  4. For the sake of completeness. I am Tam/KBN's VG cotank. This is the parse that goes along with the one he posted. For individual fights: Bestia- I tank the two monsters on the right in the beginning. I pop riot gas after the tentacle spawns and my position is stable away from them. Reactive shield gets popped when there is about 35s left on the cooldown of riot gas. Riot gas again after second tentacle. Adrenal and medpack as needed for the rest of the fight. Tyrans- riot gas after 3rd simple goes out/inferno is applied. All other cooldowns as needed. Calphayus- Left portal first. Final phase Tam guards me and I stall attacking boss until last second. Drag him to get exploded. Kite him while waiting for next seed. Raptus- Taunt if Tam gets punted or drops below %40 health. Drop riot gas after the execution that follows cursing. Drop guard on way to challenge and get guarded by Tam. Stand in front for entire challenge, use reactive shield and shoulder cannon during challenge. Repeat as necessary and hope Tam doesn't decide to "accidentally" let me keep Raptus to find out if spinning attack actually is an AE attack. After second challenge pop riot gas after every execution when it is up.
  5. I believe the Juggernauts using assassin armorings thing came out way back when set bonuses first came out. At that time the Juggy set bonus was complete junk, and assassin's was awesome. Whether it was a good idea or not, I don't know, but I am fairly confident it was done.
  6. No need to hold back on Nefra. You have two tanks standing there with nothing to do. If you know you can't hold threat against your DPS going all out, there is no reason not to use both your taunts. Being able to hold threat with taunt fluffing is ideal. But taunts are cheap. If you don't need them for mechanics there is no reason not to throw a couple extras out just for an extra margin. For instance I have had DPS pull Grob'thok off me with 25% remaining. The sheer amount of kiting you have to do in that fight will greatly hinder your TPS. In short, if your threat is terrible, work on your rotation. But in the mean time, taunt as much as is needed.
  7. KeyboardNinja wrote this up. Using these rotations you can hold threat even when gunslingers are precasting orbital. In short, your tanks can do better. Guardian The only deviation from this opener is if you get extremely unlucky on focus regeneration (which can happen) and you find yourself below 2 focus after Guardian Slash + Riposte. If that happens, use Sundering Strike instead of Hilt Strike (as noted) and put Hilt Strike after Challenging Call. Just remember: do not use Saber Throw! 1. Combat Focus 2. Force Leap 3. Force Sweep 4. Guardian Slash 5. Riposte 6. Taunt 7. Hilt Strike (Sundering Strike if out of focus) 8. Blade Storm 9. Riposte 10. Master Strike 11. Challenging Call Shadow This opener always works exactly as printed. You will always have enough force to do this, and no procs can change the order of abilities. Just don't forget to use Kinetic Ward first. 1. Force Pull 2. Force Speed (to boss) 3. Project 4. Slow Time 5. Force Breach 6. Mind Control 7. Double Strike 8. Project 9. Force Potency 10. Telekinetic Throw 11. Mass Mind Control 12. Slow Time Vanguard This has the most possible variation of any of the tank openers. The main thing that can change is Energy Blast, which often procs sooner. Use it as soon as it is available. The same thing goes with Stockstrike and Pulse Cannon. When in doubt though, the below sequence has a high probability of working in just about every situation. Just remember: do not use Harpoon! 1. Load shoulder cannon 2. Storm 3. Battle Focus 4. Shoulder Cannon 5. Stockstrike 6. Shoulder Cannon 7. High Impact Bolt 8. Shoulder Cannon 9. Neural Jolt 10. Pulse Cannon 11. Shoulder Cannon 12. Explosive Surge 13. Stockstrike 14. Sonic Round
  8. You would sucker some poor sap into joining us? You are an evil mean vicious man. Don't apply. FLEE. Run for your very lives before it is too late. Definitely don't reply here. And whatever you do don't talk to Tam, A'jantis, or wait... we have a recruitment officer? This is how reverse psychology works right? Eh, close enough. Oh yeah, FLEE!! Your very soul is at stake.
  9. Psssh, Tam's outfit is boring, standard Jedi fare. Probably the only char's outfit who would qualify as "asking for it" is mine.
  10. How about something like a Derp factor for each fight. Each time you do something you shouldn't have, your derp goes up. For instance: Grob'Thok - Each pipe smash is a +1 Corrupter Zero - Get caught in Gravity Field +3, Get Hit by Giant Laser Beam +6, Highest stack of nanites is +1/stack. Bestia - Highest Stack from Arching Assault is +1/stack, Eat a lightening fence +10. Tyrans - +1/tick inferno. +5 For getting the ignored debuff. Raptus - Eat the knockback +2 Council - +1/stack for highest stack of debuff. Obviously the numbers are pulled out of nowhere, roughly according to the severity of the mistake. For a more accurate assessment of the tank's skill, you would need to look at all the pulls on a given night and go with the total.
  11. The metric system always uses s to indicate seconds of time. I checked about 10 different languages on wikipedia just to make sure I wasn't speaking out of the wrong orifice. The only place the metric system uses " is for referring to arcseconds, a measurement of angle. Given that we are not discussing an extremely tiny angle (somewhere in the neighborhood of .004 degrees) " is the wrong unit to apply to your measurement. Hmmm, I need a "The more you know" gif of some sort here.
  12. Aetideus... 18" means 18 inches. 18s means 18 seconds. Please quit using " it makes my brain hurt.
  13. KBN's cotank here, so when he mentions a missed taunt... Anyway: Muertat - Vanguard - Shield Specialist - 36-6-4 - 8 Man - Bestia Tam takes Bestia first when she comes down DTPH - 2384 Biggest Hit 10,098 Muertat - Vanguard - Shield Specialist - 36-6-4 - 8 Man - Tyrans Tam took him first. I died the first time I took him. DTPH - 2019 Biggest Hit 12,318 (Ignoring my trip through badly placed inferno) Muertat - Vanguard - Shield Specialist - 36-6-4 - 8 Man - Calphayus Past - Future - Future DTPH - 1417 Biggest Hit - 6736 Muertat - Vanguard - Shield Specialist - 36-6-4 - 8 Man - Raptus I offtank this one, only taunting when Tam is Launched, or falls below 60% DTPH - 1897 Biggest Hit - 26468 Muertat - Vanguard - Shield Specialist - 36-6-4 - 8 Man - Dread Council Swap on every kick during first phase, Brontes during second, Bestia third. DTPH - 907 Biggest Hit - 12022
  14. The Grey Jedi Order (http://greyjediorder.enjin.com/home) is currently: 2/5 TFB HM 5/5 SV SM 5/5 DF SM 4/5 DP SM
  15. I am thinking you could do a KP Nim run (possibly undermanning a 16 man to make it more challenging.) On trash pulls you assign two tanks to grab whatever. The rest act as DPS. Since this is presumably a mostly tank group, you can simulate overeager DPS by taunting off them and seeing how long it takes them to react. Bone Gnasher is your awareness/reaction test. Everyone stands in a cluster except for the current target. The goal is to not cleave the group, and not pull him out of the cluster's melee range. No voice callouts for who has agro. Jarg and Sorno are used for tank swapping. You can add in additional requirements, for instance: Must be kept as far from eachother as possible. Jarg has a cleave/knockback, you must stand with your back against a wall. Swap in tank groups at will. Foreman Crusher is the annoyingly easy test of proactive cooldowns. Use the droid thingy to make them pay attention to their cotank's debuffs. They must use focus target, and call out when the other tanks must taunt off them as quickly as possible. Karraga is your slow kiting test. Or you could just run EC Nim, and if they pass that they can probably handle any tank swapping at least.
  16. Has anyone started an open channel just to advertise openings in an ops group? It would be nice to be able to keep an ear out while getting dailies done and the like instead of hanging out on fleet. Plus you wouldn't need to go spamming all the people on your friends list when your healer calls in sick.
  17. I know that one reason I forget to, is that while soloing I usually have my healing companion out. I don't worry about my health, she takes care of it for me.
  18. Garza is female? I have no idea how you humans can tell. I mean, all your ears look the same.
  19. The whole "sir" issue is explained somewhere. Basically, since the military is filled with a variety of species which may or may not have sexual characteristics that are recognizable to other species, they went to "Sir" for everyone. That way you don't piss off any blue elephants by calling them "Sir" when they are clearly neuter. How can you not tell what sex they are? It is obvious just looking at their ear lobes. You are obviously a specieist.
  20. For customizable weapons for your companions, I just saw quest rewards on Balmorra that were green and moddable. Elara, and the droid both had one available. The cat's gun was standard though. Keep your eye out if you need one.
  21. Here is the blaster: Elara's Advanced Blaster http://www.torhead.com/item/5ixFuft
  22. As to 5B, one of the pistols she gets is green, and upgradable.
