  1. I disagree. MMO pvp resembles an RTS micro, only it's easier. If you let me chain abilities together in a .5 second gcd, I can manage my assassin's combos just as easily, just as tactically, as I can at 1.5s or 3s (to use your incorrect number). Besides, as an assassin your tactical thinking should be done before you open: losing control of a fight means you're back at the medcenter. The slower gcd is just for immersion; you can have better animations, match the animations to the fight better. From that standpoint, I like it. I'm sick of worgen warriors/dks in WoW doing endless front flips with their axe, swinging at air and still hitting me.
  2. You say you've played other games: the Deception Sin should feel like a mutilate rogue in WoW, sans combo points. You have discharge and shock to fill the role of envenom, that is dealing damage that bypasses armor, and you have melee that will hit things without a lot of armor very hard. The talent Induction not only buffs Maul but also creates a strong synergy between Thrash/VS and Shock. The talent Static Charges provides a reason to be using Thrash/VS against any target, especially high armor targets, because of the chance of proccing Surging Charge and building another stack to buff your next Discharge. Admittedly, this feels like RNG building of combo points in order to use Envenom. Still, it's useful and gives us a way to fry them inside their heavy armor. To me, it feels very similar: know how to drop the squishy targets and know when you can win, toe to toe, with a beefy target.
  3. I imagine the number could come from a Maul? At level 23, bolstered, I had a maul crit on a Jedi Sage for 3021. I was quite excited However, I think your assessment may be more correct.
  4. All he was saying is that you're not using the tools given to you. Pretty bad player in my book. Honestly, how often do you use Jolt? Interrupt their casts. If you're fighting a level 30 elite at level 27, you shouldn't be doing that yet. However, if you're struggling against a level 30 elite and you're level 30 or higher, you're not using your abilities. Electrocute, Overload, and Jolt will all interrupt a cast (provided the mob can be incapacitated). Use them. Also, Khem is a beast. Turn on the dps stance, feed him gear (I've been relying on warzone commendations for that).
  5. I'm pretty sure he just blasted you with the power of the internets. Although 5k seems low, the internets should hit for over 9000.
  6. It's...not "easy" but simple and not even requiring a medpack when done well. First attempt I tried ignoring the adds and letting Khem tank them. We both died but not before the broodmother was around 10%. Second attempt I decided to be smarter. I started using jolt on its casts, used electrocute early so I would have it again if needed. When it did manage to burrow (jolt on CD) I killed the adds. I think at the end Khem was nearly dead but I was around 40%. This was as deception, fighting in the room. I think a lot of people overlook the fact that you can interrupt her.
  7. I'm assuming warzones. You're a HoT healer, start throwing them around more Diagnostic Scan to regen energy. I think you're complaining about something without thinking it through. By putting points into the healing tree, you get access to 3 new abilities but you also get access to all manner of longevity talents. Okay, your friend is doing more total healing; if you're keeping things alive, you're not worse and you can keep it up nigh indefinitely while he lacks the tools to maintain his resource pool if all he does is heal. Healing isn't dps; sometimes throughput is wasted (overhealing). The measure of success is whether or not what you are healing survives.
  8. If your beef is really what you're saying in this post, rolling a new class won't help. The clunkiness you complain about is more related to the slower pace of pvp in general due to the 1.5s GCD. I still play WoW, anymore just pvp on my rogue, and server lag affecting positional attacks is the same. Quite often I'll kidney shot someone and stand behind them only to not be able to Ambush or Backstab; then the server catches up and my target warps 10 yards away from me, still stunned but wasting a second or two of shadow dance. Same happens here from my experience; laggy players and positional attacks are not very compatible. The other complaints you have, the long drop combat timer, getting cc'd, etc... I see your beef. You play a warrior in WoW; since the middle of WotLK, warrior mobility has steadily gone up (even with the nerf to the talent juggernaut after s8). My advice? PvP on a less mobile melee, either a death knight or a rogue, then come to this game and play your operative. Warrior is the most mobile, most difficult to control, melee in WoW: ToR does not have an equivalent with all of those tools to break cc and move around the battlefield Your play style simply needs to adapt to the lack of tools you have. Right now you aren't used to being in the situations you find your character in. I'm pretty sure that if you like melee, once you adjust to the less mobility you may even find Sith Warrior pvp to be fun (ignoring all of the complaints about being kited endlessly).
  9. That's funny, ~ for stealth. I thought everyone used S for stealth Honestly, it is preference. I think the best way to determine what to bind and where to bind it is to start with a small subset. Bind maybe 6 or 8 abilities, something manageable, and do warzones using only those. You'll discover abilities you really want to use but have yet to bind: add that bind for the next the warzone. Warzones and duels are your friend for learning keybindings as they are more easily repeated than flashpoints and fewer people will care, in pvp, if your brain panics and can't remember which key to press
  10. I watched Airia's stream. Even if Operative had the powerful mid-tree synergies that Sorc has in Corruption and Madness, remember Sorcerer is ranged. Operative would be 10m or less. Considerably different.
