  1. I am returning to the game after a long hiatus. I have experience in most MMOs since FFXI, and enjoy playing many other genres as well. What I am looking for is a friendly guild that caters to both casual players and those yearning for a challenge. I'm more about having a good time and making friends, and I don't really want to add too much stress to my gaming. That means parsing is not very high on my priorities, no matter the difficulty of the content I wish to do. I play during East Coast hours and, since I have to wake up pretty early, I cannot commit to a night-time schedule. Otherwise, I should be good. I main a Jedi Guardian (but have a character in each class), character name Asa. I look forward to speaking with anyone who would like to have me!
  2. I am returning to this game after a hiatus. I was in the betas, played periodically off and on since, and took a very long break for Final Fantasy XIV. I still play XIV and help run a guild there, so my focus will be split. I rarely play one game at a time, and this fall will be playing some Battlefield 1 in addition to the MMOs. I have a long history of leading and running guilds as far back as Unreal Tournament '99, Jedi Outcast, and Final Fantasy XI. Here's the sort of guild I am interested in joining. Active Community (Forums + Game) Willingness to revisit old content without much hassle. No "glass ceilings" regarding ranks. Leaders must interact with members. Presence on both factions. Ability to complete all content without being anal. PvP is welcome. Voice Chat. World Boss killing & other clears (flashpoints, Hard Modes, etc.) Reasonable activity policy, as again, this is not my only game. If anyone is recruiting and would like to have me, let me know! I play multiple characters, so designating one as a "main" seems silly for me. This month I'm playing Sith Warrior. Next month it might be something else. I live on the east coast and do not do late nights or Sundays. So heads up. (No it's not because religion, but rather I watch The Walking Dead, Preacher, Game of Thrones, and a handful of other shows, and Sundays tends to be my movie/TV day).
  3. These guys are very kind and considerate. They don't harp on you if you're the sort who have a busy schedule and are on a few hours a week, and they don't butt in and get on your case if it looks like you are multi-guilding. Very nice and fun people!
  4. Quick Info: New Fledgling Close-knit community. http://www.thedragonarmy.org (Site still being modified, so images may change) Have TS3 and play additional games if interested (GW2, BF4) Contact Ender, Aiida, and Jae-sa for an invite ingame. We are on during the afternoon hours (by 7 PM EST, sometimes sooner) The Dragon Army is a new Republic guild with the ambition of growing in size and forming a close knit community of gamers. We want to keep things laid back and fun, and this includes the difficult Operations, Flashpoints and PvP. We will not force you to skip cutscenes, will not rage or get angry if you make a mistake, and will not enforce oppressive looting policies. We want everyone to get to know each other, which is why our goal is not to become a super-sized guild with hundreds of faceless people. Extra Information Dragon Army Community Information Our Mission Dragon Army is an online structured community comprised of a few clans in some games. Emphasizing the quality of individuals, we prefer members who are here for each other over those looking for convenience in a game. We value codes of honor and courtesy, and play our games for fun and the betterment of each other. Improving our ranks improves the community at large. What We Do Playing online games is our primary activity with each other. While most of us play games DA does not directly support, the majority of our gaming sessions concern the game(s) we play with the guild. We welcome players who have busy schedules and want to relax, as well as those who like more of a challenge (and have the time to spare to do the challenging activities.) We have a variety of options so you can get out of the community what you want. Member Tiers Community Member – By simply registering and introducing yourself on the forums, you will be considered a member of the community. You will be granted “Verified” status on Teamspeak, allowing you to freely move yourself into the many channels. Additionally, you will be able to join any of our game groups and wear our tags, and will be welcome to the majority of our events. Crew Member – Members wishing to join a ranked team, static raid team, become an officer, and to more or less commit themselves a bit more to the group, will submit an application to formally join the Crew. Crew members have a 2 week activity policy and are expected to uphold all policies. Leadership – The leadership comprises the “Tribunal,” a council designed to form and debate legislation while enacting the guild’s policies and managing the formation, leadership adjustment and disbanding of groups. They are made up of the most experienced individuals, and those we feel are “best fit” for the job (whether they’re the leader of a group, a server administrator, or something similarly beneficial to the community.) Community Rules 1. Apply respect and maturity to yourself, each other, and those we interact with. 2. Keep cursing at a reasonable level. (Don’t make cursing a frequent thing.) 3. Do not impede on the success, progress or potential of DA or it’s members. Dragon Army’s “Code of Honor.” Each member, regardless of their rank, are expected to uphold a “Code of Honor” with everything they do. Do as you say. Be constructive. Aid the friendly. Protect the vulnerable. (stand up for your fellow members) Don’t be a dick. SWTOR Guild Policies The following policies should be practiced at all times, and will be enforced. Follow the global Dragon Army policies at all times. Participate with the guild, rather than “use” the guild. Do not roll on items you cannot use, and never roll with the intent to sell when someone in the party needs the item (more detailed loot policies found below.) Try not to talk over cutscenes if they are being watched. No begging. Loot Policy When playing in a party, the following loot policies will be in place. “Primary” characters may Need on items they can USE, and should Greed or Pass on items they cannot use or will not use themselves (Companions rolls should be Greed.) You may change your “Primary” whenever you like, but we will sometimes prioritize another member’s loot drops over yours if they are new, or have experienced a dry spell obtaining their loot. Do not rush roll. Communicate what you want to do before you cast your roll, and pay attention to what the rest of your party plans to do. We also offer groups for Guild Wars 2 (Darkhaven), and Battlefield 4. We plan on support Star Wars: Battlefront and Star Citizen. Our members enjoy playing miscellaneous titles for fun too (TF2, CSGO, Left 4 Dead, League of Legends, Smite, and we even have some console players.) Website Information & Services http://www.thedragonarmy.org Teamspeak 3 Information is on the website and in the Guild Description ingame. Contact Info Interested in joining? Contact Ender, Jae-sa, or Aiida ingame. Quickest method to get our attention is to make a post on the site or join our TS3.
  5. Hello everyone. I'm returning to SWTOR after an extended break. With summer almost here I'm looking for a guild to join. I will be playing the game somewhat casually. I say somewhat because I'm not really sure how often I'll be playing. Could be a few hours every other day, or as often as every day. I'm a bit shy and don't really talk up a storm, but I tend to open up as I become more comfortable. My Guardian is level 39 (I think it was 39 anyway,) and I have a few alts that are lower. Once I hit 50+ I intend on doing Makeb and all of the Ops. I do not, however, enjoy environments that take things way too seriously. I like to play well, but I also don't need someone barking at me if I make a mistake, or someone else makes a mistake. I want a guild that actually welcomes new recruits and pulls them into the fold. I want to know everyone in the guild, and I'd like the guild to not feel jealous by the fact I also run a BF3 and GW2 guild, which will take higher priority. That means if I have an important event coming up in my own guild, it will always come before your guild. Only way around that is if I start rising in rank in the guild and I find myself with responsibilities. (I don't like glass-ceilings.) Lastly, I want to make it clear I do not enjoy 'wal-mart' guilds. AKA, guilds comprised of hundreds of users who accept everyone under the sun, spam recruits in game, and never feels like they have 'enough' members. Oh, and website is a plus. Preferably one with a forum that gets attention. Character Names: Guard: Asa (main) Sentinel: Elain
  6. Finally. I can change my character's looks. It'd be cool if this at least comes with some new options too (new hairstyles, maybe even a face type that looks young for the thin male body type, instead of an unhealthy thin face? In any case, here's to hoping it's not overpriced.
  7. It's not hard to figure out. He's saying Bioware has ups and downs, and TOR was their worst down. He brought up Mass Effect 3 because, in his mind, the game shows signs of Bioware getting back on track. I think he has a more grounded look on things than most of the vocal online userbase. While I don't agree with some of his comments (I didn't find Mass Effect 1 to be as shallow as he seems to have,) I do agree with where he was going. Bioware still has potential. Their strength has always been in the story and, come KOTOR, the aspect of choice. Their gameplay has mostly been tolerable. Not stellar and earth shattering, but not so bad you can't get through it. The issue with TOR is that it has most of the strengths and weaknesses Bioware has shown over the years. The plots for the classes are either really good or just mediocre. None of them are laughably bad, compared to other games anyway. The gameplay is mediocre. It's typical post-WoW gameplay. It's just the game includes the Bioware stuff, with voice acting in every cutscene, choices in most situations, and a clear start and end to the core storyline. That's where things get rough though. This is an MMO with singleplayer RPG as the focus (well, Bioware RPG anyway.) People who just want to enjoy the story and game for what it is are rarely the people you see wailing their arms and screaming at the top of their lungs. Those are people with high expectations that are (likely) never met, bitter SWG fans who seemed to have thought TOR would be SWG 2 (or they're just pissed Lucasarts shut it down so as not to compete,) or traditional MMO gamers who are here for the group play and expected long-term MMO attributes which are lacking in this game, according to them anyway. Note that I'm not referring to some of the mistakes and "corporate" policies Bioware seems to create for itself that don't seem all that good of a move. Such as making players purchase the legacy surname, titles, vault, etc. I also feel like subscribers should get a bit more bang for their buck, either in the form of more Cartel Coins per month (I'm talking like 800 to 1000, not an additional 50 or 100) or subscription is treated like a sort of "Premium" service BF3 has. I realize it's not the same as BF3 is one-time payment, but still. You subscribe and, so long as you are subscribed, you get access to all content in the game current and new, period. Your sub runs out and you are immediately reverted back to the core game, unless you unlocked something (like Sector X) or actually purchased the updates. I don't really hate Bioware or SWTOR, I just think they've made some mistakes. I don't think it's the end of the road for them, and I'm off of work until new years and had nothing better to do so here's my random post for the week, lol.
  8. Awesome. I think we're onto something. I agree too. Let's not make this guild anything too demanding. Just a simple way to setup statics, be in touch, may even way to expand on the RPing we do too. Which server were we on again? I'd like to make a Jedi and get everyone on my friend's list. We could also discuss a guild name of some sort assuming everyone is on board. I don't us to have any real "leadership." Just make sure everyone who gets in has the same interests we do and is courteous, and that'll be that.
  9. Time Zone differences made me unable to do this with wolf, as I imagine they ditched me, lol. No hard feelings though. I'm EST so that can get zones a little wacky. But I was thinking. Since a good handful of people seem interested in this, what about an RP "static" clan. A clan on a server of our choice specifically designed for this sort of stuff? Just a thought.
  10. Sounds good. I'll make my character tonight when I get home and have some dinner. I'll make another reply with the character name afterward. I'll go Inquisitor.
  11. I may actually be up for this. I've never RPed ingame before, so this could be a fun learning experience. I'm open to any class we'd need, just send me a PM or something if we're gonna do it. And of course, which server we'll be on.
  12. Not by a long shot. Final Fantasy XIV is pretty hard to top when it comes to MMO failures.
  13. Provided they don't cost some insane price in the Legacy tab. No haircut ever cost me thousands of dollars, and I've had some nice hair cuts.
  14. A while back, prior to patch 1.2, we were given the chance purchase a number of color crystals, among them a rather pricey White Crystal. Has the dev team ever considered making the extremely rare crystals such as those become something like a Legacy item? I would say only have something like a White crystal be included, so as not to impede on the Artifice's role in the game.
