  1. All this stuff is sounding good to me. Combined with the fact you don't need to gear your companions overall leveling should be much more fun to experience. I've already got my fair share of characters who've smashed through most of this stuff but I won't be so adverse to creating new characters anymore. I'd even be interested in going back and handling the exploration type side missions cause of the scaling. Question though! Will we be able to go back and do Explorations missions and Heroics after we start Fallen Empire?
  2. I'm surprised there is such a strong negative reaction to the level sync feature. I disagree with most all of the reasons I read, but there were two criticisms I wanted to give my two cents on. Firstly, regarding having trouble soloing daily areas. If you can't solo a daily area when you are at the appropriate level then you are **** at the game. You can't seriously expect me to believe there is anyone out there that has a problem playing through Yavin IV dailies atm by themselves? Either your gear if really bad if this is the case (you should be able to do Yavin IV with the free gear) or you really need to look up some guides on the basics of how to play the game. Secondly, regarding Heroics on low level planets. Heroics were designed to be group content. Therefore it makes sense that you'd be expected to group up to do them, no? The proposed changes have made all heroics relevant again both from a challenge standpoint and a reward standpoint. SWTOR is an MMO, multiplayer is in the name. If the devs wanted you to solo heroics they would have given them a solo-mode like they have done with various Flash Points they felt were important to the story. Since they didn't they obviously want to maintain that content as GROUP content. Suck it up and group up. Or get good and solo the Heroics because you are skilled rather than because none of the enemies can damage you. Anyway, really seems like a feature most people will realise isn't so bad once they are forced to try it. But then maybe I'm too wrapped up in my own perspective on it.
  3. All sounds really good to me. Really excited about the level sync feature especially, but pretty much everything I just read makes me super happy. Edit: To elaborate, the idea of being able to go back to other planets and finish up quests I skipped over originally, or partake in all the heroics or help low level friends level without being bored out of my mind is why this feature in particular appeals to me. The fact you'll still get appropriate EXP for your level is great, and I've never had fun running through killing everything with basic attacks. I know the people I was leveling didn't really find it compelling WATCHING me do that either lol. I admit to being confused though about accuracy now. All I know about accuracy is that you are told to get melee/ranged accuracy to 100%, and force/tech to 110% (same thing since the latter is 10% higher) as your highest priority for gear once you hit max level. Is that still that case? If so, won't it be hard to properly balance accuracy against the new crit stat? If it's NOT the case, is accuracy worthless now, only relevant when something happens to temporarily reduce your accuracy below 100%?
  4. Uh, thanks for the info? I guess? I'm not a fan of the current pack-based micro-transaction system. Paying money to roll the dice is total ********. If it were accompanied by all items being available for direct sale but you having the chance to get want you want cheaper if you get lucky in a pack then I'd be more accepting of this practice. But instead you're going full steam ahead with the pack system and actually reducing what little focus there already is on direct sales! You've got an exploitative system currently in place for your micro-transactions and you are not improving it, simply tweaking the same system. You'll get no thanks from me for that. And don't get me started on the fact you've released armour sets in the past (and presumably in the future) where some pieces of armour were rarer than others! That is mobile gaming next level dickery. I am not against buying in game items for real money. Not even close. If items I wanted were available for direct sale I'd be happy to buy them as long as they weren't at Warframe levels of overpriced. Hell, even then I would probably buy occasionally. But I've never gotten anything from a pack that I actually wanted, it has all come from the GTN. Thanks to my past experiences with the pack system I will only buy items for direct sale. So by cutting back on that system, which you barely use currently, you will be ensuring I don't partake in micro-transactions. I hope the whales guzzling down hypercrates and farting them out onto the GTN keep you in business.
  5. This all sounds good to me. I've always thought it sucked that the release of new end game PVE content heralded the current content becoming more and more obsolete. Must be a fair bit of work bringing it all back up to balance, but I for one appreciate the effort. Thanks team.
  6. My prediction is that the meat of the companion content will be with the five new shared companions. I expect they'll come with full conversation tracks, some will be romanceable and that they'll have similar levels of reactivity to the companions in the base class stories. I also think that each class will be given the option to recruit their old companions and love interests, but that they won't have a large amount of new content. I imagine they will have a rather cookie cutter roll in the main story, where say Kira and Jaesa have the same role for the Knight and Warrior respectively. You could consider it similar to Ashley/Kaiden in Mass Effect 2/3 I suppose. And it has been heavily implied we'll have the option to kill some of our old companions, so I imagine there will be an obligatory LS/DS choice somewhere where LS means letting an old comp die for the greater good and DS means saving them at the cost of an objective or lots of civilians or something. With regards to companions from other classes, we've been promised some limited involvement, but I doubt it'll actually be full on recruitment.
  7. I know this is an old thread, but thanks for making it. Have had Ashara written off as a lost cause for the longest time. With this guide I'll have her affection maxed in less than a week. Thank you very much.
  8. Liking the look of the Sorcerer changes. Of the four classes talked about so far, I am the most excited for them. The two new Lightning abilities look awesome.
  9. I really like the new textures on the guns. Nothing wrong with wood I guess, but I prefer the metal look. Mira's armour seems fitting, giving Calo Nord's was last and they are both bounty hunters. Would like to see Mandalore's armour from TSL though sometime. Really loved his look in that game.
  10. Needing a full set is definitely something of an inconvenience. I personally tend to role with sets though, so I'm one of the people who isn't terribly inconvenienced by this. I don't think I'd ever bother just summoning one piece of one set on an alt anyway. Consequently, I'm happy with the collections menu. Sorry to the people who are inconvenienced. The amount of vitriol in the thread is disgusting though. Seems like a lot of posters only have one setting - rage mode. I try to always be calm and polite but firm when complaining in real life. I don't understand why people can't carry that over onto the internet.
  11. I changed my Bounty Hunter into a Cathar, since I wasn't happy with how she looked anyway. Really felt that a Cathar would be a perfect fit for the role of a hunter and warrior, too. It also tickles me thinking of mmy Cathar being the class that interacts with Mandalorians the most, considering their histories. Doubt I'll make any more. I don't like doubling up on any race other than human.
  12. I'd have to say I'm pretty happy, personally, with everything added in this patch. The appearance design kiosk is of course great, since things that seemed good in character creation can really come to grate on you and the pricing is handled in a fair manner, with you paying for each feature, meaning you can change hairstyles of some other trivial thing cheaply. I like that new hairstyles and colours and stuff made their way in along with the Cathar. I take it that the hairstyles were largely a trial right now, to see how the community reacted to some styles that might feel a little odd with the tone of the game and clip with armour and hoods and stuff. That is why they are currently restricted to humans, right? I am perfectly okay with those issues though, since I can choose another hairstyle easily with the appearance kiosk now if that turns out to grate on my nerves. Hope to see more awesome hairstyles soon! Especially love the female braided style - I'd have to watch RotJ again to check, but I think that its Leia's hairstyles when she was kept as a slave, no?
  13. Everything I could possibly say on the matter has already been said multiple times, so I'll just add that I think forcing us Asia-Pacific players over on to the NA servers is a terrible idea. If I thought that being on an NA server was worth it for the extra population, I would already be on an NA server. This is retarded.
