  1. I bet there is a whole department dedicated to calculating the re-roll rate and player activity increase on servers when a new FoTM class is introduced/buffed. New players come in...perhaps new subscriptions...new economic changes...new teaming incentives...Probably why it's in every game still.
  2. The pvp aspect is only a insignificant part of it though. There are so many other things that disabling xp could be used for that they are too numerous to list. Honestly, I cannot see why they did not put this in to begin with.
  3. The whole point of this is to let people who take the time/effort/money to fully 'deck-out' their character be able to reap the benefits. There is nothing wrong with this. Post 50 rewards/money/gear/crafting is vastly superior to 49 in every way for economic purposes/gain. So anyone who stays at 49 for that long would lose out on a great many things. The previous poster fails to acknowledge this in his reasoning which is why it also is pointless. He also implies that people who put more time/effort/money into their characters should NOT get any advantages over those who do not.
  4. There are already people at 49 playing in warzones. It's part of the game. What you mean to say is that you don't want people to enjoy the benefits of investing time/money into making a superior character to your own grinding-gear-equipped level 15 character? Because you already can. It just doesn't last long enough for you to enjoy it. What if I wanted to gear out my character at level 30? Take a while to craft all artifact gear for it? I should be able to enjoy it for a while no? Or do I not pay for the same game that you do? Seeing as how there are vastly superior benefits to be had post level 50, your concerns for people stopping at level 49 are unwarranted and selfish in nature.
  5. There are often times that I make characters to level with friends, but when they are offline there just isn't much to do. I can't gather items, credits or even pvp because I will level in the process. Additionally, I often find myself trying to do all the missions on a planet to get commendations for items that are for my level. But by the time I get the commendations, I am already 3-4 levels higher and those commendations are now, more or less, useless. I would love the ability to just disable my XP and do missions on a planet for the items and whatnot, so that I can enjoy great commendation gear for my current level. Even crafted gear/items quickly become obsolete, and often take time to make, sometimes being outdated by the time you craft them. If you enjoy to pvp a lot as well, you might just want the valor/commendations/credits and not the xp from the warzones. If you don't like to disable XP, maybe they could even make the XP bank/save up (kind of like a second rested bar). TBH there is no reason why we shouldn't have one. It's optional and completely for the sole use/enjoyment of the user, and in no way effects the game play of others.
  6. No there is a fix. It just means that mmos would have to work like real life. The strong get stronger, the weak get weaker. You would have your warzones though. But people seem to think that real life logic does not apply in video games. They like to think that everyone can be the hero. Truth of the matter is, as long as skill vs. rewards continues to be neglected, this problem will always exist. People will continue to live in the delusion that everyone is equal and will drive themselves crazy to try and make it work (communism is funny that way). Heck, this is even a weakness in Democracy. But hey, not everyone can accept this cold truth. It's why we have warm and fuzzy Bioware to make us feel better, and help us live in ignorance.
  7. don't even bother explaining it to this guy. he's been trolling all day, and is generally inept.
  8. Yea I know it's not hard to see, but for a lot of people it seems to be. I think it had something to do with people not being able to accept that skilled players exist, and that they want to be given more rewards for being better. (Almost like IRL!)
  9. The bad players are content with being bad, so screw the rest. AmIRite?
  10. 1) they don't mix factions. they have stated this many times 2) why would you even try? playing better still yields no rewards. you kill a bad player and they spawn on your team? you would still be teamed with the same bad players and people would still leave warzones. you say that it would make everyone happy? only if people play warzones for the fun of it, which let me tell you, is not the case most of the time. people play them to get rewards and to advance their pvp career. they play to get better, and enjoy better competition the better they get. Warzones would still be underpopulated, factions still imbalanced.
  11. Man people just keep missing this. Why are the warzones starting at 4v8? This is what I am trying to get you to think about. You have to focus on the CAUSE of the problem, not the problem itself Bad players are repeatedly put up against superior players and continue to lose. Worse yet, any good players on the teams of these bad players are going to leave. Why? Because even IF they win, they get nothing for their efforts(No ranked warzones). They will just be teamed up with the same players over and over again. This is why warzones have decreased populations and a lot of people are leaving them. This is also why faction imbalances occur. Skilled players band together because they have to. The lack of ranking system would otherwise group them with inferior players, which they would just leave the game. THIS is why SKILL is so affecting a gear based game. Better players still want to be rewarded for playing better than others, but Bioware is denying them that.
  12. The reduction of rewards for the losing side would have been fine, IF they implemented ranked warzones. But now, bad players are repeatedly put up against superior players and continue to lose. Worse yet, any good players on the teams of these bad players are going to leave. Why? Because even IF they win, they get nothing for their efforts. They will just be teamed up with the same players over and over again. This is why warzones have decreased populations and a lot of people are leaving them. This is also why faction imbalances occur.
