounded by scrubs in their pve gear, then consider just leaving WZ's before you start (its better for everyone if you leave early). Inspect players as they wait in the ready room. If the average expertise stat of the players is below 800 and there's not many people over 1100, then consider leaving the wz.. your team is likely to get rolled.

While you're weak, stick around in crowds helping out with injured enemies so you dont draw attention and don't run way outside the pack to attack healers (known healer hunters get focused).

I agree with an earlier post... sabers give you the best bang for buck, then switch out the power crystals with expertise crystals and put them all in a custom, augmented saber. Will cost you 1 BM saber + about 200k credits per saber to set up, but well worth it.

Deck out all the items which have the biggest benefit over your recruit gear ... legs, arms, chest, feet and leave the artifacts and implants till last. When going from BM to WH, again look for the biggest benefit gains.... probably do your sabers llater in the piece because the augmented sabers will give you some good mileage.

  15. How are you getting it that high? Are you using the wz dummy? I've tried everything and can only manage to get it to 1170DPS on the WZ dummy. I'm using warrior and enquisitor buffs, no stims at all. I am fighting for 2 minutes at a time though (simulating a long group fight)

Could you post your parser screen or send me your log by any chance, would sure like to see where all your damage is coming from and what I'm screwing up?

I can see form mine that a vast majority is bleed damage (with a high crit %), with the best direct attack being annihilation.

  16. I'm using almost all weaponmaster BM gear with augmented 141 exp sabers and 1 WH piece and getting 1100dps. It feels a little low.

Can anyone else with the warzone dummy let me know what they are getting? If mine is low, its likely to be my rotation or not waiting for procs.

If you're getting a lot higher with similar gear, would sure like to know your rotations/general strat.
