  1. Replying for visibility. Can we just get more beards please? Someone above wished for ones that don’t look like “an MS paint job slapped on”. I completely agree. Please make beards of different lengths, textures, and styles. How about a goatee with a handlebar moustache, that’s a fairly basic style that’s not in game.
  2. Hah! I could not agree more. I also submitted an in-game bug report about it recently. The helmet is clearly based off that of the main character in “The Mandalorian”, whose voice modulation is completely different. The present modulation is much more similar to the “Darth Vader” distortion on Sith Warrior helmets.
  3. OP, I really think SteveTheCynic and FumblesPhD above are correct. You are describing exactly what the current system is intended to do. To reiterate Steve's points: The current PTS build is not yet testing out combat syles. This is evident from several dev posts. This post makes it clear that the only thing being tested is the "Jedi Guardian", with no mention of combat styles. This post even says directly: The UI for combat styles and disciplines is most likely unfinished. This is further evidence that they are not at all testing out combat styles as a system yet. Because the expansion comes with ability pruning (as you also acknowledged in the top post), they have to test out how best to implement this without upsetting players too much. I really think this is why the current PTS build looks the way it does: it's about "how do we approach ability pruning" rather than, specifically, "how does the Jedi Guardian combat style feel" -- but that last bit is just my take on it. Again, these were (mostly) SteveTheCynic's points, and I think they are good points. I do not think you have cause for concern, OP -- the CS system will be tested in due time ---------------------------------
  4. Over a year after I posted this thread, BioWare have announced Combat Styles. This is a much sexier solution and my heart skipped several beats when they announced it. THANK YOU, BioWare :D I am SO psyched to replay all the stories with this feature!
  5. Fair points. I agree that Steve asks some good questions. I admit I hadn't thought about companions. I don't know if it'd be problematic to have access to the companions of both classes, and I think the feature hypothetically might have to be limited to the vanilla class stories to avoid things messing up once you get to the newer expansions. Re: simply buying a level 70 boost: I get why you might suggest that, but it's not so much difficulty I'm concerned with, but the freedom to play how I want to play - as someone else put it, preferring the toolkit of certain classes over others. But of course, you are all right. It would be a lot of work for BioWare to implement this, and if it's only me who's interested in this it definitely won't be worth it. Thanks for your replies.
  6. The following is how I imagine this would work. I obviously do not know how feasible this is to implement, but I’ll put it out there just the same. I am a Sith Sorcerer and purchase a class story swap from the Cartel Market. It’s a once-usable item, much like the level 70 datacron. I use it and am asked to select which class story to swap to. I choose Sith Warrior (or any other Imperial class), and the item is deleted upon use. I now have a toggle ability similar to Sprint. This toggle tells the game to use the Sith Warrior’s dialogue for my character and gives me access to SW phases and class quests, beginning with the very first quest. When I disable the toggle, everything reverses to my actual class. Outwardly, I am still a Sith Sorcerer, and in group cutscenes I function as such — the toggle cannot be active in groups. In this way, class swapping empowers those who want it and does not bother those who loathe it. When I toggle the swap back on, I pick up where I left off. I imagine only one class swap can be active at any time — if I purchase another one and activate it on the same character, progress on the SW storyline and assorted quests is lost. This is to reduce the amount of information the server needs to store about each player character and their quest data, or something like that. The cartel market item should probably be priced similarly to the level 70 datacron to avoid profits falling off on that. Whether the class swap service is too similar in nature to the datacron to be profitable for BW/EA is an empirical question. It might just be a breath of fresh air to a lot of players, but then again, some players (and devs) might want resources prioritised elsewhere. Thoughts?
  7. Ah, you're right... I guess all I really ever wanted with the game was to experience the story... Hmm.
  8. Having reached level 50 and done with my class story arc, I feel there's isn't much for me left to do. Nothing with story anyway. Of course there are things like ops, hard mode flashpoints, not to mention pvp, but things seem sort of empty to me. Completed the affection-related conversations with my preferred companion, but I felt there was no climax in that story... So frankly I'm at a loss. Maybe I should have chosen a roleplaying server instead, just to keep my imagination going with regard to my character. I don't know. So I haven't been playing the game much as of late, simply out of doubt on what to spend time on. Anyone else who feels the same way? Regardless, what do you think could be done to improve end-game content? PS. Please don't post any "Then quit" comments, If I wanted to quit, I'd have done it already.
  9. /Signed I now have Jaesa at 10k affection, and the only thing near romance was the "We should procreate - Our child would have great benefits" choise at the 9k conversation. Also there is no 10k conversation. That made me sad as hell!
