  1. you forgot WTT - want to trade... WTG, nub!
  2. fanboy thing??? it means he likes facing off against the same people, making the fights have a lasting impact past getting your jollies off by smashing each other in the face. and if you dont care about who you fight, then it shouldnt matter to you that you are fighting the same people.
  3. paying for server transfers is NOT an option for me. there is little to no cost for bioware, therefore there should be no cost for me either. people have said that the cost is to refund BW for the money they spent on developing the feature. what am i paying my 15$/euros/whatever for then??? i pay BW a monthly fee to do monthly development work on the game, and to keep the servers running. pay them for a feature that (a) will probably reduce costs for them because they shut some servers down completely, and (b) other games, notably rift, which has about 200k to 300k subscribers, do this for me for free?? no, its absolutely unacceptable.
  4. no. it will not be in 1.2. they are working on it, but since swtor, unlike other mmo's, has more to consider than just a single character when talking about character transfers (b/c of legacy, if it isnt clear), there is a lot more to making server transfers possible/fair than in other mmos. thats not to say that server transfers are in any way a cake walk for other games. one thing i will say is that they damn well better make the transfers free, thats one of the very few deal breakers i would have for this game.
  5. why do people insist on saying that the game is going f2p in a month, 3 months, half a year, what have you?? there are 3 types of "f2p" games. one is where the game was released as a free to play game, which swtor was not. the second is where the game is made partially free to play because of declining subscription rates, of which swtor does not have more of than anyone with any sense of mmo subscription trends would have ever predicted. the third is where the game property itself is transferred to another company entirely, which is not happening. my only conclusion can be that the people who say these things are either: (a) making predictions without knowing what they are talking about; (b) are cynical nay-sayers; or © are trolling.
  6. myself and 3 guildies on our first HM run of false emperor. none of us had done the instance before, we were learning all the fights as we did them. finally got to HK, wiped twice. the third time, we get him down to 25k health, when he does one of his stealth kill things, then enrages and snipes 2 people to death. i pop my defensive cooldowns, and struggle to down him. he dies with me sitting comfortably at 126 health. there were fanfares blowing in my head.
  7. i've switched crewskills multiple times on 2 different 50's. did it once to switch my warr from synthweaving/underworld/archeology to artificer for the rakata relics, and then again to biochem/diplomacy/bioanalysis. i also switched a BH from armormech/underworld/scavenging to biochem/diplomacy/bioanalysis. i'd say it costs about 150k to 200k if you simply level all 3 skills from 1-400, meaning you dont buy any superfluous recipes, and dont buy all of the "rakata" level recipes at 400. some of this you can make back by either selling the left over mats you have. considering that you can make about 200k a day doing dailies alone, you might want to wait until 50.
  8. make sure you turn in all the quests before that one (meaning the sith, the droid, and the military guy in the cave where you step out of the teleporter)
  9. the order the pylons need to be solved in is North South South North. however, i was under the impression that this had been solved in the latest patch. as for the resetting, im sorry but i have no clue.
  10. im not going to waste my time or yours listing the huge number of reasons why this assumption is completely and utterly wrong.
  11. 2 things i'd suggest you try: 1. let the normal mobs be, they go down in less than 2 seconds if dps and focusing them down. in packs with 6 mobs, you can't be bothered to hold aggro on all of them, and should focus only on strong and higher mobs. 2. dont use force scream or backhand right after a charge. force scream after a few seconds. healing should be god enough at the start of a fight for you to use other abilities. plus, if you use force scream right after charge, it uses up your revenge counter, which is useless since force scream is already free (hopefully). much better to use revenge for smash. also, you can save your shield for when the healer is busy or casting a long heal or w/e. backhand is better used after a taunt. i use this combo to get aggro and keep it right after dps has done their bursts.
  12. this is a known issue, i believe. i was told it had to do with the RNG taking into account player instance ID numbers or something like that.
  13. F2-F4 target members of your group.
  14. heroic dailies on belsavis and ilum give great tanking armorings/mods/enhancements
