  1. First let me say that I am one of the people that was looking forward to the change... that said i think they would have implemented it better (as does everyone else) heres what i think they could have done that would have solved a ton of issues.. First not release 300 levels at once.. only have released the first 100 levels making it all tier 1.. releasing all 3 tiers at the same times makes tiers 1 and 2 feel kinda worthless.. everyone is focused on needing/wanting tier 3.. in a few months (February-April) release the next 100 levels (101-200) along with tier 2 gear.. same thing for tier 3... 2-3 months and command ranks 201-300 2nd change the way gear is handed out in the command boxes.. have the boxes NOT drop the random set gear.. have them drop some decos..implants.. relics.. cool looking gear.. companion gifts.. things like that.. maybe every say a 2-5% chance of dropping the latest cartel pack even.. then every 5 levels have it give you a random token for a set piece of gear.. (so you sould get a random token for 1 of the 7 pieces of gear) meaning by the time you hit 100 you would have gotten 20 of the tokens and you could still get more every 5 levels of command ranks you get over what ever the current cap is (so if the cap is 100 you would still get boxes ever time you fill the bar up and every 5th time the bar fills up) this would make alot of people content with knowing its only 5 levels until they get a chance at a set piece they need.. even if switching specs it wouldnt be insane to regear.. OR give you a token that you can trade in for ANY set piece every 10 levels ( so when you hit rank 100 you would have gotten 10 of them meaning you could get your whole set and have 3 extra maybe spend them on weapon/offhand/relic/implant off spec gear ect.. and again.. every 10 bar fill ups at cap you would get another token.. this would take out the RNG factor they seem to want but would double the time needed to get a piece of gear in the option above.. and again.. max the boxes you get every level do basically the same as above and with those setups having command rank be legacy wide would be nice.. but not necessary.. the current set up... i think its necessary.. after all this game has ALWAYS been set up to WANT players to roll alts.. now they have a system in place that punishes those that play alts.. if your ops group loses a tank/healer.. and your doing end game stuff.. thats going to be (using bioware's calculations on how long it should take to gain ranks) 300 hours MINIMUM before you can get a alt geared up to whats needed.. that 12 1/2 DAYS of ingame time.. if you play 8 hours a day 7 days a week 38 days before your ready to go.. even with the setups above thats the case..when the rmax rank would be 300.. if it was 100 i could see people getting 2-3 characters before the next set command ranks are released.. he 300 ranks all at once for alot of people almost seems insurmountable
  2. the only real way to do anything about is to remove credits from the game.. so they need credit sinks.. to me personally the current credit sinks are no that great.. i dont want to spend 100+ million on guild ships/housing.. shopping the GTN isnt a real credit sink.. sure it take a few credits but really its just moving credits to other players.. if they want to REMOVE credits the need to put something in game thats valuable to players and quite expensive.. one thing they could add would be a vendor that sold a token when used would add 30 days of subscription time to your account NOT TO THE CARTEL MARKET (that would again just be moving credits from player to player) while this would take money from bioware.. but to less people subscribing it would make prices on a ton of stuff drop.. maybe actually bringing some people back that left due to inflation (and yes there are some taht have left because of the price of things i know 2-3 people my self that wanted something and just could never afford it due to the prices going up and up) the thing is the price of the token would have to change over time... like to start with i could see it selling for say 30 million credits (i get this figure by the current price of BUYING credits online being 30 milling for $15.. but as credits leave the game 30 million would be to much.. and it would have to slowly go down to being about the same value..
  3. There has been no inflation creep.. creep denoted slowness...maybe inflation exploded faster then the Millennium Falcon can make the Kessel Run.. (yes i know it is measured in distance, you could also say faster then someone will correct you about it being distance not time =) would be a better description...
  4. Actually i dont think it removes the activation time it just makes the heal it provides instant not HOT it instantly heals them for all the health after activation.. so if it healed for say 2000 with 500 HOT with a activation of 2 seconds it will not heal for say 3000 with a activation of 2 seconds.. making the amount healed instant but the ability not a instant i get this because it says "Kolto Pack now heals for more health instantly, but no longer heals the target over time." my take away is it heals more instantly not activates instantly.. i could be wrong but thats what i get from reading it.
  5. I took up a dps guardian and did every side quest i saw (turned on the exploration quests also) and i went from 1 - 65 in 7 hours.. and ended up about 1/2 though nar shadda Only reason i took the character up was to see where i ended up doing that.. i already HAD 20 characters at 55+ 11 of which are 65
  6. if you go read what was posted.. specifically this is they will NOT be left out.. the just will not be able to get the set bonuses..
  7. I think it would have been amazing if they would have put a old space combat style fight in for the escape or even the boarding part of it.. i know those are old and boring now.. but just imaging if it would have loading into that and you had to fight your way in/out it would have been epic..
  8. actually i missed it also.. i skimmed that email on my phone and never saw the code and i would not have rechecked it if he didnt say that...
  9. I think you have sometihng going on with your laptop if thats all your able to get out of it.. i loaded up SWTOR on my dell venue 11 pro.. before you google that.. its actually a windows TABLET thats running windows 10 with 4 gigs of ddr3 a 128gb ssd dual core and integrated intel gpu.. and while i was not running warzones i was running around fleet on the harbinger with graphics in the same config as you have them listed (Ultra settings - except AA turned off, shadows turned off, grass turned off. 1920x1080 fullscreen) and at the GTN while spamming force quake on my sage was was still pulling in an average of about 15 now thats not as intense as 8v8.. but still... and set on very lower i was able to get an average of about 25
  10. I would also give another vote to the dell laptop.. from what i see its all around slightly better.. as far a performance.. due to its quad core cpu vs dual core.. granted this wouldnt make a big difference in swtor it would be slight and any multitasking you do it would help.. (running web browsers in the back ground youtube ect) and it would help if you ever play other games that can make bettery use of quad cores... also the video card is slightly better.. not much but enough..it does have more rim for the video card.. thats a good thing even if you dont use it.. better to have to much tthen not enough.. and again.. if you play something other then swtor... that might help out.... the screens .. dell is a little better... not a ton.. just a little.. from what i can see the 'biggest' differance.. really has nothing to do with performance.. one has a metal chassis (asus) one is all plastic (dell) also they BOTH had room inside to add a 2nd hard drive.. either another ssd or a regular hhd to increase storage
  11. i think he means a tool that you buy with cartel coins, and you can then turn any single item into a bound to legacy item IE.. buy the item from the shop use it and select say a bound piece of gear, and it turns that bound gear into bound to legacy.
  12. OH i know what it is.. anyone with a sub with have access to the Collector Edition Vendor... they wont put anything new on it (and have no intention of ever doing so) but any sub will be able to buy from it
  13. I wouldnt say that.. you never know with Bioware.. it could be a buff that all Subs get that increases player HPs and damage by 80% but only is you dont have a companion out.. or for every 2 months your are a sub you get 1 day added to your normal sub time period (so if you were subbed from launch each 'month' you subbed from here on out you would get 50ish days of play time but still would only get the 500 cartel coins each sub period (so once every 50 days) the thing i would love to see.. the Alliance system factions based.. meaning that the influence you have with everyone carries over to every one on that faction, you still have to unlock them but that all share the same influence level once unlocked, and being faction based it would make a tiny bit more since due to the the whole m1-4x thing Or some meaningful veteran rewards.. but thats not gonna happen what ever it is i wouldnt expect much.. something like for every 50 hours you play 1 character you get a major xp boost or something.. as long as your a sub...
  14. ok i did read your whole post.. no real need to.. same as every other post just about.. and i DO agree the nerf needs to be dialed WAY back Do i think HEALING companions were OP? sure a BIT not the 70% nerf they got.. but they could have started with a 10% nerf and let that run for a week and see how things went... (I say this as a HEALER.. i feared after the 1st day that companions would be better healers then actual players) Do i think DAMAGE companions were OP? not really.. was nice to see a difference between specs.. before 4.0 if you used ANY healing companion and had them set to a more DPS mode there was almost no difference in the damage out put and as a healer those companions were a waste to me even tho I liked playing with them because of who they were Do i think TANK companions needed a nerf? NO WAY they sucked before 4.0.2 and they suck even more now..just healing the tank enough to keep him alive from 1 gold i pull agro So i think anything will change? Yes.. maybe.. very slowly tho So i think ANY of these thread about companion nerfs will have any affect on BW? HEELLL NO!!! they will do what they want reguardless of what we post.. there was a post last week that someone put a link to a poll that asked very simply if players thought they were OP and the VAST majority of that poll was happy with that they had and didnt want them nerfed.. and look at where we are now.. TL;DR version.. BW will do what ever they want reguardless of what players ask for.. sometimes they are right some times they are wrong.. we'll just have to see how long it takes for them to make more 'tweaks'
  15. I didnt say it was challenging.. I said it was annoying.. Soloing Star Fortress was challenging pre 4.0.2.. Now? i wont even try it.. due to simply how long it would take IF i could do it.. it took along time to solo before this patch.. after.. i could very easily see having to use heroic moment every single fight, making soloing it take 2+hours and half of that would be waiting for cooldowns Having a (high ranked) DPS companion doing less damage then a healer speced scoundrel that is spamming grenade and the default attack is just plan stupid Nothing about fighting seems heroic now... it feels slow and drawn out Would i cancel my sub if it wasnt already pre-paid until February? Maybe not today.. i'm not that hasty.. if its still like this com February.. I dont see me renewing my sub.. what will i do between now and then? probably not to much swtor.. I have a few other games i've been trying to play though but swtor was taking all my free time because i was actually enjoying playing.. i've played more between early access to KoTFE to yesterday then i had in the 8 months before that combined.. now? i dont even have a desire to login because i dont want to trudge though the content what took me 30 minutes to do yesterday now takes over an hour
  16. Well i said I would reserve my judgement until after the patch.. and here it is.. this is just doing the Heroic 2's on my main (scoundrel healer) with my companion being influence level 42.. CAN i still solo them? yes.. are they fun? NO.. they take way to long to do companions take far to much damage.. Hell i can out dps my companion as a healer when my companion is set as dps (i did test this we both pulled the 2 of the same mob and mine died first WHILE i was healing) when hes set to tank its is WAY to easy to pull agro.. (IE i cant even keep my companion alive healing him without pulling agro then i have to heal my self 90% of the time) setting him to healer and having me DPS (while still speced as healer) i still have to heal my self to avoid dieing Like alot of people are saying.. they swung the nerf bad WAY to hard.. were healing companions a bit OP.. sure.. a BIT maybe reduce them by 10% and see how that played out.. not the 75% the did.. (just FYI this test were done on a level 65 with a influence 42 Nico on alderaan) I did do some other testing on a level 60 trooper doing the Heroic 2's on Ord Mantell (Also specced as healer) and again i CAN do them but again its slow and annoying And i took a few screen shots before i ranked up Nico so i could see the difference in his HPs and DPS from rank 1 to what ever rank i got him to that happened to be 42 Heres a break down of stats pre 4.0.2 at rank 2 and post 4.0.2 rank 42 Mastery 5514/post 4300 Endur 5463/post 4100 Power 1484/post 984 Crit 726/post 516 Alacrity 400/Post 260 Accuracy 400/post 260 Health 81268/Post 78067 Damage range 2717-2740/ post 2672-2695 Bonus Damage 2691.3/post 2645.6 Accuracy 105.65/post 103.80 Crit 27.25/post 22.78 Crit multiplier 61.31/post 58.57 These are just base numbers there are calculations done on top of thise when figuring out how much healing/damage/threat they do but just from these numbers a rank 42 companion is weaker then a pre patch rank 1 companion if you look at a post 4.0.2 rank 1 companion the main stats are the same (mastery end power crit alacrity accuracy) and the overall accuracy crit and crit multiplier are the same from level 1 to 42 jsut the damage and hps change.. over the corse of 42 ranks you gain roughly 20k hps and 1k damage (so pre 4.0.2 vs now a rank 1 companion last 15k health and 1000 to damage range and bonus damage along with 5% crit and 3% crit multiplier)
  17. I'll reserve my judgement until after the patch.. but as someone who plays a healer exclusively the companion DPS nerf has me concerned.. it was nice to be able to actually get some quests done at a reasonable rate... And hopefully they still make things possible that are currently possible (IE there is a achievement for doing Star Fortress solo with none of the buffs you get from inside the flashpoint, and by the sounds of the 'mined' data it sounds like that will be 100% impossible with a 75% nerf to healing and 50% nerf to dps and tanks damage mitigation being reduced). And if the Heroic 2+ terminal missions are not longer soloable (at least the corellia and lower ones) I will be done doing those..
  18. While i agree with you i think if people REALLY want to get in 7 days earlier.. fine let them throw money at bioware and get in with us that have subed the whole time.. but the buy in is $70... roughly what a subscription would cost from june until now
  19. Looking at all the classes changes coming with KOtFE (aka Coffee) and seeing them open up a few of the advanced class only skills to being on both sides of the advanced class (like phase walk going from only a shadow/assassin to being for shadow, assassin, sage, sorc) anyone else think this could lead to (dun dun duuunnn) the removal of advanced classes as we know it? Basically giving use a choice to respec into 1 of 6 trees instead of the 3? I know there are some strong feelings about allowing advanced class changes and i for one dont really care if they allow it altho it would make more then half my characters pointless (I do currently have18 characters at 55+ now, oh which 7 of those have been taken up with 12x xp) Anyways Just a thought i had...
  20. Well there is also a Teemo the Hutt that is from a Star Wars RPG put out by Fantasy Flight Games.. And if you were referring to me being a nerd.. ehh.. been hearing that my whole life... i prefer to think of it as being ahead of the curve... i was into computer, gaming, mmos, ect. long before the were "mainstream"
  21. any game can be added to steam you dont have to buy them though steam to stream them though steam.. they just have to be added to steam (i showed how a few posts up) i know some people dont like steam (i'm not sure WHY they dont like ti but they do)
  22. Just curious why not steam? Hook up a controller and launch steam in big picture mode and its pretty much perfect for running from a couch with a controller (if its due to running something like Linux on your media box you can install the linux version of steam and still stream the game)
