  1. The droid is a healer yes but a pretty crappy one. For jedi knights anyway.. you lost too much dps for too little healing. Doc who we get later is good enough to keep you alive during battles but in the earlier stages we just lost too much dps going with c2-cn who didnt heal enough so we where better having just extra dps to kill enemys quickly. His fight stance is quite comedic though
  2. Interrupts, interrupts, interrupts. I cannot stress enough how important it is for the majority of the jedi knight bosses to get good at your interrupts. Most of the big hitter attacks are interruptable by force kick, force stasis (and whatever else guardians get i am a sentinel.. ) whenever you see an attack progress bar on the enemy use an interrupt. If the have a lot of those attacks work out which ones do the most damage and only interrupt those.
  3. Basically, nothing is more evil then a classically trained brittish actor..
  4. A lot of people have had success with t7 as a tank yes. I personally used kira but its up to you really and i know the sith you are referring to but it is not scourge and not a companion. You don't get scourge until well into the 40s generally.
  5. Yeah im confused scourge at 30? haha I pretty much used kira all the way until i got doc. It was slightly odd at first since kira did provide a lot of DPS with mobs but once i got used to being the primary source of damage with doc healing it was just so much easier because of his healing abilitys. PRE-doc i'd either avoid elites outwith grouping with other players or have a great struggle with them but now its no sweat at all.. Occasionally in later levels you do get the odd close encounter but the main way around this is to use force camo and back off for a second to regain a few hps and jump in while the elite is still aggroed with doc and this usually gives enough time to finish the elite. At first you won't even have to worry about that though.
  6. Main thing i can say is use your interrupts on interruptable attacks tbh.. force kick, stasis etcetc... might seem fundamental but the stage of sentinel you're at now basically training you to make it second nature to interrupt any attacks... Do not fear you do get doc a healer companion later on in the mid 30s which makes things a lot easier but i think they wait so long to give you a decent healer companion to train that up. It does make things very close when it comes to elites/bosses/whatever for a while until you get doc.
  7. Imagine all the voice acting of a wookie though wouldnt it kinda grate after a while? I'd love to play one tbf Bet a few years down the line it'll end up the TOR version of pandas if we're not careful
  8. You'd be surprised how many people you see on this forum complaining about the game not being well optomised because it doesnt run well on a low-mid range laptop with integrated/discrete graphics chips that werent designed with gaming in mind...
  9. Do you have any techy friends that build there own pcs could get them to guide you through it. Otherwise there is a crap tonne of videos on youtube. Its mainly just plugging stuff in, organising cables for airflow and using a phillips screwdriver. The only thing weird is applying the thermal compound which can be a bit scary at first lol. Hardest part honestly is probably selecting the components and making sure you get the right stuff once you get past that stuff only really plugs in one way.. If you suggest a budget on the forum you could probably get people to help as well.
  10. I would not bother with that laptop personally it has some cool innovations i suppose like the touchscreen bit but the gpu is too weak to be considering gaming grade. Personally i think gaming laptops in there current state are overpriced paperweights anyway since they eat up battery life like no tomorrow so you're plugged 80% of the time anyway which is why a desktop is a lot better idea since you get a lot more gpu power there! If you can consider putting the money into one of those build a high end desktop instead you will not regret it and probably have change for a mid range laptop for everyday use..
  11. Starting to look slightly dated now i suppose but still powerful IMO asus p6t deluxe v2 intel i7 920@ 4ghz Noctua nh-d14 cooler 6gb g skill nq series 1600mhz (with pretty standard timings) xfx ati hd5870 3 various 1tb hard drives and one tiny 60b ssd (TOR ISNT ON THAT ) coolermaster silent pro 700w All contained within a fractal define r3 equipped with noctua fans every fan in the system running at half speed with no overheating.
  12. Yeah IMO its pretty bad practice to build a rig around sli/crossfire unless you are made of money and are going for two of the highest end single gpus. The best use of the feature is a year or two down the line when the prices on the card drop you can then buy another one to give you system a tad more life. Make sure you get a good power supply if you plan on doing that though.
  13. Just noticed he had 2 550tis I'd go for a single 560ti sli is more hassle then its worth IMO. I'd go for a better single card you could always upgrade to another one in the future for something even more powerful when prices drop!
  14. Don't go with the amd fx series cpus they are garbage, the old phenom 2s are better and the intel i5 2500k wins for gaming over all of them.. 550ti is alright but an upgrade the a 560ti would be worth it.
  15. I play a pink twilek sentinel represent.
  16. the daily space combat missions are fairly easy, get you a tonne of xp and like 15,000 credits a day. Not the best space combat experience though i find it pretty funny except the escort missions but the rewards are there. Slicing isn't as profitable as it once was but the stuff you get from lock boxes and stuff for other crafting skills you can can easily sell on market for credits once you max your level out..
  17. I notice this but mainly when using force kick as an interrupt. I see the attack interrupted but no actual animation...
  18. gpu in this case and most cases. SSD is also cool but actual in game performance won't be improved all that much just loading times mainly you wont see higher fps or anything. They are really rad for everyday useage however.
  19. There is a lot of ways to level up in this game.. I'm 41 just now but honestly if i hadnt waited till level 39 to try pvp and hadnt been so focused on exams lately i'd probably be 50 already.. I have been taking my sweet time though i mean i went in on early access and i've been lapping up the storylines etc but in my opinion it doesnt take much longer to level up later on then it does in the 20s and 30s.. Infact there was a few day period where i had basically ran out of credits and had my gear in a state of disrepair so i had to start looking into crafting, space combat so i could keep myself financially stable.. i'm relatively new to mmorpgs so stuff like that can happen LOL then once i made money i got distracted with upgrading my ship etc so yeah theres a lot to do.. you can level up fast but its just as fun to level up in a slower fashion. 1-20 for me where really quick because i had done it all in beta.. space combat, bonus missions (the bonuses that come in stages) on side quests with bosses (these give you WAY more xp then the main quest), herorics all give you a **** tonne of xp its not hard to level up.
  20. Edit: ^yep Also i am pretty sure the 4200 series are integrated graphics.. exactly.. Also a rig like i suggested would be able to play any game for the next few years at high-max settings as well.. The setup you mentioned is a basic pc probably best in an office not for gaming.. unless you only play unreal tournament (not that theres anything wrong with that...)
  21. It will likely run it but not very well and at low settings For good performance on this game you want a good quad core cpu, best bang for the buck atm for gaming is the intel 2500k and for a gpu you'll want a gtx560/hd6870 or higher end. Obviously you can get decent results on systems lower than this but a setup like above would max this game no problem at all at 1080p
  22. Of all the ************ and complaining on this forum this is the one of the only complaints i can half agree with.. haha
  23. 10?!?! anyway alot of the cards that have an aftermarket cooler design are usually quieter then reference cards but you need to look at reviews. Quite a lot of the cards designed for overclocking are really quiet when you have the gpu at its stock speeds as the cooler doesnt need to work as hard (infact they are usually quieter overclocked the reference stock..). gpu choice is up to you here really.. Best way to know about loudness it to look at reviews of any cards that interest you..
