  1. Exactly. It takes NO skill to go to an area and sit there looking for a part, pressing a hot key every 25 meters. It's pure luck.
  2. I love all the EAware fanbois defending this terrible quest. Up until you start collecting parts, this quest was incredibly awesome. Then it falls apart with the collection of parts. Just because YOU were able to get it done quickly, when the questline first cameout, that does not justify what Bioware has done. Collecting parts that randomize locations after each finding is OK, the failure comes in the scanning process. Scanning should not take 16 seconds and be limited to 25 meters. They should revise the scanning process to either: A) Make the scan duration shorter or much bigger. B) Make it so the scan is constant, like radar. Yes the companion is optional, but it's a big reason why many subscribed. And trying to defend this incredibly tedious action behind the failed logic of the game being a MMO requiring such an action as being ok, is stupid.
  3. It was silly for EA to take all their games off Steam in the first place. Origin can never compete with Steam because EA and Valve are two very different companies. Origin will never be able to match the sales that Steam has. That said, Origin isn't as bad as everyone makes it out to be... I actually like it. And they have offered some nice sales. It gets a bad rap because of EA. If EA truly wants Origin to be on the same level as Steam, then they need to make sweeping company policy changes.
  4. I did the fight at 47 and it was easy. The last fight on Corellia was harder, they should have switched the difficulty of the fights.
  5. Finally finished my Juggernaut story.. and like many, I too am wondering why I couldn't finish Quinn off. My Sith so fiercely hated Baras that when Quinn does the betrayal, she would have had her blood boiling. She wouldn't have taken a second to think that Quinn didn't make the droids a challenge purposely. In fact, I highly doubt that she would let him say another word. This was my only gripe with the Warrior story, and it's pretty big. Outside of that, this was the story I've enjoyed the most.
  6. I just don't think it's possible from a technical standpoint to make it so you go from planet to space to planet seamlessly. You're going from one playfield to another, I just can't see how it's possible. WoW is the same way, their continents all require loading when changing.
  7. Bump. Still having this issue. Screenshots rarely work for me in both cutscenes and ingame. It seems very sporadic, sometimes it will let me take multiples, and then other times I'm lucky if I can get one. Please fix this!
  8. Bump. Wish this idea was ingame. I don't like how my character looks after level 3 corruption, but particularly love level 2.
  9. No surprise after reading most of the replies that most favor SWTOR. It's an SWTOR board, so it's to be expected. That said, GW2 is a much better game in just about every single aspect. Art style is something that can be debated for years, you will either like it or you won't. To say it's too cartoony is absurd. SWTOR is very cartoony. There's a reason that developers go for stylized graphics instead of more real ones. The game will not look as dated as quickly as a game like Age of Conan. It also allows developers to make the game less graphically intensive, so players can run it on a toaster if they need to. One can see the appeal to a developer/publisher as to why thy would prefer stylized, a potentially much larger audience can play their game. I played GW2 beta. The beta ran better than SWTOR live. Bioware did not optimize SWTOR in the least bit, so needless to say, I'm very excited to see how great GW2 will run once live. SWTOR has very standard MMO gameplay, they tried to be revolutionary basically with nothing. GW2 in my opinion is not revolutionary either, more evolutionary. It takes previous ideas from many MMOs and implements them better. Public quests, termed Dynamic Quests, are a better version of those PQs from Warhammer. Learning weapon skills one at a time per weapon was something that I found to be pretty unique. The game is much harder than pretty much any other MMO I've tried. It FEELS hard to play. That is a good thing to me. There are no 'holy trinity' classes in GW2. That's definitely unique, and something that I've been wanting to see forever. Gone are healers, tanks, and DPS. Everyone gets a heal. With GW2 more action based combat, there is no need for a tank - though some classes are more suited to take damage better. You dodge, you kite, etc - that is how you "tank" a mob in GW2. It's fun and can be challenging. There are no more traditional questing. Players now help NPCs in an area and they get rewarded for that. PvP in this GW2 beta was much more enjoyable for me compared to SWTOR. It's clear that the ArenaNet guys know what they are doing when it comes to PvP. Bioware doesn't have a clue. In GW2 I'm not CC'd (and by that I mean pushed into fire, off bridges, and stunned 70 billion times) to death like SWTOR. In GW2 I don't die in .2 seconds because damage is out of control like in SWTOR. In GW2 skill more than pressing one of your 8 CC buttons to stun/push/pull people like in SWTOR takes precedent . The only thing that SWTOR really has on GW2 is story. By that, I mean everything that encompasses it, like cutscenes, etc. The story in SWTOR is the only reason I continue to play this game. I find it highly enjoyable and I will miss it with other games. I may play both due to GW2 being F2P, but it's unlikely. SWTOR just isn't that good of a game. GW2 will be a good MMO, the developers know what they are doing, unlike EAware. If a player looks beyond the Star Wars IP, and the pretty good story, what does SWTOR have left to really say it's an amazing MMO? Nothing.
  10. While I agree with the concept, one server wouldn't work. IMO, they should close all but about 6 servers. Two PVE, PvP, one RP, and one RP-PVP - something for everyone with populated worlds. Too bad this is all a pipe dream.
  11. Reviews are hardly objective.
  12. Pretty fair review, the only thing I would draw argument with is the servers. It's definitely not a 5/10, it's at best 2/10 the way they are handling the situation. The forecast for the population at launch to 3+ months later was awful. They opened way too many servers, and haven't done anything to remedy the horrible situation on the many dead servers. Yes, they've been saying it's in discussion, but really... taking much too long.
  13. Truth in this post. I'm leveling my Scoundrel right now as a Sawbones.. and Corso is just awful. At least he's a tank and I'm the healer though so it negates how stupid he is because I can survive pretty much any encounter. When I tranq targets, sometimes he breaks the tranq. When I attack a target, an average person would assume that your companion would assist you. Nope, not companions. They attack whatever the hell they feel like. I've played with healing companions as well, and it's even worse when you have to depend on them to keep you alive. The healing companion should be focused on keeping the player above 50% hp at all times, everything else should be second. Really, the AI is pretty horrible. It brings me back to my Anarchy Online days where the classes with pets struggled with them massively. As the OP said, this game would be much more enjoyable with competent companions.
  14. I'd recommend an alienware personally. I bought my second one last year in November and I couldn't be happier. yeah, it doesn't have the power of a desktop and the mobility isn't that of a normal laptop... but it does what I want. Can run mostly everything at high with no issues and when I need to pick up and go somewhere... it takes me a minute to pack it up. It was pretty pricey though, but you expect to pay that premium with Alienware. I would also recommend looking into Sager for a laptop similar to Alienware. They are usually cheaper than Alienware, but the quality is similar from what I've read.
