  1. I couldnt find a technical forum, apologies if this is the wrong forum, but here goes. So I tried to download the KOTFE patch. Due to an extremely rural internet connection, my download speeds dont even exceed 250 kb/s, so this took a while. I downloaded it all the same, only to finish and be told "an error happned" - I do not know what error, or why, but it offered to run the repair tool, so I said sure. Said repair tool also took a while, so I had to shut down the launcher. When it started, it basically started downloading the 9 gigs all over again. I cannot get into the game until this is done, but I also don't know what went wrong or how to fix it without losing 2 full days on downloading. If anyone has any advice, I'd appreciate it, but I'd also appreciate it if anyone knew what happned to the 9 gigs of KOTFE I already downloaded. Did the repair tool seriously just threw that way? Because I could've re-downloaded it myself. That is not what "repair" means. If so, what can I do to get this game working? Is there some way to play without the KOTFE files, maybe? P.S - I know Tech forums are often sites of bad publicity, but they would help to have all the same.
  2. I actually agree with this 100%, and I say this as someone who plays in one of those premades virtually all the time. My reasons are not that I get pwned, but the exact opposite: It made GSF boring I loved it at first! I loved zipping around the battlefield in my scout, obliterating all opposition! My ship was specially decked out to beat out all comers and the dogfights where intense and fun. But those days are gone. These days, there is almost never an ounce of challenge in the matches. Its all just mopop and a case of who gets to score the kill first, not who is the best pilot but just who gets the poor scrub first to up their score. Good for points, but there is no challenge nor fun in this for me. I was drawn to GSF because of the chaotic challenge and skill element. But the disparity in skill between our team and most of our enemies has completely sucked the fun out of the game for me. Chasing after free kills is boring, I dont play for that. So I find my playtime being less and less but if there was some way to fix this, I would love for it. Bring back the challenge!
  3. While no doubt a post made out of bitterness, still quoting for truth. SWTOR's strength is it's story and the ability to immerse you completely into it's universe. It's the same magic that KOTOR and KOTOR 2 had. Sadly, that magic ends as soon as you hit 50. The story ends. Fin. And they all lived happily ever after - After that, it's the same as any other MMO. Dailies, dungeons, PvP, raids (Operations), gearing up. But that's not what SWTOR is great at. SWTOR is great for it's story and immersion. Once you hit 50, the big reason to play this game is done. You are indeed better off unsubscribing and playing for free on occasion, then perhaps coming back for Magreb.
  4. I'l throw my name in for the raffle! If picked there would be 2-4 of us coming!
  5. *chuckles* No, no! I'm not that anti-male. Dont get me whrong, being a female gets you in trouble on the internet, but alot of guys are also nice, sane and normal. I wouldnt want to isolate myself from them like that. Besides, as a roleplayer, I -want- to get involved in the community! Not to mention it'd just be whrong to let myself be pushed into a corner by, I'm sorry, ***** teenage boys. No, I'm fine as I am. I'm not actually bothered much lately. Over the years one learns how to deal with these types of people. I'm just confirming what other girls are saying. It is a bit of a problem, especially for those girls who feel uncomfortable simply brushing someone off. Thank you for the suggestion, though!
  6. "Mom, I did it! Yaaaaay!" (Anakin Skywalker after winning the podrace.)
  7. His explanation actually makes sense. There tend to be more guys then girls out there, and even if there wernt, I notice guys only have eyes for the most attractive of females, wich means multiple guys fight over one or two women even when there's plenty of less-attractive females still standing by the sidelines. Now here's where the anonymity of the internet comes in to mess things up: Besides the obvious, I get the feeling most guys, when talking to someone they KNOW is a girl but havnt seen, tend to make up an image of that girl and imagine her as being super-attractive. The "best case" scenario, basicly. In other words, in their mind, she's one of those hot girls wich they need to grab if they can. Men can be kind of primal in that (Girls can also, but I digress), and they tend to go after her like a real hunter, at least the dumb ones. And I can sort of understand the reasoning: Go in hard and fast, if she says no, just move on to the next. Most chance of sucess that way. I dont think it's particularly bright, but we've already established these guys dont qualify for that moniker either way. That said, from experience, to me it happens far more often that guys subtly attempt to initiate a romance over time. They give clear signs of being intrested but dont just go in hard and fast like the trolls do. Either way, a known female generates ALOT of attention, and yes, that is a bother. I dont consider myself a mean person, but I more or less HAVE to be *****y on a regular basis to avoid getting stalked to the point where it ruins my game. It's not much of a bother to me, but it's not right either.
  8. This is pretty much why I avoid using voice-chat whenever I can, and stay at least somewhat vague about my gender when dealing with others. It is true that as soon as you confirm your gender, even without voice chat, one tends to get alot more.."attention". Now, my headset DOUS come equipped with a voice-morphing tool (It's a WoW headset, the voices are of Warcraft NPC's) but I still prefer to avoid it alltogether. So yeah, guys can be very creepy once they find out your real gender. I suppose most are looking for a female companion, and realy, who can blame them? Isnt everyone around their teenage years sort of in "that" period? But can be a bother, so I understand the decision of many girls to go stealth. I personally dont do that. Usually when someone is vague about their gender guys take that as meaning their a guy but unwilling to say it, so I get off the hook fairly easily Besides, I much prefer playing as a female.
