  1. I can't wait to get onto Begeren, thanks for the welcome guys. The petition is not what we all want, which is what lead to this decision in the first place. Some still have trouble coming to terms with the fact that RPers want to be on an RP server, who'da thunk it. My names are ready, the guild is already there since that's where Dawn came from, and I've already tested the ping and it's a complete non issue. Gameplay last night was smooth as silk and that's me logging in with a crappy 3G wireless connection from a small town in WA. We are bo-ound for Begeren Colony!
  2. Hi Guys Some of us can't wait for the move to happen and join in your RP community. For those of us who do RP it's been nothing short of a nightmare to endure some on this server, so yes we're hoping BW give them the option to transfer to the Harbinger too. But RP, and proper RP at that, awaits!
  3. Yeah gotta admit, my Tharan has been dressed up like a punk slave since the new top came out. I think the difference is that skimp gear for guys usually just isn't done well, therefore looks terrible to anyone.
  4. Enemies is such a strong word... I prefer 'people I just don't particularly like'. Yeah every server has them but there seems to be a higher proportion of them here for some reason... or maybe the low pop just makes them a lot more noticeable... either way, I'd rather just be rid of them. But to think that BW would scrap APAC servers for me? Really when have I ever said that? No I just want the choice to play on the server of MY choice, because you know, it's my game experience afterall, I should be able to choose where I want to have it and not be forced onto a server because other people want to justify it's existence. If there's no population for APAC as a result of people choosing what server they want to play on, then there is not enough support for an APAC server. Simple really.
  5. Thanks guys. Are there any existing Aussie's on Begeren who can give us an idea of latency for pvp? (I should say, I'm being lazy because I'm at work and haven't read all of the replies)
  6. That is the ultimate resolution, just like other in-game perks that are available for large amounts of credits or cartel coins. Most people would still use cartel coins because it's just easier, but the option is there if people prefer to use credits.
  7. True, but people also don't want to be on a server that they don't want to be on. A mass merge will have hundreds of people on a server that they don't want to be on, for a variety of reasons.
  8. You kind of just answered your own question. Why would people want to play on a server when their primary reason for playing is uncomfortable or not possible?
  9. It's probably more they have an embargoed press release than a scoop but anyway. It'll be transfers, eventhough I'd love it to be cross server stuff
  10. Funny that, considering I'm the one not having issues finding people to play with Open transfers are the answer, everyone gets what they want. If APAC doesn't survive as a result, well thems the breaks
  11. I'll be re-rolling if it's a mass merger, there is just no way I will continue to play with some people if I can help it. Or just another unsub... but hey who really cares
  12. And you have proof of this announcement where? Begeren for me, already got some toons and my names sorted.
  13. Anyone who thought this option would be implemented for free is just kidding themselves of their intelligence. Of course it was always going to be a Cartel item, and frankly who cares. Subs get free coins, use them for pities sake!
  14. Is it? Many games don't even allow you to do it at all, and I think you'll find if you look a bit harder you'll see that it's not as common as you think.
  15. What annoys me most is that the notice we get isn't sufficient. We find out on the day that maintenance is happening that night, which means we have no time to try reschedule.
  16. Cosmetic changes cost Cartel Coins... what's the problem?
  17. Although it would be nice for them to acknowledge us, really not hard to work it out yourself
  18. My partner rolled a pureblood sith gunslinger, just so he could slap him around.
  19. There are comments, there are complaints, and then there is whiny cry baby nonsense. There is a distinguishible difference betweent three. Whilst this thread began with comments and complaints, it has more recently become whiny cry baby nonsense. People posting walls of texts full of expletives towards Bioware (which are removed, mostly because they are reported by other users), accusations against Bioware's motives which no one here actually has any proof of other than circumstantial, a complete and utter lack of understanding as to what the issues behind the scenes may be (there could be unknown technical problems, contractual, legal issues even that they are just not going to tell you about), or attacking people just for having a difference of opinion fits in this category. I was quite happy when people came here to ask for updates in a calm and mature manner, sadly though not everyone learnt how to ask things politely of formulate an appropriate response. As for the post further down as to why I'm still here. I get bored at work, need something to occupy my time. Coming here and providing a different point of view is often amusing. Originally it was to stand up for those who I knew couldn't or didn't post here who didn't agree with the merge proposal, but lately we've mostly all decided to give up and just move to other servers. And as for making the community look bad, honestly I really don't care anymore. I used to when I still enjoyed playing on Gav, and I put a lot of effort into trying to turn the server around planning server events, updates etc. But you know, when it all gets thrown back in your face, taken advantage of, accused of things that just aren't ture and everything just becomes some massive drama for no particular reason, I stopped giving a stuff. I think most would.
  20. I dunno about that, a lot of the Carnival debacle wasn't helped by morons who just don't know how to cope with a bad situation, hardly Carnival's fault. Yeah they ballsed it, but it wasn't as if they did it deliberately.
  21. Good news is never delayed. It is usually hinted at in advance or even leaked. Bad news is covered up. Any solution they inact will still have a negative impact on some people. If they merge into one server some will not be happy with the ruleset. If they close and merge to US, those who like low ping will be upset. It's more likely that they're just playing a 'suck it and see' approach and hoping the problem will fix itself, but since most people still playing are more intent to cry like babies and make the communities look bad, I sincerely doubt it will.
  22. For Asia yes, not for Australia. It creates the same problem for the people on the good side at the moment
  23. That map, is awesome, and it's more proof that game servers should be located in Perth to optimise both sides. The existing set up probably means it's linking through Guam or it's tunnelling back to Perth then to Asia.
