  1. Your contribution to the thread is that you are calling the guy that Darkestmonty described as being a troll? The day or two that I had 200 gear in arena, guess what? I was called a troll.
  2. I was being constructive as to the best path going forward.
  3. I am doing arenas to do two separate quests where that completing arena will go toward the completion of these quests. What's the problem? Is it that you think your feelings trumps my right to be there? What's specifically the problem?
  4. The og poster of this thread is talking about premades and matchmaking. Why are you bringing up group queue dying? This is a topic about low population issue and you should make a separate thread on how to raise the population for pvp queue and not derail his thread with a separate issue. This thread here is discussing premades and matchmaking while low pvp population is a separate issue.
  5. I don't get it. Someone use small words and tell me why we need ranked back? Everyone that pvp is put together. What's wrong with that? As I said, we just need to give the match making software the ability to move all premades to a separate queue which will allow matchmaking to do its job which is to strive for perfect balance. Let's work on balance first and when that's done, we can talk about how to grow the population in a separate thread like server merger or whatever and we can all look into our crystal balls and discuss if we think they'll do it or not. But I digress. Right now all we should be doing is pushing for them to give matchmaking making software the means to put all premades into their own separate queue and this would give the most benefit when striving for perfect balance and will create competition which we all desire since a close fight is the best fight.
  6. I'm doing arenas because I have two quests to finish. I realize you think your emotions trump my right to be there but so what? Thanks for sharing your feelings I guess? please reread my post because I don't think you get it.
  7. Okay? If you can't understand what I said then I can't help you.
  8. Again, I got it. 2 man premade ( pick whatever number less than eight) bad but less bad than whatever higher number of premade. Separate queue will kill things? Why? if you're saying a separate queue will kill pvp because we already have a low pvp population and it would divide it then my answer to that we should work on matchmaking first and give it the tools like allow matchmaking software to put premades into a separate queue because this will be the biggest change while it strives for perfect balance. (After we work on balance we can work on population. I can create a thread if you want to address the separate issue of population and ask for suggestions like server mergers or whatever and the pros and cons and feelings about if they'll make whatever changes.) Good players will stomp bad players, sure. It's the matchmaking software job to strive to even out the good players on both sides. If your argument is that good players are only premade players than let me address it this way. The best pvp players are solo 1 v 1 players and takes the most skill. let me explain why in this way. premades will focus on one person to kill them as fast as possible and thusly remove any skill. 100 vs 1. This fight uses no skill on the side of the attacker or the person being attack and the fight ends instantly. 20 vs 1. Same thing but maybe more skill is used on both sides 10 vs 1. Same thing but more skill used on both sides. 4 vs 1. Even more skill is used on both sides. 2 vs 1. Even more skill is used on both sides. 1 v 1. The most skill used on both sides. 1v1 takes and uses the most skill. Many of those that premade won't 1v1 and there is a reason for that. It takes the most skill and those that premade need to keep practicing in premades to get to this level. My suggestion is that if you want to see how skilled you are, make everything as equal as possible in the 1 v 1 ie gear, class, etc. skill is not game knowledge. My game knowledge is zip and yet I kill those with way more game knowledge even with everything, like gear and class or whatever, being equal. Why can I kill those with more game knowledge? With everything being equal the person with more game knowledge should win, right? Not so because there is another factor that makes a difference and that difference would be skill. A utuber once said that 1 v 1 takes no skill and he couldn't be more wrong. But I have digressed. This part on the bottom you said wasn't addressed to what I posted so I guess I don't need to respond to your points other than to say that pvpers are competitive by nature and want competitive gameplay and that's why we should strive for balance by giving the tools to the matchmaking software to do its job. Like give it the ability to put premades into their own separate queue which would be the biggest thing you can do when striving for perfect balance. But PVE players have a roll too and that's to do the PVE(player vs environment) objective where that objective is the environment. Side note: I haven't learned how to use the quotes or how to work the reply software so I apologize to you and all if this is too hard to read. If it is to hard to read and follow then don't respond and ignore all that I've said. I won't mind.
  9. 8 man premade bad (unacceptable) 7 man premade slightly less bad (unacceptable) 6 man premade again slightly less bad (unacceptable) 5 man premade again slightly less bad (unacceptable) 4 man premade again slightly less bad (unacceptable) 3 man premade again slightly less bad (unacceptable) 2 man premade again slightly less bad but still bad (acceptable ) I got it. Constructive part: SWTOR needs to look into improving its matchmaking software whose job it is to strive for perfect balance which will result in competitive gameplay. Premades are absolutely part of matchmaking and not separate: The biggest thing the matchmaking making software could do in striving for perfect balance is to put premades in their own separate queue. lets work on balance first and after we can work on population.
  10. Lmao you want to police yourself? Yeah that's a great idea! The worse part is that SWTOR at one time thought that policing yourself was a good idea and allows players to kick others. They should fire those that decided that. Let me give a reality check for those that want to post about their feelings. -Ranked is gone. -Throwing was put in for ranked play so isn't a thing anymore. Ranked gone. -Arena is not ranked. It's equivalent to warzones now. -Anyone can play arena and anyone can play war zone. Ranked gone. In regards to the thrower. Who cares? See above points. I mean sure you can post your feelings but I think this should be reserved for your loved ones. Ranked is gone so throwing is no longer a thing. I realize by reading this thread that you want SWTOR to enforce your feelings but they should not. Yesterday I was in arena with 200 something gear and was doing my quests and every game I got complaints about my gear. Did I have every right to be there? Absolutely. Was I breaking the TOS? Absolutely not. Do people feel I shouldn't queue without better gear? Absolutely Now imagine if these same people had the ability to kick me and now you have the answer as to why you shouldn't be allowed to police yourself. The constructive part of my post: we all have the same equal right to be there and your feelings don't trump anyone else's right to be there.
  11. My constructive part of my post is to let the matchmaking software do its job of striving for perfect balance and put all premade in a separate queue(SWTOR please look into this issue). This would be the biggest thing the matchmaking software could do when striving for perfect balance. 8 man premade bad (unacceptable) 7 man premade slightly less bad (unacceptable) 6 man premade again slightly less bad (unacceptable 5 man premade again slightly less bad (unacceptable) 4 man premade again slightly less bad (unacceptable) 3 man premade again slightly less bad (unacceptable) 2 man premade again slightly less bad (acceptable) I got it.
  12. Premades are a matchmaking issue and the matchmaking software should strive for perfect balance and should put premades into their own separate queue and this needs to be addressed by SWTOR because it will provide the biggest balance to matchmaking that you can do. 8 man premade bad but 4 man premade okay??? Asking for 4 man premade is like asking for a lesser bad and those that ask for 4 man premade shouldn't be taken seriously by SWTOR. if I was SWTOR and I read someone asking for 4 man premade, I'd think that this person doesn't desire competitive pvp because he doesn't strive for perfect balance. Since he's asking for a lesser bad, let's just keep it at 8 man.
  13. Of course premades are an issue of matchmaking. The job of the matchmaking software is to make both sides balanced. The biggest balance that can be possibly be made is to put premades in their own queue. The matchmaking software needs to put premades into their own separate queue to providing the biggest benefit to balance (the intent of the software) that can possibly be made and SWTOR needs to address this issue. Lets get balance sorted out and then we can work on population.
