  1. I'm using 5/33/3 right now, feels good man. Where you actually put the filler points in Vig is pretty flexible and up to personal preference.
  2. Vengeance is great for a while but then slows down a little until you get your execute and 31 point skill around 45/46 (assuming the 5 points in Immortal for Rage economy.). After that it's pretty sick and mows stuff down. Most important things are learning to use whatever the sith version of Opportune Strike and Pommel Strike are. Effective use of these skills speeds up your normal silver/normal/normal pulls substantially.
  3. I'm not going to give up my Sage, but I already have a Guardian at 50 who's Vigilance spec, which is the main spec that got a substantial buff this round, so I'm pretty happy about that. My normal rotation's going to feel a lot smoother with the changes.
  4. I have several power/surge mods I'd probably use and one crit/surge. Right at 300 AR right now. Were I to pick up the accuracy talent I'd probably lean more towards the power/surge stuff, since I get autocrits.
  5. This seems very similar to how Guild Wars 2 is going to be balanced. Instead of healers, you have support, which handle a mix of dps, passive/active healing, crowd control, buffs, and debuffs.
  6. Oh no, a rogue gets fewer resource points than a priest. They're not the same class, if something like adding melee to sages (which won't happen) happens, it won't be the same as a shadow at all, and the devs are in control of how much the **** costs. How many of your base rotation abilities cost 60+ Force? Didn't think so.
  7. I get that Arsenal/Gunnery was a skilless spec before, and you're used to it. They're raising the skill floor. As a sage I can predict where mobs are getting thrown and place my AoEs so that they hit only unmezzed mobs with optimal uptime whilst accurately predicting where they'll land when they get knocked down. L2P.
  8. Like the previous poster said, the biggest problem are fight mechanics that are unduly punishing towards melee dps and forcing them into situations where they have to hamper their uptime for the sake of defensive cooldowns and avoiding mechanics altogether. This is more of an issue in KP than it is in EV, so it's a 'new' thing. Judging by the things I've seen about the first encounter in EC, the trend continues, and is worrying.
  9. On my Guardian I don't have the accuracy talent but may take it to remod my gear. Granted I have the talent that gives you extra damage when snared and the one that gives you free focus when you get CCed. Those are mostly quality of life/Compensatory talents though, giving you back a little DPS in times when your uptime is delayed. If your uptime is never delayed, taking the accuracy thing and remodding your gear is optimal, but how many fights are truly 100% uninterrupted uptime?
  10. Luke Skywalker and the Technocolor Dream Coat
  11. The text was mildly amusing. The clips however had me laughing outloud. GJ BioWare.
  12. From the build you linked? I already went through that. - Concentration, + Clamoring Force.
  13. But does the sage increase the entire raid's dps by several percent? DPS guardians still bring Sunder, which vicariously improves raid dps by enough that the entire raid is worse for not having at least one guardian present, dps or not.
  14. Make sure the noble sacrifice debuff falls off before you use it again. In 1.2 you can't use Presence of Mind on Telekinetic Wave. Save it for Mind Crush.
  15. I just want my consular to wear equipment that looks like it was designed for males. Jedis don't wear robe bottoms, they wear leggings. Males don't routinely wear an off-the-shoulder toga. I'm of course referring to the Consular PVE set, although this applies to all consular gear. It's all designed to look appropriate on females. Only the PVP sets look like they were designed for males. Really? You're going to link to this pic twice in the same page of the same thread, a half hour apart? Come on.
  16. Weaken Mind is basically your highest damage ability in terms of damage per cast time and damage per force. Adding two ticks to it is an extra 33% overall damage, and it procs Psychic Projection. Like I said, Concentration requires you to cast Disturbance, which you shouldn't ever have to cast.
  17. Dump Concentration into Clamoring Force. Telekinetic Throw is your filler, adding Disturbance to your rotation is clunky and doesn't actually add DPS. If you're worried about your long term force management, you can go with a Psychic Suffusion variant and never look at your force bar again at the cost of some DoT damage. Otherwise you can play 0/13/28 and eat a single noble sacrifice every 10.5 seconds starting at 75% force.
  18. It only works when you also have Telekinetic Balance. But yeah, if you mash your Telekinetic Throw hotkey when you have a Psychic Projection proc, you can get off two consecutively.
  19. I use all 3 ticks of Master Strike pretty much only if everything else is on cooldown, it's still worth doing then, as the 3rd tick is equivalent to overhead strike by itself. Sucks that it's so backloaded and the first two ticks go out so fast, IMO. Nobody ever thinks 'Vigilance' or 'Vengeance' when someone says DPS. We're talking about PVE here. Focus took a nerf for Guardians, but Vig/Ven got a significant buff, free focus on Zen Strike and Sundering Throw, sign me the hell up.
  20. If Psychic Projection double dipping remains in 1.2, according to Kor 1/12/28 will likely stay the top dps built.
  21. I was the third done. And it's not a marauder, it's one of the 77k mobs. We gave the marauder to the other guardian that outgears me but doesn't know what he's doing (Which I assume meshes better with your expectations on the subject). Keep in mind my Guardian was in basically item level 50-51 components at the time and hadn't so much as cashed in any of his rewards yet at that point. The two done before me were the average IL 57 Commando and a Sentinel in a mix of columni and champion gear. FE HM has a couple fights you can use as a pretty reliable DPS check. If either of the two DPSers wasn't pulling their weight, you'd know it.
  22. That's basically the cookie-cutter standard of TK builds. The main differences between pure TK, Balance, and Hybrid are playstyle, but the Hybrid build does somewhat outperform both pure builds right now. The others are still competitive and if you're not in a hardcore prog guild it shouldn't matter that much for PVE dps.
  23. The only people I don't outdps in my guild are people that vastly outgear me. Tonight we did FE Hard mode, on the Droid twins, dropped the first before he could get his circle up, dropped HK-47 before his second assassination protocol, and had Malgus well within grenade range and on the bridge before his 4th solo cycle. You may say that the other dps that was with me carried us (He's barely t1/t2) or that the tank was doing a lot of DPS (full t2 vanguard) but you'd be wrong. I know when I'm pulling my weight, at no point have I ever felt I was inadequate. You anti-guardian DPS people are straight wrong. It's likely a lot of people aren't playing Vigilance properly, that's outside of my control. What is in my control, is my Guardian, and I do better than fine with him.
  24. Force Clap was removed from the newest version of 1.2 on the PTS.
