  1. OK, I re-subbed to see if the new missions were any good and to see what happened with PVP. What I get is one extra planet worth of missions followed by endless mining with the seeker droid. A) which fool told you guys that people love standing around watching a mini-ufo thingy plunging holes in the ground? seriously? B) was it the same fool who recommended that you design an entire campaign around watching said mindless hole digging ufo thing for hours on end ad nauseam, with the added bonus of long commute times between hole digging? Sorry but this update seems to me that a few devs came up with 2 new items and their manager told them to use them to death to squeeze every ounce of value out of them.
  2. oh please .... it takes less than a week to be averagely geared in WZ's and 3 weeks to be fully optimized. Only lazy people or people who are getting chewed up in Ilum while queuing like a bunch of fairies would complain about that.

    Dear Ilum...

Nah they just need to set up a new 100 comm daily and a weekly at central again, one that doesn't take hours to complete like the crates did. But yeah, last night was fun. Was so good getting revenge on all the tards who screw up my WZ's, turning up in their pve gear. Having it as a free for all was good too, allowing for different strats (get right amongst the people you're killing to cause major confusion, people with remote AOE effects can get away with anything by pretending to be one of the queuing crowd)

    Illum 2.0

We didn't, last night. We saw all the pve people queuing, jumped into the middle of them and broke that **** up!! Had so much fun with 4 decent pvper's vs 10-15 pve's. Absolute carniage. We thought of it as revenge for all the @rsehats who turn up to WZ's in their columi gear. Such sweet sweet revenge.
  5. Cheers ... seems the consensus is that a pretty balanced approach is preferred. I'm about finished completely decking myself in power gear so far and I'm noticing its doing quite good damage. My crit is suffering though (around 25%). I still have all the removed mods, so after I try all power, I'll see if high crit makes much of a difference.
  6. I haven't played in a while so haven't followed the last few patches. I understand that Annihilation healing is now basically useless. With that in mind, what are fully geared and good players having better results with right now? Is crit as important as it was? Is it worth going all out for power with lower crit or not?
  7. This one's on the market, a little jedi-ish, but I like it. http://i.imgur.com/FOB5rcT.jpg
  8. Carnage fits your requirements best I think. Rage spends a lot of time wait for Smash to become available while Carnage has the toughest burst combo (10 to 15k in 3 seconds) as well as a great sustained damage chain with berserk massacre spam. Read up the guides on how to play it before using it and spend some time on the dummy getting the combo's right.
  9. Its up to your team mates to have situational awareness. If you are fighting in a stalemate at a node with equal strength sides and you see the enemy's native node get capped by one of your guys, your team sux @rse if nobody runs to back them up immediately.
  10. When you heavily outgun them and communication is good , its quite simple holding all 3. Had a match last night where we had 3 for all but 20 seconds of the CW match. If you can do it, do it .... more comms per minute.
  11. Terrible example .... most sports are 90% dominated by people with the best physical attributes. Physical attributes are improved by constant training (grinding). Gear in this game is the thing that sets your physical attributes. Those who grind for it, get the better gear. For your example to hold true, any unfit, 300lb fat kid in the real world should be able to win at the olympics as long as he has a good running technique and is wearing the standard shoes.
  12. Irrelevant, bosses have 100's of thousands of hit points to burn through. PVP players have just 15 - 20,000. Can any of the Annihilation marauders down a 100% health (but badly geared) enemy in 3 seconds? That's just long enough to get off deadly saber, rupture and annihilate. Carnage gets more roots and the best speed buff in the game, not to mention its a little less easy to play, Annihilation is just a faceroll fest.
  13. No to the OP. I don't do it too often, but if I'm in a group that does absolutely retarded stuff right from the start of the match then I'm not wasting 15 minutes of my valuable time hurting my brain from all the stupid going on around me. You want a penalty system, then give me my kick vote system so horrible players can just be booted from the team when I see them 3v1'ing some enemy healer on the other side of the Pit from the ball.
  14. It had gear progression in BF2 .... unlocks. They just expanded the upgrade path more with later releases and made it class specific. It wasn't gear progression that killed BF3 for pc, it was because it was a console port and felt like one. Also because it was just BF3, people who were already sick of the older titles realised it was just the same old ****, just a bit more shiny.
  15. All very poor examples. If you wanted absolute equality like you are saying then all boxers are to have exactly the same body size, strength and stamina. No advantages from extra arm length, height or fast twitch muscle development, better cardio. What's the reality of boxing though? The boxers that put in the time building up their physical attributes have a significant advantage over those that don't. A lot still comes down to ability and will, but with two equally skilled fighters, the one that spent time buffing up will almost always be the winner. What you're proposing is that every player of a certain class have exactly the same stats. That's exactly what my example above simulates. If you think your idea is good, then why don't you try to put a naked pvp league together and see how popular that is amongst other players? Much better than proposing to force it on all players. I guarantee you that swtor pvp would be empty 1 day after the patch with your new system.
  16. Another lazy player couldn't be bothered gear grinding and would rather complain than do the work. Power progression is the number 1 feature that keeps people playing MMO's. Without it, people would simply play until they reach 50 .... have no other incentive other than winning matches "yay...big deal!" then leave. Do your time, grind for your fully optimized WH gear and enjoy the little release of endorphins each time you get a new piece. Once everyone is fully geared, you'll have your dream of being equally geared with everyone else and gear being irrelevant.
  17. Crit is not as important as power. Each ability has a damage coefficient which is multiplied by your bonus damage score. So getting 100 points more of bonus damage actually means you'll be doing 280 more on your normal hits and 500 or so more on your crits. Don't forget that you should buy 4 pieces of vindicator gear (and place their components into something you can wear) ... the 10% damage bonus after charge is extremely useful. Don't waste the money optimizing until you're fully WH geared. Makes little difference. One thing you can do when you have excess expertise when almost fully WH though is grab some of your power specced Battlemaster enhancements/mods out of your ship's hold (always strip all your useful mods out before upgrading a BM piece to WH) and replace some of the more useless WH mods.
  18. My friend joined a different PVP guild to me and they were doing this each night. The time they waste setting this up and managing to get a game with each other without people dc'ing while queuing made it not worthwhile. In the time he managed to get 2 games (1 win 1 loss) of rated, I had played 6 normals with my guildies and won them all making a lot more comms than he got.
  19. How about instead of "asking" if there's a plan, you propose a plan..... Voidstar: "wanna zerg left, stealthers go right?" or for defense "2 each side, rest wait on platform". Civil War: "2-5-1 sound ok?" Huttball: "which marauder's going to speed us up?" (start strat doesn't matter, its the mid game that wins anyway) Personally, I take a look at people's gear when I join WZ's. If there's more than 2 people wearing pve gear or below 900 exp, I'm outa there. Most pvp veterans don't play like clueless *******.
  20. Ideal is power optimized full WH with legacy belt and bracers and 4 piece vindicator set bonus. It's quite a grind from where you are now. Just make sure when you buy your chest, gloves, boots and legs, that you buy vindicator, not weaponmaster.
  21. With carnage marauder being extremely reliant on not being cc'd during the main rotations, I usually try to beat on people who someone else has softened up for me. For snipers, I wait for someone else to get them on their feet, then I jump on them and finish them quickly. I think this is a good way to play to the marauder's strengths.
  22. You should get the vindicator 4 piece bonus too. Your smash bombs immediately after a charge get an additional 10% damage bonus. I've heard of smashes by Jugs over 7.5k. Force Mystic gloves (adept enhancment) and Vindicator gloves (deft mod) have the enhancements and mods you want for powerstacking. Don't forget to replace your belt and bracers for the legacy items either, they give you MUCH higher bonus damage stats at the cost of some expertise (still well worth it).
  23. been knocked into the ground at south in novare before
  24. they'd vote for the LEAST useful enemy player, not the best. people would get paid for sucking or standing in the corner.
