  1. Not a bad list at all in fact. About the last point concerning the uselessness of the Corellia map's loading: the loading in this game is horrible. It is one of the 3 reasons I chose not to renew my sub for the summer and come back after... Belsavis was a pain, I can't even imagine that they did even worse or just as bad with Correlia.
  2. Better yet, have those awesome, oh so good, PvP players be able to vote themselves into a special server where only players with a certain PvP goodness rank can go. You're the cream, you deserve to be on top. I just don't like cream in my coffee so i'll put you on the side. For the sake of argument, I love PvP. In games that doesn't have gear check. In this case, that's hardly possible.
  3. I for one preferred GW2's beta much better than TOR's. But that's just not the question here. I agree with #1 up to a point: I had to experience SWTOR's story telling with a second leveling thru of the same faction to figure that there was a repetitiveness I could not seem to get around and could not stand much. But still I find that it makes me like my character a bit more. I just do not like that you can't choose with more freedom who comes along with you on your companion list. I am on the fence with #2: in SWTOR's beta, I grouped and interacted a whole lot. It stopped happening so much about 1 month and a half after launch (and of playing on my part). Then I was pretty much getting into a more loner style of play. #3 : sorry but it IS true, SWTOR is just so static and sterile. It needs more NPCs all around to populate (artificially) the maps. Because (server transfers are showing that to me) the servers themselves can't really cope with a large number of ppl in the same place. Oh and it's not all it needs, but that's one thing that comes to mind all the time to me. #4: I think that being innovative in what you offer to players throughout the gaming experience is always nice. I also love that I have endgame stuff to do: if you had to level up an alt every time you hit level-cap, that would be stupid imo. But putting everything at a level cap is also a big mistake: it makes sure that when the cap is raised, everything that was previously endgame is now more or less obsolete. Until they do what Blizzard did with updates old instances: cute but just not it, really. #5: Maybe what the article says is true, idk. And in the launching days and early weeks of a game, about every company should be fully (read over) staffed to better address the concerns of players as the game does its baby steps. And then that big amount of employees is cut. And then when the cruising speed of the game's development is attained, even more cuts. But to take one example: the original UI for SWTOR was a horrible thing that looked ugly and felt sticky like a dead roach. It did take some time for them to come up with some custom tools... and it just didn't cut it with me. (GIVE US locked X/Y axis)
  4. It's so easy to gear up in this game, I think you should look to other options. For one, crafting your own Rakata gear is a good start. Also the dailies on Belsavis can at least provide you with 2 good pieces to modify your gear with. And eventually get some rakata gear from there too. And do some HM Fps. You've got dailies AND a weekly to do those that you should not ski. Mind you, I used to do the daily about 2-3 times a week tops.
  5. Well, if you don't have time to level a alt, I think Ops are a big no-no. I for one understand what you mean: I can barely play more 45 minutes in a row, sometimes not even that. I had stopped playing for lack of stuff to do at 50. So I just re-rolled an alt.
  6. Totally agree that SW factions are not easily identifiable to DS and LS. I remember the PnP RPG of SW got it right, for me at least. Luke Skywalker was the protagonist of a story where he and his companions were the good guys. But he also had DS points. Still, I think that eventually "something" could be done for associating yourself with new factions. Heck, RIFT, which is a 2 faction game, is about to go that way. Providing a new concept of 3 ration pvp while keeping the earlier 2 factions around.
  7. Expectations were too high. I remember getting into a beta and asking myself "oh crap, should I try to find someone to sell my pre-order to?" Then when the game launched I thought the game would improve immensely over the first few weeks/months so I picked a 6-months subscription. I unsubbed so fast after I got my sin to 50. I can hardly play more than 40 minutes at a time (sometimes an hour by pushing it), so beyond doing dailies over and over (boring), PvE had nothing for me. And PvP just got too long to wait for Qs.
  8. Yeah. Swtor does not work the way traditional PnP rpgs work. Or more classic video game rig titles for that matter. SI/JC use will. SW/JK use strength. Smug/IA uses cunning. Troop/BH uses aim. So Will will raise everything you have to raise that matters to your class. No thinking or planning about trading off some "magic power" to get some more "physical power". It all goes up together! Wait until you get to level 50 (PvP gear is the worst that way) where you need to acquire 1 set of gear to strip down and another set of gear to put the stripped mods into.
  9. They might actually be succeeding rather than be trying. Didn't Yoda say something along the lines of "don't try, you either do it or not do it"?
  10. Clearly it is abuse of power. If that is their way calling bluff, it does not look that. And if they want room for discussion, is closing the thread so fast the best way to do that? But it's ok, they can close all the threads they want, or even ban me for all i care. unsubbed+1
  11. Didn't have a problem at all when I did that fight but... I was tank specced (darkness), which is pretty powerful in and of itself. What spec are you? Also, bringing a friend is gonna be your fastest/easiest/most accessible option. And if you find THAT fight hard, indeed wait till end of act 1. And do not go check on google what the end of act 1 is all about, you'll see so many spoilers.
  12. I"ll admit that, like OP I too find the whole of swtor zones quite lifeless. It's not about benches, it's about livelihood. If there are things such as cameos or ongoing discussions lying around in the worlds, I have not seen one. And once I tried to do an alt (got 1 rep main and 1 imp main), then a 2nd and 3rd, i never got one up to level 20 because I was under the impression: oh, well here I am.... again. Ok let's do this and... no I'd rather not. Maybe I could find a new quest hub so I'm not doing the same... Nah I'd rather not.
  13. I play Imp side on canderous ordo. It's dying fast. Very fast. Fleet pop at peak times was around 250 last month, now it's barely 125. You can blame me a little, I quit.

    @Healers who unsubbed

    I don't know how healers fare at lvl 50 in PvP, but I've been trying to level up a Merc healer lately and... no just no. I get no real help from my teammates. I DO get focus fired all the time and I understand that, I did it with my assassin: spot a healer ? get him down now! I DO get that I don't have all my skills/tools/survival assets yet. But it is no fun seeing that as the 2nd best healer of my side, I get BELOW 50k about 90% of the time. I am not the best healer in this game, I know. It's fair that you tell me. But if I had SOME help/protection, it would be nice. Mind you, it may be that not all servers/factions are the same.
  15. Down by 25% heh? And just by how much will it drop once the big titles of 2012 come out?
