  1. .Because you don't want to be left out of the new and best MMO should not be a reason to buy it. It should be to have a fun story in a MMO rather than a wall of text that no one reads.

Two very enthusiastic thumbs up on that.

I just wish the haters would go find something better to do with their time than hang out ranting on the forum of a game they claim to dislike so vehemently. Would be nice if these forums could just be an extension of the fun, helpful, and awesome people I am meeting and enjoying in game.

  2. This game being like a 'novel' shows that this isn't a good idea for an MMO. MMO players play several hours a week and they expect to come onto the game with something to do, even on their main character.

'Waiting for the next novel' is not something people will find particularly fun. I think that this game will work in the single player sense which might explain why so many people have purchased it, but as a long term MMO the story concept just doesn't seem viable.

Theres nothing to do? I am at level 16 already and only completed about 1/5 of Drommund Kaas. I had to stop doing "the other stuff" (PVP'ing and doing dailys for instance) because I've learned from experience that I'm going to be so high in lvl's that I'll only get 5 xp for doing them, and I find that irritating.

I did "grind" to lvl 4 (got there in about 20 or so minutes), but that was only to build up a few credits and familiarize myself more with my new mouse.

I've been playing this game since the beginning of Oct (got into beta) and I am not even remotely bored or tired of it.

Okay I need to go shower. This game is causing me to have some bad hygiene habits.

  3. While I've tried other MMO's I never really played any others as they just seemed pointless and boring. That being said I am a complete newbie to MMOs and PVP. At first when I started playing and saw my lvl 30 something guy was going up against a 50, I thought it was insane.

To make a long story short, I found I love PVP so went and bought some gaming peripherals to help get me away from the slow clicking of abilities. To learn using these I rolled a new character so I could slowly pick up on using all the new butttons.

I've been playing PVP with my new character since lvl 12 and have found no real problems going against people much higher than me. I have found the bolster system works pretty well. While I've never been at the top of the "leader board" my now lvl 14 character has been as high as 4 overall and 2 on my team.

I don't know enough to say whether bracketing would work better, but find the current system to be fine and even at lvl 14 i'm doing pretty well (not dominating in anyway shape or form mind you) and having a blast in PVP.

  4. Wait lol...do you even realise I can say the same thing to you, except why are you here on the forum if the game is so great?

So meaningless you just *had* to respond to it?

What's stopping you playing? The story, the lag, the pvp, the bugs or the faction imbalance? Maybe you've done your space battle dailies? Or do you just like the forums more?

Ummmm, because I like the game I am never allowed to stop playing it? Wow, you truly do not not realize how dumb you are coming across do you?

If you must know, I was taking a smoke break as we do not smoke in the house.

No sense in trying to reason with stupid. So I am heading back to the game.

I love the story, have ZERO lag 99.99999999999% of the time, this is only MMO, I have PVP'ed in and love it (though agree at some point it needs expanded), faction imbalance doesn't mean squat to me (why would it) and space combat is alright, but I can agree it also need expanded. Bland space combat hardly ruins the entire game though.

You take care and hope you some day get the help and/or attentoon you seem to need, but I assure you I'm done feeding or reading your big bag of crazy.

  5. No it wasn't. WoW was FAR better at launch. Regardless SWTOR isn't up against WoW at launch it's up against WoW NOW. Where is it better? Story?

Why are you here on this forum if you find the game to be so terrible? Does the sheer foolishness and insanity of what you are doing not register with you?

You dislike this game so much, but your are hanging out on its forum posting away about the game. What pray tell is going through whatever brain cells you have, that tells you that this is a sane and logical thing to do or that there is something to be gained from you doing this?

You want my OPINION? WoW is far more pointless and boring, even in it's current state, than this one was in beta. No, I am not so delusional, egotistical, or self-centered that I believe my opinion equals fact, just simply trying to point out that not everyone sees things as you do. And just as my opinion is meaningless to you, yours is just as meaningless to everyone else.

Pull yourself out of whatever self-deluded fantasy you have been sucked into that makes you think people care about your opinion, or that it has any merit outside of yourself. Seriously stop making yourself look so foolish and move on with your life and go play some game you actually enjoy.

  6. voted NO

i played UO/EQ/EQ2/WOW/DAoC/VG/AoC/Rift/EVE and all of those games felt like mmo´s

swtor just feels like a singleplayer coop-game designed for xbox360 - sorry to say this but with such an amount of money you needed to create this failure of an mmo makes me wanna throw up....

    EQ/EQ2/WoW raids overthrow swtor´s

    DAoC/WoW/UO/Rift/Eve PvP overthrows swtor´s

in all of those games combat feels fluid even in EQ (went live march 1999!!!)

seriously sort that crap out or you are just going to be the next big loosers in the mmo market - and no you do not have excuses because the game is new - you missed many things beta testers wrote and complained about - you ignored constructive critics and you are not even capable of telling us what you working on atm - no player cares about baby credits ***!?

This is really simple, if you like those games GO PLAY THEM.

Leave those of us who are enjoying this game alone. I do not care how many times or how many people whine about the things they do not like in this game, YOU WILL NEVER CHANGE MY OPINION OF IT.

I have grouped, socialized, PVP'ed and played more in one week of this game than i have EVER played in all other MMO's I've played combined. And yes, I have tried a few of the ones you mentioned. I didn't like them, and NOT once did I post anything in any of their forums whining about how I didn't like aspects of those games. I simply just moved on to something I did enjoy.

For crying out loud people, you are not going to like every game developed. Lurking around the forums of a game you don't like proves what? What are you hoping to accomplish here?

Because you do not like this game doesn't mean it is bad. Do you understand this? I hated EQ for example, but that does not make it a bad game.It simply means it is not a game that caters to my playing preferences.

Seriously, I wish you liked this game and were getting as much enjoyment out of it as I am, but since you aren't please kindly move on.

  7. What delay?

That is a serious question. I have been playing this game almost nonstop since my EGA and I have no clue what you're talking about. Other than the extremely rare lag I get (maybe once every two days lasting about 5 to 10 seconds) I have zero problems with delay of any kind.

Please explain what you are experiencing because I seriously have no clue what you are talking about.

  8. Sorry, I just don't get what is fun about the whole "sandbox" thing. Everyone has different preferences and I don't want just a literal single path I have to walk down (as many J-RPG's used to be and maybe still are haven't played one in years). I don't feel confined in this game even though its not sandbox. They also put enough chests and datacrons around that it does encourage a bit of exploration off the "beaten path".

To me this game is a perfect in the way the worlds are set up...except quick travel to my ship would be nice.

  9. 35 and rolled Emp.

My earliest memory in life was being in the car with my parents at the drive-in and seeing Darth Vader make his debut. I was no older than two but remember those few seconds sitting between my parentsn n the front seat of the car as if it happened last week. It is the only memoriy I have of my parents being together and us being together as a family.

So rolling and loving the Empire and the dark side isn't just about just being evil is "fun" there is some sentimental value in it for me as to why I love the Empire.

  10. I agree with OP. They put in a lot quick travel stuff which I love, but seems they could at least put a quick travel to your ship.

Heck, I'd be happy at this point if they'd just let me ride my speeder through the space ports! That would speed the whole process up at least some and I am not certain I understand the thought process behind not allowing you to anyway.

  11. I no joke have 26 abilities mapped as Veng

    27 as immortal

That i use every fight. And would not take a single one off. There is a Dps priority as Veng but you still use so many buttons

Yeah it is hard to take any of them away. Every low level mob fight I would use at least 8, throw in a silver and a gold and that easily jumps up to around 20 +/-.

I tried to simplify down to 12 to fit the keys on my gaming mouse, but couldn't do it. Every ability serves a purpose at some point and taking any away is going to hurt at some point.

  12. I'll be honest, I used to think leveling with the two DPS specs would be better but I was wrong. I did this boss with Malavai Quinn at my side on a FULL Immortal spec ( I'm a Juger ) and I lost about 5 - 10 % of my health in the entire fight. Really the immortal spec is the way to go.

Even though i am going vengeance, I think your right about that. I started immortal spec but missed DPS. For me a little grinding was worth it to get the DPS enjoyment I prefer.

As for end game unless the next 10 levels somehow make a difference or unless Bioware does something with the DPS specs of the SW in general, I'm just rerolling as a different class. I intend to play them all eventually anyway.

  13. I haven't been buying mods, but I loaded up on as much new gear as I could afford before the fight, including a couple of relics to boost my endurance. And I've done every non-heroic quest I could find and a substantial amount of grinding besides. .

What he said.nthanks to some grinding through the first two worlds in particular, I was at lvl 28 upon arriving on Tatt. By the time I got to Alderaan I was no longer even getting xp (well, I got the 5 xp) for doing my normal story quests because my lvl was so high.

I also spent ALOT of time in PVP over several days. While it does not give you huge xp...at least for a noob who stinks at it like me...it does add up. Better and more fun way to gain xp than grinding through mob after mob for hours on end that's for sure.

  14. I like hurt all. What makes hurt all hard is the fact nerds spent almost all their lives avoiding games with balls so they struggle with the concept of throwing.

Actually could someone explain the mechanics behind throwing the ball in this game to me. I attempted to throw the ball several times using the throw ball key. But nothing happened. It says game thow it and it goes to the closest ally to you. Even when completely stopping when I was in the clear once and selecting that person I could not pass the ball. I hit the pass ball button and nothing happened.

  15. Perhaps I have an advantage here because I have nothing to which I can compare it as this is the first MMO I have seriously played, but I don't hate Huttball.

I played PVP for for the first time ever in any game for about 5 straight hours yesterday and what I don't understand is why in that time all but twice the only game I got put into was Huttball. That alone will deter me from continuing to play PVP for long as it starts feeling a little repetitive.

  16. This is the first I've really played and MMO, tried others but hated them, and today was my first go round at PVP. I have a couple of questions.

First, I am lvl 33, why put people 10+ lvls higher than me against each other? That seems illogical. I can understand a spread of pitting people +/- 5 or so lvls but 10+ seems absurd.

Secondly I got booted from the server while in PVP, and I couldn't get back upon logging back in, as it seemed the system was still showing me logged into PVP. I tried logging out of it (the only option given when trying to queue again for PVP), but that did nothing. Is this a bug of sort or is there a reason for this?

  17. you fanboi's are really funny... defending a game because Star Wars is in the name, no matter how lame it is.

I am rather enjoying this game...don't really care if that makes me a "fanboy" of any kind.

Sorry if you don't enjoy the gme, but please keep in mind that no one is making any of you "this game is awful people" stick around here and you are free to leave anytime you'd like. Personally I'd rather see you go now rather than clutter up the forums with your utterly useless posts.

Well back to enjoying the game for me.

Later...actually on second thought since you think the game is so awful, hopefully you find something better to do with yourself other sit on these forums contributing nothing but silly name calling. Sad you feel so diminished that you have to resort to childish posts simply because others don't share youR same opinion of a video game.

  18. You've outleveled those space quests, same as you would if you were doing a quest on a planet. You can tell your level progress based on what difficulty the daily quests are that you receive from your comm.

I believe what you're saying is accurate, but must wonder why they keep giving me space missions that are below my level. I seriously have only been doing them in between worlds, not even doing them daily in most cases. I just left Nar (been there since Thursday) and only one of the space missions available gave me any significant xp (a couple thousand) while all the others only gave me 5 xp.

  19. Lately about half the time I've only been getting 5 xp and about 300 gold for space missions. I only do them in between worlds as I don't really go to my ship except then and the first couple of times I got decent xp now nothing. If I get nothing for doing it, I wish they'd make it clear that I get nothing for it before I accept it. While I don't hate the space combat as many do, I don't find it enjoyable enough to actually use it as a time waster.
  20. I too hate Nar Shaddaa. I haven't really played the game in two or three days days since making it there. After going through it a few times during beta, and hating almost every minute of it, I just haven't had that much of a desire to revisit it just yet.

For me it is like the fish world in KOTOR (Manaan, I believe it was called). I found it boring, and always hated going there. It doesn't make them "bad" as my opinion is just that, and everyone's opinion is different and just as valid.

Also I might add that Just because there is one of several worlds i hate, it also definitely doesn't make me think the game is bad in general, as even though I hated the fish world, KOTOR is still hands down without a doubt the best video game experience of my life. After 8 years I am beginning to think that no one, even Bioware, will ever be able to top it.

  21. I LOVE THE:

    Spaceships

    Actual combat

    Customisation of your character

    Crafting

    Graphics

    Sound

    I HATE THE:

    None existant world pvp

Utter lack of exploration and totally linear planets

The trouble is the two hates are total game breakers for me.

There is a pretty simple fix for you here then...leave. I HATE pointless idiotic "open world" games. They offer me nothing but mindless roaming boredom. I know this, so I avoid them. I don't go to the forums whining about how the game is what the game is.

Please go find a game that fits your preferences and quit cluttering up this forum complaining about how this doesn't fit them. No single game is ever going to suit everyone out there. This is the only MMO that I have even found playable. That doesn't mean that all other MMO's are awful, it simply means they don't offer anything that fits my preferred gaming style. I find it very easy to avoid such games and you won't find me on any of their forum complaining how the game isn't what I want it to be.

Accept this isn't a game for you and kindly move on.
