  1. You are not doing something wrong, the only way you could possibly make some credits now with slicing is by gathering slicing nodes and hope on a underworld trading or treasure hunting 340 mission which you can sell on the GTN. You are possibly confused by all the happy chatter after the release of patch 1.1 which made slicing viable again but unfortunately slicing has been murdered again with today's patch fix so there are no profits to be made with the slicing missions.
  2. It is about managing expectations and the feelings of their customers. Slicing was meant to be the skill that makes people have to grind less for money or work as other people call it. Grinding or working in a game is simply bad design in my opinion as it is meant to be entertainment and not work. When the game was released I was happily slicing away and having fun with the game I felt rich I could buy the stuff I needed and concentrate on the story telling. Then the slice nerf hit, it hit me pretty hard to be honest, I felt poor as a result of it. I was still enjoying the storytelling, but feeling poor all the time kept nagging at me and I felt pretty annoyed at Bioware for them taking away my feel like a banker print virtual money machine. The game started to slog after lvl 30 the grinding for xp started to become pretty slow but I felt I had to reach at least lvl 50 with one of my characters so I kept at it. With patch 1.1 I was quite happy to see they fixed slicing to be viable again that certainly made me reconsider subscribing for another month. And today I feel like they double shafted me. Plenty of reason in my view to say goodbye to a bunch of devs who obviously have a hard time keeping a concept they themselves introduced alive and obviously are unable to keep me as a paying customer. I am sure many will not agree with me but then why should I care.
  3. Luckily they nerfed it again just in time for me to not subscribe for another month. Would have felt really had, when they would have renerfed slicing just after I would have subbed. Thanks Bioware!
  4. Bioware sure knows how to piss people off, they nerfed yesterdays buff to slicing with todays patch already. Seriously Bioware what the ****...
  5. Bloody hell, they did something right and a day later they take the **** with their customers again..unbelievable.
  6. Please do not tell me they nerfed it again after yesterday's buff ?
  7. I think it would make for a more competitive market if they linked empire and republic trade networks.
  8. I can remember people like you posting the same stuff on the Star Trek Online forums it is free to play now.
  9. As long as you take bountiful and rich missions you will most probably earn a profit now. Good job Bioware.
  10. That would be you in this case..
  11. Looks like there are people with brains in Bioware after all.
  12. Have they fixed slicing yet ? Certainly would be appreciated if they fix that after braking it.
  13. Completely agree with the op, grinding or "working" constantly for your credits in a virtual fantasy world where real world economic constraints are completely uncalled for is not a fun experience. Feeling you are constantly poor is simply not very entertaining. Slicing needs to be buffed in order to make for a more pleasant and entertaining adventure.
  14. You wrote a macro ? as you say you were away from your keyboard ?
  15. So clueless, if people are able to farm their own money they would not need gold farmers.
  16. Somebody tell me why feeling rich by a print money button is a bad thing ? And please do leave any real world economic modelling and other real life nonsense out of it because we are talking about a game here. It enables us to live in a world where real life constraints do not apply, everybody can be rich here, we can use the force so we can be rich. Why should I feel poor, why cant people stand the idea of everybody being rich ?
  17. What sickens me about this whole slicing business is mainly that people obviously can not stand everybody to be rich even in a fantasy where it would not have to matter whatsoever. It is no fun to feel poor in a virtual fantasy world where I am paying for. Why should I continue to pay for something that according to some people needs to resemble real life in such a way that it feels like a drag ? Feeling rich by easy money button is entertaining is happy customers is good business for Bioware is good for the game. Also keeps away gold farmers as people can farm their own gold and have fun at the same time. It really is not a difficult concept to understand, people need to get over themselves just because you like to suffer does not mean others have to.
  18. Again and again I see people saying that you cant be lazy and easily make money by pushing a button. Where does this nonsense come from are you all masochists ? This is a game its primary function is to entertain, I was having fun with my money print button it made me happy it was entertaining me. Bioware's business is entertainment if it entertains people to have access to easy money than this is the path for them to follow, if people have the feeling they are constantly poor it does not make good entertainment. Hence slicing is an excellent gaming concept it entertains people and makes them happy hence they will continue to give Bioware money hence it is good for the game.
  19. If people were allowed to make easy credits as they could before the nerf they would not ever feel the need to make use of gold farmers! This to my understanding was the whole point of the concept of slicing brought forth by Bioware in the first place this concept made it possible for people to concentrate on the game, and not be restricted by credit constraints if they wanted to. Restricting the liquidity in this virtual economic environment makes for less fun and less entertainment, this can not possibly be a good thing for Bioware and their player base. Talking about this game economy as if it is comparable to our real life economy is crazy talk. Especially if it does not matter in a game where the point is to be entertained above all else. Feeling as if you are constantly poor does not make good entertainment, why some people think it is necessary to suffer and be poor if you do not gather stuff for hours and "work" for it in a game is beyond me and it sounds like masochism.
  20. What stopped you from becoming one if us ? are you masochist of some kind ?
  21. I too thought this game was great, especially slicing was a lot of fun, but then they sliced my knee off.
  22. To put an end to all the envious people who for what ever self flagellating reason did not take slicing and so missed out on all of the fun, slicing should be the 4th skill included for everybody so everybody can have their cake and eat it too, its a game after all and not the the real world.
  23. Why should I try other crafting skills while I do not really want to ? I do not want to work in a game I just want to play it.
  24. I am sad because Bioware made their game less fun to play.
