  1. Earlier in the thread somebody claims to have redeemed him without having seen the scene. I'd like to hear more confirmation but I guess I have to believe him until I hear confirmation otherwise.
  2. Nope. Officially **** out of luck. Customer service won't help us, and nobody's suggestions have worked. I thank everybody for their help, I truly appreciate it, but we're done. We've tried *everything* we or you could think of and we're just plain screwed. Thank you, Bioware, for making such a wonderful game, and providing such caring customer service.
  3. Well, we're going to try again with Tharan out the whole time. She said she's pretty sure we did do a round of conversation with Tharan there, but I'm not so sure, myself. Through normal play she has Tharan for combat and Nadia for conversation [since she's much more appreciative of Force users than Tharan ^_^ and once Nadia's maxed she'll be using Iresso the same way... not that that's relevant >.>], and I'm pretty sure she switched out every time. If that doesn't work, I have no idea what to do. I want us to begin dailies to work on our gear, and this is a huge roadblock to getting started. Customer service still fails to service customers, leaving a very sour note in our mouths.
  4. Oh wow. That... that really bugs me now. So you might successfully save him, but it shows him dying? That's as bad as my own Consular being both married and not married to Nadia at the same time.
  5. I saw the room with the holostatue of Syo and an apparent family member, but we never saw a cutscene nor did we get an option to mention his family. That would be really, REALLY ****** of Bioware to make it that obscure.
  6. Okay, well, for the record she's Light V and saved everybody, and *has* relentlessly told him she intends to redeem him... but if we believe DarkSaberMaster, that doesn't seem necessary. This is maddening. We want to move on to doing the Belsavis bonus series and unlock our dailies, but neither of us is willing to let her story end on such an unfulfilling note. Seriously, it's like playing a tabletop RPG and the DM just told us "rocks fall, everybody dies" - except that rocks only fell on Syo. That's not acceptable to us I'm also paranoid now, because my own Consular is 46 and on Voss, and I don't want to run into the same problems on him.
  7. Okay, my fiancée and I are working together to do our Jedi Knight and Consular stories. We're both fifty, and tonight we tackled the First Son for the Consular finale. Twice, we beat him, but the choices and outcome of the cutscene following the fight left us both extremely displeased; we left after both times to reset the mission, hoping to figure out how to redeem Syo. We've watched youtube videos of this scene, and she picked the same exact options as shown in the video - but for us, Syo fails to oust the First Son persona, and a cutscene fight breaks out, ending with Syo buried under tons of stone. She refuses to accept that, and I refuse to believe that on my own Consular I'm going to be locked out of the good ending of the story too. So the question is: what went wrong, and is it possible to fix it? Is Syo's fate sealed at some earlier time? That would be intensely dissatisfying if true, but it would explain why the correct dialog options yielded the undesired result. If it *is* true, how far back was the decision which caused Syo's eventual death? And if it's *not* true, if there's something that can be done *during* this mission, please help us to understand what we're doing wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  8. That doesn't help. Many of us are night owls, or in drastically different timezones, but often the *end* of maintenance is not at a time we can play. The BEGINNING is. I'd rather they start two hours later than end two hours sooner. And for ****'s sake, ONCE a week. If the developers would communicate with the community, and if the PTRs had character copies or premades to facilitate testing, they wouldn't need so many patches to fix what they screw up. It's their fault for not working with the community, and the community pays for it - both in the extra downtime for some of us; and the new and exciting bugs that have to be fixed NOW for the majority of us.
  9. I'm guessing you don't read the missions; nor did you read my post. I do not want to do missions to aid the Imperial cause. Story matters, damnit. My character is very pro-Republic, she'll do Light or Dark regardless, as long as it helps the Republic. The missions I'm being given in Diplomacy are *not* Republic missions, they're Imperial. I do not want them showing up. It's either a bug or a huge oversight on Bioware's part.
  10. So my Republic Commando is a Biochemist, which means her crew skills include Diplomacy. The problem is, virtually all of the missions I'm seeing, regardless of alignment, are described as helping the Empire. Some examples: Light Side moderate Grade 4 Medical Supplies: After their CEO was killed by a Sith, Taerab Starship Manufacturing is refusing to build any more Imperial dreadnaughts. Have your companion smooth things over. Dark Side moderate Grade 4 Medical Supplies: An influential Alderaanian lord has suffered a major financial loss, presenting a unique opportunity to put the man in the Empire's pocket. Send a companion to take advantage. Light Side moderate Grade 4 Medical Supplies: There are stirrings of dissent on the Imperial colony of Antamont. Your companion could quell this unrest before the Empire needs to send reinforcements. Light Side bountiful Rank 2 companion gifts: Two noble families have both claimed an ancient relic on Dromund Kaas, and are on the verge of war. Send your companion to calm the situation. Dark Side rich Rank 2 companion gifts: The Hutt Cartel is offering the Empire a shipment of Force-sensitive slaves... at an exorbitant price. Your companion could arrange a better deal. What? Since when did taking Diplomacy mean I'm going to be a traitor to the Republic? In a game so heavily based on story, I can't just willynilly send my companions out to help the enemy. That sits very wrong with me. Worse, I almost never actually have loyal Republic options - once in a blue moon I'll see Republic-centric missions, but the majority I get are Imperial. Is it really so hard to split Imp, Rep and neutral missions into separate pools, making it so only Imps see Imp missions, only Reps see Rep missions, and both can see the neutral ones?
  11. So in short... you need a lot more ship upgrades than the mission claims to call for. It's ridiculously overtuned compared to other missions around its level.
  12. If they were going to use it for their character, they would roll need. This is not about others not being respectful, this is about you fundamentally misunderstanding how the system works.
  13. This boss isn't even a little bit funny. I have a mid-300s Cybertech and Artificer, so my level 41 Kinetic Shadow is very well geared. I solo every lone Champion I run across without a problem. This guy is NOT an elite, he's *worse* than a Champion.
  14. Unfortunately a lot of the people who roll up on PvP server do so purely to inconvenience others. When a party of five think it's fun to gang up on one dude significantly lower in level than they are... you know it's time to pack your bags for PvE. OP, you found nice guys; if the whole Republic was like that, there would be no players Repside on a PvP server. Don't expect that treatment again.
