  1. Moving forward, I'd like to see them open up weapon choices with new weapons added in the future. Allow CM, or quest attainable weapons that give players a choice beyond the simplistic, this class uses x weapon, that class uses y weapon. It's just lazy game design in my opinion. The art and animations may, or may not be different, but that doesn't mean that they couldn't do a little work on this and open up a huge amount of choice for players, and line their pockets with our cash in the process.
  2. I've been in search of a particular armor set listed in this link . The armor sets not listed as a class specific set. I have no problem with the scarcity of rare items in game, or the patience it takes to acquire them. BUT, I would like to get some sort of possible confirmation that they really exist in an attainable state in the game before I launch my efforts in to tracking them down. I have also been checking the GTN periodically throughout my play times for any pieces of the armor, but I have not found a single item from the armor listed in the link. That doesn't necessarily mean they don't exist, but rather that they are just not as sought after, therefor rare by circumstance. For example, I found the "Forceslayer" lightsaber on the GTN by luck (after reading about it in that forum thread), but I haven't seen one since. So can anyone confirm that any of the listed armors exist, or if they have personally looted any of the pieces in game?

  4. I wish they would have let us create first & last names to begin with that couldn't be reused by others. I understand them wanting to save last names for the legacy system, but they shouldn't have removed the unique aspect of it.
  5. Indeed. I haven't missed any either and I only have 2300.
  6. This is not accurate. The highest peak in subscriber numbers was after the JTL launch and was very well recieved at the time. Subs started sliding well after the JTL launch because of lack of content and some bugs/imbalances.
  7. Well.....First, I have been on the Fatman server since day one. Second, I've never played WOW, other than one time years ago and even that was only to level 15 before I couldn't stand playing it anymore. I have been playing mmo's since the days of Asheron's Call, so I'm not even remotely what you would call a WOWgen player. It has nothing to do with unrealistic expectations, so stop being so bitter. You and I both know that game developers could easily give us what we want, but problem is they want to give us what they want. This has played out repeatedly in mmo launch after mmo launch. And this is why so many of them have failed. You're just mad cause you can't admit to yourself that you know deep down inside that I'm right. Look I like this game too and I certainly want it to do great just like everyone else, but the wow cloned walled instanced themepark is not totally working is it? What is there to do post 50? Reroll for more content? Are you serious? What moron designer ever thought that was going to work for end game content. I digress, the first game maker that takes SWG and marries it to TOR and throws in some EVE to boot will win the gaming world over night!
  8. First, it didn't take anyone long to realize that this was not going to be SWG2, and I'm okay with that. I like the game for what it is, but it could be so much more. Second, those are not unrealistic expectations. They are the expectations of current gen mmo'ers who aren't satisfied with 10 year old systems anymore. Hell they were almost attained by game from 2003! SWG had its flaws yes, but a lot of those same things you named were the very things that created those tight knit communities in SWG in the first place. Nothing beat have to camp out in the wild, because you were so far out of the city that it would take forever to run back. Do you not remember how great it was to stumble upon someone else camping way out there in the middle of no where and sitting together black barred chit chatting? If you could marry SWG and TOR it would be a force to be reckoned with. Not because of Star Wars, but because of the game mechanics of each. It would be the block buster everyone wants. However, the developers at Bioware are not able to make that happen, so the first development team that does pull it off will be raking in the cash hand over fist.
  9. ....but I like all of your suggestions too! We must be eating from the same box of wheaties!
  10. I still wonder if these super servers will still make you feel like you are in a barely populated world like it is set-up now. Especially since there will likely be multiple, multiple, multiple instances of the same areas up and running. I hope they remove some of the world instancing with the server pop increase.
  11. It's failing because they can't remove the corporate section from their creative side of the brain. Players want complex, detailed, immersive OPEN worlds filled with content that they can have an impact on. Why do you think so many people still love SWG the way they do? What SWG got initially wrong was ITS LACK OF CONTENT! Players LOVED the original game even with the bugs and imbalances. However, corporate decision makers who had no clue only saw what they thought was the problem in SWG, which is everyone must want a restrictive guided tour through psuedo mmo theme land. That is the furthest thing from the truth, but TOR embraced it and swung the other way on the pendulum away from SWG. Now we have all started to see the results. What's really sad is that SWG as old as it was, still has elements today that are unmatched by any mmo to date. Honestly the Bioware team is screwed. Because they are too scared to buck the corporate controllers and do what's necessary to save this game, which will be a real paradym shift from how the game was developed in the first place. The first MMO developer to produce a sand box game with massive content, theme parks, mini games, crafting/housing systems, no level-skill point-complex-non trinity-non mirrored player classes, non-combat content/activities/purpose, 3+ non traditional role factions, hidden explorable unguided quest/events, dangerous weather/terrains, non static world events and open world ranked pvp with goals/objectives along with reasons to fight other than gear, plus multi faction/class player bounty systems will truly win the MMO industry and easily obliterate WOW in the process.
  12. All I can tell you is your doing it wrong. I've always found a group in 10 minutes or less (unless its some absurd off hour) and I've never encountered the "will help for money" problem you state, but I wouldn't cry about if I did either. Just be patient and instead of asking to join a group next time, just spam that YOU ARE STARTING ONE and you will be surprised how quickly you will get your group together. Don't be affraid to lead a group rather than follow on this server. People respond quicker when the person knows what they want, what they are doing, and how best to get it done. If it is still too hard for you and people don't seem to care how you want them too, than this is not the server for you, sorry.
  13. The Fatman server IS The Bloodfin server. We eat our young. Cope or get out.
  14. Sorry, but you are wrong. Get any orange saber and take out all of the mod items, THEN examine the saber. You will see the base damage stats for that saber.
