  1. You mean like dark, gritty, realistic shooter #357 or God of War clone #213?
  2. Hating games you've never played and simply just hopping on the hate bandwagon like some kind of mindless drone is dumb Y-y-you can't be serious. You can't just compare the TOR community and...I mean...you know, come on. The irony is just too much.

    PVP Exploits

And Blizzard changed that. Because HAVING to have a certain crafting skill just to not be gimp in pvp was extraordinarily retarded and just plain bad design. I won't lie though. Rocket boots were fun as all hell.
  4. Not really. The thing that "killed" DCUO was: No, it wasn't the macros, or weapon balance issues, or clipping, or mental being useless. The game had scarce endgame content and what little it had was stale and repetitive. You can argue it all you like. But as someone who personally sat in the watchtower talking in league chat all day, that's what drove people away. I mean crap, a year later and we still don't even have new legends characters. Where is my superman legends SOE? This is how it always will be. The success of MMOs will always be dependent on how much content there is to keep people playing.
  5. I've seen far too many healers off in the middle of nowhere helping some random useless player survive a duel while never pushing objectives, healing in situations that matter, or using CC in critical situations to complete objectives, opting instead to save them for saving their own ***. People need to get out of the mindset that just simply healing makes you a good player worthy of admiration. Bad healers do exist in this game and they are everywhere.
  6. The basic concept is that being able to view players who are interested in doing the same group content at you easily is too simple, convenient, and useful, that as of thus, it lessens the communication that will on within a group and also lessens how dedicated you are to a group. Sitting around doing nothing for hours makes you much more likely to stick with a failing group. Because you, well, don't want to have to go back to doing nothing. And at the same time, you're more likely to communicate with a group and try to sort out problems instead of just leaving. Because you don't want to go back to screaming in /1
  7. I can say with 100% certainty (having played both classes) that Charged Burst and Aimed Shot do not fire instantly and suffer from the same issue as Snipe and Ambush Trying to use an instant cast spell after the cast bar already finished will often just cancel CB and AS out entirely.
  8. Feedback is still feedback regardless of whether or not it is positive. Do you want the forums to be one massive ********** or something?
  9. This is not 2004 anymore. Standards are entirely different now. I can't picture anyone who spouts the "Well, WoW wasn't that good at launch either" tripe to be anything less than a mindless fanboy or a full blown retard. I actually kinda hope TOR fails hard just so it can reinforce the concept that Arenanet, En Masse, and Square Enix have already realized: You can't just release an unfinished game anymore and expect people to pay full price for it while you fix it.

    Wow...

    Where is the PVE content?
  11. Since Bioware said that we wouldn't have auto facing in pvp many moons ago, I figured that its presence now was just a band-aid to help against the whole "pvp being an unresponsive cluster ****" thing we have going on. We already have to wait 1-3 seconds just for our abilities to activate. Imagine if we actually had to FACE our targets as well with that same unresponsiveness.
  12. They've had multiple articles about pvp philosophy and have had numerous interviews about it, created the bolster system to try to ensure that pvp will be a central part of the game at all levels, and claim to have an entire team dedicated soley to pvp. I'd say they care something about pvp. For an MMO to...well...work, you have to have something that will make players stick around. Storylines that you can clear in a casual week of play aren't going to cut it.
  13. Operatives are REALLY playing up the whole "squishy" deal. You're talking as though the class folds in half from a slight breeze. The class has very powerful cooldowns and heals. You'll probably lose against another melee class in a straight 1v1 fight without any opener (assuming equal gear and skill), but you're not going to get steamrolled and you can always just vanish if you time a CC around the dot timer. Your class is a priority focus target because of your retarded burst. Not because you're defenseless.
  14. Why do people keep bringing this up? You don't sacrifice one area of the game for another. You're not going to have the art team working on music or your programmers writing dialogue.
  15. What sense does that make? Did Bioware have their art team work on the voice work as well or something?
  16. You've reached the point of being delusional my friend. Companions are literally just pets that you can gear and talk to. Adding tiny bells and whistles to pets do not suddenly make them not pets.
  17. There is huge, huge difference between being constantly being constantly updated and being launched with little content.
  18. STO has an extremely small population and the game is still not worth playing. Not being entirely dead is not the same thing as being "fine". Or maybe it is to you, who knows? If you consider being on life support to be a good state to be in, the more power to you.
  19. The problem is that you can grapple people into your spawn and grapple range extends well past your goal line. So a dedicated grapple whore could make getting touchdowns very, very hard. That's (hopefully) not intended by Bioware thus making it an exploit.

    Patient is a virtue

This game was in development for 6 years and is the most expensive game ever made. It should not have been released in the state it's in. The huge investment barely shows. If this is what Bioware can do when they have that level of resources dropped in their lap, I don't think I'm going to even look at their future games.
  21. Unload ticks far many more times than Full Auto and is FAR less affected by pushback. Getting hit makes both channels lose a tick. But while Troopers have lost 1/3rd of the damage of the ability, Bounty Hunters have lost 1/6th. The AOE difference is blatant and anyone who tells you otherwise is just being an ***. Mortar starts far later and is FAR easier to dodge or be affected by mob movement.
  22. When two talented individuals love each other very much...
  23. Which is exactly what Bioware promised we wouldn't get. Yay, for generic design and the inability to implement anything new (or even properly recreate what you're copying for that matter) or to even make a passing attempt at innovative gameplay.
  24. We shouldn't need an alternative. The bolster system should *********** work and do what it was supposed to do. This is the main problem here. PVP doesn't work ANYTHING AT ALL like how Bioware advertised it. Remember all that talk about how gear would account for 10% of pvp effectiveness and pvp would almost always come down to the more skilled player winning? Well, look where we are now. Geared players tanking 3+ people at once and dropping people in a few GCDs. Just like Every Other MMO This is one of the very few things Bioware tried that wasn't totally generic and actually manged to be a little different than the norm. Forgettable stories and companions that no one will care about within a month aside. Yet even this was a complete and total bust. Couple this with the warzone fps issues, the .5 second delay, meager content, bugs er'ry where, non-updating raids frames, the resolve system being complete ***, brain-dead ranged dominance, and other such nonsense, and one can't help but think that Bioware has no idea how to make a lasting MMO and this game will be dead or will be sub-100k players within 6 months. I wouldn't mind at all if the problem with SWTOR was just bugs or things that could easily be fixed. I've stuck by a more than one MMO as it sunk into the abyss of obscurity as long as I felt it was a good game with potential. But SWTOR doesn't have that. The more I play, the more I realize that the problem with the game is just bad design decisions. My buyer's remorse levels are off the charts.
  25. So in other words, you saying that the bolster system achieves nothing and once more people start getting geared, queueing up as anything but a pvp geared 50 will do nothing more than make you a liability for your team until we get proper brackets? Yeah, you sure showed those fools.
