  1. I still haven't seen an official close date for the DvL event. Does it end before the release of KotET (i.e. in November, which would seem to be what the devs have suggested), or does it end in December, when the Double XP ends?
  2. Patch 4.7 - or some version of it - is live on the servers right now. I just logged in, and the game went through a full patch. When I finally got to the character select screen, I got the same error prompt as everyone else, and like many others have suggested, I just ignored it and clicked 'Play' on one of my characters. When I got into the game, I noticed that I had access to Chapter XVI of KotFE, as well as the Guss Tuno Alliance Alert and the 'new pack experience.' However, whatever patch this is doesn't seem to be complete - the fix to HK-55's achievements indicated in the patch notes isn't present, and the 220-rating vendor outside the Eternal Championship isn't around either. Might want to have a look at things, Bioware.
  3. Still looking for a good Republic-side guild that's capable of doing this. Any takers?
  4. Prior to 4.0, I had paid Torva Nex for a series of Ops runs, and I was very satisfied with the experience. Now I'm looking to accomplish the same thing for a toon on the Republic side, only I don't know of any guilds that are offering paid Ops. I think that what I'm looking for will prove pretty simple for any guild that does Ops regularly, and I'm willing to pay reasonable compensation for whatever help is provided. If any guilds would like to offer their services, please let me know either via PM or by posting here. I'd be happy to discuss further details with anyone interested.
  5. I'm actually kind of relieved to see this thread. I thought I was the only one to experience this glitch, and that the generic customer service response of "this is a bug, hope it gets fixed soon, so sorry" portended a future of questline purgatory for my Agent. Regardless, if you're out there, Bioware, please get this onto your high priority list.
  6. Still looking for this decoration. Anyone interested in a fair exchange, my contact info is above.
  7. Have all other planetary displays available for trade. Would also buy Tatooine decoration for a reasonable price. Post here, send a PM, or whisper in-game (Evadevil on Empire, Renardo on Republic) if interested.
  8. Just sent you a PM. Hope to hear back from you guys soon!
  9. It's definitely possible to win the fight without doing anything, as I've done it myself. It's risky, though. When Satele Shan gets taken out (like she, and she alone, always does), you lose the massive HP buff from her battle meditation. If you get bad luck on the timing, you can subsequently take enough damage during the orbs phase to die. It doesn't always happen, but it happens regularly enough that I usually just do the stupid orbs and then go back AFK. Regardless, though, I completely agree that the fight is terrible. It was an interesting idea, and I love it from the perspective of the narrative, but the gameplay execution is just totally lacking. I mean, it says a lot that the boss that the expansion is named after can be beaten while AFK.
  10. That would explain why I could never find it again. Strikes me as being pretty counterintuitive, but it is what it is. Thanks for the info. Guess I'll have to be a lot more alert next time around.
  11. A long time ago, I remember doing an Imperial-side staged quest in House Alde on Alderaan. On the last several toons I've run through Alderaan, though, I haven't been able to find that quest again, and it's bugging me. So now I'm turning here for help. I think the quest was a staged bonus attached to another mission in that area. I remember defacing a few of the Jedi monuments in the area, then altering a holograph into the Imperial symbol, and then fighting a Jedi. I have no idea where to pick the quest up, or even where to look for it. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I know the quest is still active, because I've encountered other people in-game doing it, but no one can tell me where to go to grab it. Thanks in advance!
  12. I can second this. During the same time frame you mentioned, I went to check my mail with about a dozen items in my inbox. I opened the one that had been there the longest (which happened to be payment from a GTN auction), clicked on the 'take credits' button, and was instead treated to an error window that said 'Mail Operation Failed.' For the rest of the night, I couldn't access any of those twelve mailings.
  13. Rather than create a new thread on the subject of SWTOR's performance on different hardware, I figured I'd bump this one to ask my question. Anyway, my current PC is on its deathbed, and I plan on buying a new one soon. The only thing I'll really be using it for (aside from some web browsing and word processing) is SWTOR. My question is, for someone with a modest budget and limited understanding of computer hardware, which processor and graphics card options do you guys feel perform best with this game? Reading through this thread, the i5 seems to be the most recommended processor choice - does anyone agree or disagree? And can anyone give me any advice on what to look at gfx card-wise? I'm currently running an Nvidia Geforce 530, but I was thinking about upgrading into at least the 700 series.
  14. I, too, would like to see this happen, but there's a legitimate reason why it won't. Barnacles of the Eyeless aren't stackable so they can be looted (and rolled on) individually from Eyeless. If they were stackable, they'd drop as a stack, and thus would only be lootable as a single stack. I think most people would find that very frustrating. One change to this event that I would like to see, though, is the Exotic Plague Specimens that drop from the rotating world bosses (Shellshock, Plaguehorn and Toxxun) being made Bind to Legacy from Bind on Pickup. I can't think of any technical reason for that event currency not to be shareable (and poolable) across Legacy, especially given that the other four currencies are.
  15. Hello! As the title states, I’m looking to join a guild in order to experience SWTOR’s Operations. My case is probably different from those of most other players, though, so let me explain a bit. I’ve been subscribed to and playing SWTOR ever since the game was in beta. I play the game primarily for the story – I’m a Star Wars fan, and I’m very interested in seeing all the narrative content that’s available in the game. By now I’ve experienced most of the solo PvE content, as well as most of the small group content. What I’ve never done, and would very much like to do, is complete the nine Operations on each faction. Aside from one long-ago aborted attempt, I’ve never even tried doing an Op. That’s why I’d like to join a guild. I’ve never been in an active guild in this game, and I’m hoping that I’ll be able to find one that can help me see the Operation stories that I’ve missed out on in my solo play over the years. The thing is, I don’t know how available I can be for any guild that I join. My work and family lives are very busy, and so I can’t say whether I’ll be able to commit to a regular schedule for anything in-game. I know for sure that I won’t be participating in any kind of progression raiding or PvP content – those aren’t my cup of tea, and I really don’t have the time for them anyway. Beyond that, I’d definitely do my best to be as helpful and involved as my time and energy permit. Really, what I’m looking for is a casual-friendly guild that can help me play through all the game’s Ops, including the Classic ones. I’m more than willing to work with any guild that takes me up on this, and I plan on pulling my weight to the greatest extent that I’m able. I have decent gear and some in-game resources available to me as well, so I’m not going to be showing up empty-handed. Anyway, that’s my story. Anyone who read this far, thanks for your time. If there are any guild leaders out there who’d like to contact me, you can either send me a PM here on the forums or try a /whisper to either of my mains in the game. My Empire toon is Evadevil, a Hatred Assassin, and my Republic toon is Renardo, a Shield Specialist Vanguard. I know this all sounds weird, but this is an honest request. I’m not a jerk, and I’ll be happy to prove it over time to anyone.
  16. I thought the writers actually handled the situation well, given what they were trying to accomplish. I, too, entered SOR expecting to keep my Warrior loyal to the Emperor, character-wise. The quest on Rishi actually allows you to do just that, even in the face of the evidence Vowrawn presents (the spy droids). You're still able to stubbornly stick to that loyalty on Yavin 4 at first, during your initial conversations with Marr. The conversation with Iven, however, does an effective job of revealing the Emperor's true plans for the Warrior, and your character is able to recognize that his life may indeed depend on stopping the Emperor. By the time you've reached the end of SOR, and the Emperor issues a blunt threat against the Warrior as he returns, it's not a stretch to say that the universal Sith survival instinct would kick in. By that point, the Warrior's withdrawing his loyalty and seeking revenge against his former master is pretty well-founded. It's true that the whole thing was a bit forced, but I thought the writers handled a tough narrative conundrum pretty well.
  17. I know we don't have the whole picture yet, due to 3.1 existing only on the PTS and not yet even being officially 'announced,' but let me get this straight... Does this PTS patch really seem to indicate that the "big idea" in the next major title update is a two-million credit (or the equivalent of four real dollars in cash shop money) character-specific perk that's designed to save players a half-second channel time every once in a while? Unless I'm missing something here, I really, really hope there's a lot more to 3.1 than what's been revealed.
  18. One more thing to note that may or may not be related to this bug: some of the decorations from the new packs do not appear in the proper category on the GTN. Many of them are listed incorrectly under Signs.
  19. It looks like 3.0 bugged all the decorations that are available from the prefab droids. They don't show up in my decoration list at all anymore, and when I try to interact with the ones that I've already placed in my strongholds, the Edit Mode window incorrectly displays the first decoration listed alphabetically from the same category and won't allow me to manipulate it at all. Any idea what's going on here?
  20. All these ideas are nice, but I'd be a whole lot happier if the devs would just take some time to fix the myriad little, non-game-breaking bugs in the game. After years of neglecting all but a handful of smaller bugs, they're really starting to pile up. Really, my wish would be that they'd just head over to the Bug Reports forum, pick a random page, and start working away.
  21. A few of my favorites: Seeing that Imperial/Republic Targeting Device on the early-planet vendor. Plunking down the credits for it. Cleaning out your cargo bay thirty levels later and finding it. Realizing you never bothered to use it because it's utterly worthless. Throwing it away. Carefully deciding when to use your Emergency Fleet Pass, because you didn't want to waste the 24-hour cooldown. Playing space missions for the dailies, because they're actually worthwhile. Companion gifts don't stack, because why would anyone ever want to have a lot of those? Getting rich off of Slicing lockbox missions. Also, completely ignoring augment missions, because augments are borderline useless. C2-N2 and 2V-R8 never, ever, ever shut up. Like, even more so than nowadays. Stubbornly refusing to spend the credits on a speeder because you're getting around fine without one. Making it to the Dune Sea. Immediately changing your mind. Exploring the Dune Sea with your newly acquired speeder. Finding that glowing skull surrounded by dead Jawas. Wondering what it does. Clicking it to find out. Finding out, the hard way. Finishing Alderaan. Polishing off whatever remained of your Chapter 1 missions and unlocking Legacy. Naming your Legacy. Forgetting about it completely, because that's all it is.
  22. To answer your question: yes, absolutely. All game content is available at appropriate levels without doing your character's class storyline. I have a Jedi Knight at max level who has yet even to start Chapter 1, so it's totally doable. Once you get to the Fleet for the first time, go do whatever you like!
  23. Hey everyone! This might sound a little strange, so please let me explain myself before you troll me. I’d never really spent a lot of time with PC games generally or MMOs in particular before SWTOR. I’m a huge Star Wars fan, though, and because I really enjoyed KOTOR and KOTOR 2, I signed up for the SWTOR beta years ago. Long story short, I got a chance to try the game as the beta was in its final stages, got hooked, and have been subscribed ever since. My reason for playing is pretty simple: I like to see as much of the story content as I can. Because of that, I’m definitely a very casual player. I don’t have any interest in playing for end-game progression or PvPing. The time I have available to play the game is also limited by my real-life responsibilities. Generally speaking, I’ve spent most of my SWTOR time until now with the parts of the game that are playable solo. With that said, lately I’ve been thinking about how much I’d like to experience the story content from all of the Operations. Now, I know that the usual way to do this is to join a guild, but since I prefer to play casually (and solo) when time permits, this isn’t really a very attractive option. I doubt any guild out there would want to recruit me just so I can experience each Op once, and I certainly don’t want to waste any guild’s time by joining and then never participating. I know the Groupfinder option is available for Ops these days, but I’ve had some bad experiences trying to run anything tougher than a Flashpoint with a random group, and so I’d like to avoid having to resort to that. Anyway, here’s my request: are there any guilds or regular groups of players who would be willing to help me through a full run of any or all of the Operations? I’d just like to see each Op once per faction. I don’t care about what difficulty level – on my Empire and Republic mains, my gear is all at least 162-rated, so I should be able to handle everything in at least Story Mode. I don’t know most of the Ops fights, but I’ve done tons of SWTOR group content, so I shouldn’t need more than a quick explanation to get by. I’m not looking for a free ride, either. I’ll contribute whatever is necessary to get this done, be it credits or some other form of tribute. Anyway, if there are any guilds or groups of either faction out there who are willing to help me, please let me know via PM or by posting here. Regardless, thanks for your time!
  24. Just noticed I have this bug as well. I bought five of the blue Gree lights, and even placed one in a room in my stronghold. Yet as of right now, my list of available decorations says I have 0/0, and I'm unable to place any more. Thankfully, the one I have placed already is still there, but this is still an annoyance. Any update on whether or not this is going to get fixed?
  25. That's what I thought. Anyone else agree? Or has someone else actually seen one...?
