  1. http://i.imgur.com/mMJf5.jpg From another, unrelated, post - from another poster. Just saw it and thought of this. Also, go look at Nyan. Any doubts about the Guardian viability, in regards to DPS, are unfounded responses to the ignorant forum rants. I can assure you, I was getting pretty discouraged scouring the forums, but my own experience with the Guardian has pretty much quelled that.
  2. Agreed whole heartedly, in ever respect.
  3. This would be awesome, haha. I fully support this. Doesn't break the class by adding DPS/other balancing issues.
  4. I believe it's now implemented, has anyone run the Rise of the Rakghouls? Interested to know how it is - cause it looks incredible.
  5. That's hysterical! What a great mechanic, haha
  6. Good, sweet, lord. Just. Man........
  7. very interesting - though, its not a bug. Seems like a complex damage reporting system - not the way I would have gone, but interesting to know, nonetheless.
  8. You're making the assumption/generalization that everyone who's not yet 50 just "don't want it bad enough", or don't want it at all. What a ridiculous concept, made by a ridiculous train of thought. I have a wife, and a full time job, and other obligations that prevent me from playing this game even 3 hours a day, most days, but that doesn't mean that I don't want to enjoy the game in as many ways as possible. The point being made is that joining a pvp match and getting steam rolled is not fun, and makes it impossible to even do the daily. Now, I will say this: at lvl 39 as a Guardian i'm actually standing up to most fights, as long as it's not 5 on 1. There was, however, a lvl 50 operative last night that would jump me from stealth and completely demolish my health bar before I could even get off the ground. Now, this issue is being addressed, 50's will have their own bracket. Everyone can chill out. It's all gonna be ok. Please stop feeding the trolls, and take a deep breath.
  9. my brother, welcome to the wonderful world of modifier keys. Bind Shift+1-= and you've got yourself another 10 buttons. Add ctrl+1-= and you've got 30 keys total. Honestly, though, I only have bound 24 keys, and I do fine. In regards to cyclone slash, your main responsibility is to hold aggro, and whacking 5 guys at once is a great way to do that. Not to mention, as was said before, that with 5 mobs the DPS of cyclone vs slash puts Cyclone at a distinct advantage. My suggestion: For multi mob pulls, cyclone is a great aggro builder, and the DPS output aint bad at all. Not to mention, it's a super fast focus dump. For single boss fights, avoid cyclone slash.
  10. I'm level 37 and have had no problems tanking as long as the group coordinated. If you set up a kill order, or just ask that they focus fire then you'll be fine. I started tanking Flashpoints at the hammer, and haven't had any problems since. In regards to DPS, there's good evidence that the Guardian DPS is absolutely comparable, and his survivability is competitive. It's just a different play style, and honestly doesn't feel incredibly strong till around my lvl (35-37). Doesn't listen to the nay-sayers, my friend. The guardian is absolutely viable, and I really enjoy him in PVP, and PVE. Not to mention - force push.
  11. Agreed, I pretty much annihilate most elites with Doc. Just remember to interrupt anything you can, and you'll end most fights with a considerable health bar.
  12. agreed. I'd also say that most of the republic gear isn't anything to brag about. Kira made a joke about all the fashion designers in the universe joining the dark side, and i'm obliged to agree with her. Damn my Conscience......
  13. I'm lvl 36 and have yet to think "MAN! that fight did NOT take long enough....." I'm guardian spec, and only use Kira. If the content doesn't get MUUUUCH more difficult, I can't even fathom using Doc. Not to mention, I think he's a deuche.
  14. I just wanna encourage you guys, if you're continuing to have this kind of issue with this guy, and believe that your mechanics aren't in question, we might need to analyze you and your companions gear. I was doing synthweaving, and had attained a few moddable pieces which I updated as much as possible, so my gear was pretty much maxed out. Also, consider that this is a really tough fight, and I think the purpose of such might very well be to give you an understanding of how the class will play as you progress. Later, on Tattooine, you will run into 3 elite mobs, that you take on one at a time. They're hella tough, but what you learn here will make you better suited for the upcoming Chapter 1 conclusion, and the later more difficult content. Stay strong, and continue to voice your questions here.
  15. If we're talking about the Sith force user you fight on the mining colony he is definitely intended for around lvl 24.
  16. I went into the Harrower fight's knowing they were going to be hard, thanks to the posts on this forum. I was lvl 32, I believe, equal to them. I leapt in - started wailing, got them down to around half health - maybe a quarter health, and they did their channeled debuff - ran the hell away while they channeled, and Kira gets waylaid. Finished each fight pretty near death, but didn't burn call on the force on any of them. Always, always, always use blade barrier, and the other defense buff. Keep in mind I maintain my gear with every planet.
  17. Props to you for not feeding the troll, well done, sir!
  18. A couple points in vigilance for the upgraded sweep, and upgraded sunder - then all defense, baby. I've had no problems leveling, and i'm 35. In fact, i've soloed all class content without dying, which is, apparently, by these forum standards, something.
  19. I actually didn't mind the chest, legs, hands - but that damn helmet doesn't match at all!
  20. 1.) Call on the Force provides a significant heal for really tough solo fights, it lasts forever. People who don't use this ability, and yet complain about tough content, are out of their minds. This should power you through the toughness of that story boss. Except for the Harrowers, good lord, the harrowers... - the fact that it's on a 20min cooldown is another issue, and, yes, I do that sucks. 2.) Having two DPS specs gives the ability to spec for a PVP centric skill set buff, or a PVE skill set buff. and there you have it.
  21. Have you forgotten that the Jedi Knight destroyed NPC face with extreme prejudice all the way to level 30? For that matter, I'm still wrecking on Alderaan, but it should be noted that every class can mop the proverbial floor with enemies at least until 30, where some skill and understanding of the class is absolutely required to be efficient. By the way, I do not mean to sound rude just wanted to shine some light your experience, and remind you of your own earlier experience with the Guardian.
