  1. what trolling could you do one way or the other. i can say the repuiblic sucks on any server regurdless if i have an empire character. why have to move to a new server, if lets say, my guild and its few hundred members all want to play together on both sides. why not just stay on oone server where our guild, and all of our other guid friends are? in a core pvp game it makes sense, but not for swtor, theres no need for it because theres nothing that will hurt the game from one guy on two sides. its not like on ps where you could sit on vent and give away all of the atk plans of the enemy empire, and with zone limits you cant zerg anything.
  2. it has been done before, and with great sucess. the diffrence was, and this is why people are annoyed, they sent invites out over entire days. you might get 10-15 waves a day, over 12 hours. invites would be sent out so that many more peopel got on quicker, while still allowing players to move though the early zones so they didnt clog. and it worked fine. BW didnt do that, theyt sent a few waves out, over a few hours then stopped for a day. thats why people got annoyed. and thats what they did wrong. some people complained. some people (liek me) said nothing because my pre order was my fault, and i delt with that.
  3. well its by no means the first, it was only really recently did games start doing that (and by recently i mean of recent years) ill agree im not a huge fan of it but the other problem is the game isnt focused around pvp either. what i mean is games focused around it like have very big gameplay mechanics around the idea of area control of pvp. certian benifits a faction can actually claim. swtor doesnt have it, swtor is a rpg first, and a pvp game second. while it was built with the intetion of having pvp, it wastn built around the foundation of being pvp. EDIT: above me. i wouldnt call it a trend either, the thing is the majority of MMO's dont do this, because the majority of them are not pvp games, theya re games with pvp. a pvp mmo would have been planetside, darkfall, warhammer. games whos entire core revolves around pvp. games like this, are not core pvp games. the core of this game is a story line, pvp was a high priority and integrated at every design level yes, but it doesnt have a core mechanical gameplay effect with pvp. and the majority of servers arent even pvp servers, farther reducing the need for it.
  4. hope? hope? pffffffft. i redeemed at the last second, im not just a decemberist, im like the pure blood decemberist. you 21/1 guys are like half breeds, ant got nothing on me.
  5. well it woudlnt be lore breakign i guess, since it never stated what colors were what (and in fact lucas has in other moveis and games added colors never seen in orginal trilogy) theres nothign wrong with wanting it. and you can have a argument on weather or not light can be emited in a black color, or weather or not a wavelength can if not light. end of the day is BW's choice. though id say hoenstly, as much as id love a black saber, it would likly look like crap in this game. most of what you wear is dark, and the enviroments are not all that great for it either. youd likly not even see it most of the time.
  6. becuase he wants a actual log of what hes doign to farther improve his skill, you recommend a game not built around pvp to do that.... its that same, totally off key advice that led poland just being given to hitler.
  7. itswell written, but im seeing alot of information here, that conflicts with otherplayers posts on the forums, and im going to stick with the majority on this one.
  8. except they are stilld oing this, on the 20th. this is just an early access that they are staggering, i assume to try and get people in a wave past each level point, so at lunch the newbie areas are as clutter free as possible. that said, on launch day there will still be everyone logging on, any lag will still happen as well as queue times. this will just cut down on "some" content lag. but even then there will likyl be alot. im not saying they did anything wrong, im just saying that this launch doesnt solve the problem you claim it to. itsolves a diffrent one.
  9. your ratign scale is skewed. 3 would not be pretty darn good, it owuld be average. story wise the game gets a 5, like id give any of the old republic games. gameplay wise it gets a 2.5 to 3. its combat system is lack luster, there isnt a big enough difffrence between faction choices, and animations still look rather stiff. sound wise id give the game a 4, the voice acting is great, but idk, im just not impressed by sound effects. visually the game gets a 3, it looks good, but it looks to muhc like a cartoon. it will age well but i still dont like it. overall id give the game a 3. it has the foundation of an average game, but its bells and whistles are shiny and loud.
  10. man im not just dec, im late dec, like dec 17 late. i wont be getting intil 2012......time to load up skrim and kill dragons with my fist.
  11. well he could, but then again he is playing an MMO for a reason, id honestly just pop in my OR 1 or 2 and get better combat if i wanted to just solo everything... but idk how bad it is. i know everyone but me in my guild are in game, so im just sitting on the sidelines killing dragons and killing orcs.
  12. im not sure what oyu mean by linking double posts, thats lost on me totally. and im always lurking about the forums, send me a pm if you want to discuss anything at length. sorrya bout your life issues. i know how it goes, lost family to cancer, me and my sister own a house, i take care of my dad from time to time (stroke) i was never trying to disvalidate somethign you said. but good night. almost 4am here, over a day without sleep, so ima get some before i have to start driving.
  13. i didnt say i quit the game because of bugs at launch, i said i played the game from launch. and then i quit. want the fullr easons? classes were boring, the quests were repetivitve after onyl 15 minutes of play time. it was impossible to level with any sort of realistic speed by grinding, you had to quest, questing took me more time runnign back and forth then playing, id gladly have spent three times longer grinding then questing, but sadly it was (untill about 6 months ago) about 50 times longe, if you were lucky. the game lacks ambition, finding cool gear was a numbers thing, it made tiered gear the new hot thing that everyone copied. meanign that from levels x to x you wanted this peice of gear, gone were the days of 50 wizards standing next to each other, and each one diffrent. nope, out of a million of them, youd have 3 of them not wearing the same thing, and they were inferior in everyway because of it. the game became so gear oriented that it made diablo 2 look silly, the game made no strives to innovate classes just change looks. i coudl wirte paragraphs on paragraphs of why i dont liek wow, but i didnt think i should becuse of three reasons. 1 wow is old, people know what it is, theres nothign i can say that will inform them on anything. 2 people are going to have their own opinons. no matter what is ay if you disagree your going to write a posts arguing the point (or apparently my lack of point) 3 the thread had so many pages, my unique insight was moot. i didnt like anything about wow, at all. it was all boring, it was crap, it was easy. there was never a challenge, just a time sink, wow forgot what mmo's were about but got popular anywyas. and then ruined mmo's for years and more years to come. the "wow clones" are toxic to development, but you paint a red car blue and it sells better, all cars get painted blue, even if blue causes cancer. then theres the other notion. that with the time i had with swtor so far, the two games have nothign in common. everything is diffrent. now i coudl go on all the days about the things in this game i dont like, but none of them stop me from playing. sure combat could be more entertaining, and animations could look better. diversity would be appreciated greatly, and using the whole mirror class system is dated and dumb. empire should have their classes, republic should have their own classes, sure you can have similure roles, but their should be faction specific ones aswell. and mirror roles shouldn't be as close as they are. in the end swtor may or may not last more then a few months with me. unless combat gets worked on i cant imagine pvp remaining fun for long, but thats an inherint problem with this type of game. and they didnt do anythign wrong here, its just my opinion. if you dont like wow or you do, wont make any matter here, because both games feel very diffrent, they have diffrent str's and weakness. but i dont like wow, i can tolerate this, and i will until something else comes along. maybe diablo 3, maybe guild wars, maybe planet side 2. whichever comes first. mien my spelling, and grammatical errors, i know their there, im just not proof reading this thing, take it as you will. and i dont mean to sound cocky, self centered, ********ed or a jerk. text cannot convey emotion, and i can understand when one persons digital words are misunderstood. you seemed to take some kind of offene, and for that i apologies, none of this is written with malice, hate or any sort, just calm ambiguity.
  14. as someone who played wow at launch let me tell you, after two weeks i uninstaleld my disks, bought a shovel, and buried that game in the ground, and have my dogs relive them selves there everynight since. i never looked back. wow was garbage.
  15. he never at all said he was todl hed get in EA, he never said anythign other then he was going to bed, and wasnt getting in becuase of a sep order date. if anything he calmly stated he knew he wasnt getting in because of it, and you are all raging at him, for no real reason.
  16. well, technically it woudlnt matter. see people can work while other people get off. i mean, my taco bell is 24 hours, never closes, but no one there works more then 8 hours at a time..
  17. not really...ive jsut dicovered that i wotn have enough to order a pizza tonight after doing all the bill budgets....all of my hope...just gone. on topic, the numbers look good, i can understand the complaints about the low pops now, and ill agree a 19 hours gap is insanely huge. friday seems to be as good as any other day though.
  18. given the way its going, when people log in tommorw they will be out leveled already by lvl 50 guilds.
  19. i agree its far smaller then it should be. my hopes are, that today, or more hopefully this apart of today is being used to test the EA launch (which will likly run launch day build) to expunge any issues (forexample the pvp issues) its my hopes that either today, or in the coming days they allow a far far greater amount of players in. willt his happen? idk, maybe maybe not. it shoudl though.
  20. well, and this is only my opinion. but they had a metric crap ton of players on in beta, and from my understanding we dont have that many now. there would be no reasont os tay closer to that number. this is one of the smallest first day early accesses i have ever seen. now, will they open the flow more in coming days? maybe, they may just start small to ensure server integrity, make sure no major flaws creeped in with recent changes. idk. i dotn really expect to get in for a long time if at all, my pre order came really late. and i can deal with that.
  21. this some termoil within my group about where im placed in the order of things. im planning on using your build for live (pending any changes that would need altering) and i maintain that i can act as an off-tank healer, with decent DPS. would this be an accurate description of what the merc turns out to be?
