  1. If you're interested in helping anyway, Cap, please get in touch! As for you two from Ebon and Vrook, I wish you the very best of luck in getting things rolling on your servers! If you have any success, I'm sure it'd be a wonderful inspiration to hear how it goes, or maybe even see some screenshots! I also do happen to be a man, ehe. Please, if you're interested in helping anyone, do leave a post or some mail!
  2. It's only been a few weeks since release, but the complaints concerning RP and finding it already feel like they've gone on forever, both for the Republic and Empire. As a Republic player, my primary focus in this post concerns the Republic, but please, if this inspires you Imps? No one loses if you try to improve your side as well. This isn't another what's-wrong post--which I don't fault anyone for, as that's stage one to fixing anything! I want to give some ideas of how we can try to improve things. These would be impossible for anyone to do alone, but with under forty, maybe even under thirty people, we can get things started. I think we can muster up enough manpower to equal a gradeschool class, right? One of the biggest complaints is that RP is restricted to the cantinas, but that's not abnormal. The reason why this happens is because they're easily accessible, and people know that's where to look. The most common suggestion is 'RP somewhere else!' but if it were that easy, why do we still have complaints? What I would suggest is to take a few things from lore and simple logic. Troopers have home bases. Smugglers have ports-of-call. Jedi Watchmen, and even just Jedi in general, find places in the galaxy where they simply just 'belong.' If we had an organized group of four, just four greeters for every civlized, non-warzone Republic world's capital--Tython's Jedi Temple, Ord Mantell's Fort Garik, Coruscant's Senate Tower, Voss' Voss-ka, Alderaan's House Organa, and Tattooine's Anchorhead--think of all the random RP they could kick off, especially once they start recruiting more greeters? And this wouldn't be restrictive--if someone wants to make a world their homeworld? Great! Worlds are large enough to have lots of traders, lots of military groups, and lots of Jedi. There's absolutely no need for power struggles, for who gets the 'most' authority. If it makes sense for your character, absolutely nothing is stopping you from picking a new homeworld today! I'd also like to suggest monthly origin world events, to keep our faction tight. Just one hour, for once a month. Is that a hard goal for however many hundred people we have? We could have philosophy lectures and combat training on Tython, military drills and blackmarket trademeets on Ord Mantell, and huge political events and balls on Coruscant. All it takes is one group of people with a good idea to get things moving anywhere, on anything. We've had enough complaints. Why don't we try to do our part, and make this a server we can be proud of? Even just passing the world will help, and if you or your guild or just you and a few friends want to make somewhere better or get something started? You'll be doing more than enough. Please, feel free to use this thread to discuss this topic and give your opinions or suggestions, but also pass the word and feel just as free to go out there and get something down, without a word here. I wish you all the very best of luck! If you want to contact me in game, please feel free to mail or send a tell to Cal-var.
  3. I'm an RPer myself, and I actually love the thought of people curious or semi-sure about wanting to RP joining on RP servers. It's the only way that we can get new RPers, really, and even if you don't become a hardcore, fanfic writin', storyline driving mega-RPer, I know I wouldn't wanna turn down more people to quest and play with so long as you're respectful and courteous of my and others' RP. A quick tip to those that are REALLY new and ogling this thread, you know someone's Out Of Character if they put their text in some form of brackets ((like this.)) Also, Lord Adraas is the unofficial US RP-PVE 'superserver' for those interested.
