  1. You are confusing FPS with lag. Lag comes from the extra distance the network requests must travel. So we went from a 40millisecond ping time up to 400-500ms ping time. That translates to seeing actions process slower as the action must go to the US and then back to your computer. Changing your graphics won't help that, nothing can apart from having the servers physically closer to you. If US customers had to put up with 500ms ping to the servers there would be big trouble.
  2. Just got that as well. Quit playing a few weeks ago though, APAC server was dead and the US lag blows. Sub cancelled. Thanks for the memories SWToR. I did have a great time playing and loved the character stories and companions.
  3. Awesome, just what I wanted to hear. Thanks to all the arses that pushed for a US server merge. You couldn't have just waited for server transfers and moved yourselves?
  4. F'ing A. I was very happy with a low ping a guild of friends to play with. Now we have turmoil, no guild and a massive ping. Thanks for nothing.
  5. Very interested in this as well. It would be worthwhile to wait out the time if I don't have to recreate the entire guild. That would be a major pain...
  6. This is what I am worried about, does the higher ping afffect the game at all? What about PVP, surely it is a disadvantage there.
  7. Yes a few of us noticed this a while ago. Even though the FPS numbers are lower when using the ram disk gameplay was actually smoother. Maybe lower average FPS but higher lows if you know what I mean.
  8. Three packs aren't going to do it for you...I bought over 60 packs spread over 4 different characters. I got one Aratech Nethian. Not a single Skiff, just one speeder... Not complaining as I sold the tat on the GTN for nearly 10million credits but one speeder in that many packs seems a bit rough?
  9. I have found the opposite, on my server a lot of the stuff from the first couple of packs is hard to get as no one buys those packs any more. That made me decide to keep back a lot of the doubled up gear from these packs to sell later. It looks like the best time to buy the gear from the GTN is around 1-2 weeks after the pack is released.
  10. The mounts seem fairly rare - I opened nearly 70 packs (across 2 accounts and 4 chars) trying for a Skiff. Ended up with one Aratech Nethian, that is a pretty low drop rate for mounts. From now on I'll just buy the mounts that go on Cartel Market.
  11. Exactly. This game already has enough exclusive vendor content. Each planet has its own currency (commendations) and associated vendor. There is the social system currency and vendor along with the Legacy currency and vendor. The last thing we need is another form of currency and vendor like this Rep system. I would prefer scrapping and unifying many of the other currencies as it is.
  12. No worries, Exca. This is a great tool. I am using the batch files and presume they won't need any future maintenance.
  13. My loading times were always great with the SSD (I have a 256GB OCZ Vertex 4). The RAM Drive helped with loading art assets that was causing hitching (little jerks in the motion). I actually saw a small FPS drop from using the RAM drive but a much smoother performance overall.
  14. Yes, I am using the All In One batch file and Mount batch file. Works really well! Thank you very much Exca!
  15. Just coming back to say that FPS have stabilised in the 50 -60FPS range on Ultra High settings (no AA but FXAA forced through drivers) and all hitching has gone. I hadn't realised just how much hitching there was in this game until I used the RAMdisk, it is silky smooth now. Cheers to all who worked on this project!
  16. That didn't work. Following the manual method though with the All-In-One batch file did the trick though. Once the batch is set up correctly and run to mount the ramdrive, then just launch ISBoxer as normal. I got some odd performance though. Computer specs are in my sig. I am currently on Taris and noticed that the frame rates nearly halved coming from Coruscant. I was dipping down to the 25s with the average of around 44FPS. There was significant hitching as well while runnign around, I thought this would be a perfect opportunity to test the ramdrive. I set a 6GB ramdrive to be safe. I have 16Gb so that still left me with around 4GB free after SWToR had loaded. I included the cache plus the following: set AssetFile01=swtor_main_art_fx_1 set AssetFile02=swtor_main_art_dynamic_cape_1 set AssetFile03=swtor_main_art_dynamic_chest_1 set AssetFile04=swtor_main_art_dynamic_chest_tight_1 set AssetFile05=swtor_main_art_dynamic_hand_1 set AssetFile06=swtor_main_art_dynamic_head_1 set AssetFile07=swtor_main_art_dynamic_lower_1 set AssetFile08=swtor_main_art_dynamic_mags_1 set AssetFile09=swtor_main_art_weapon_1 set AssetFile10=swtor_main_area_taris_1 set AssetFile11=swtor_en-us_area_taris_1 I included the Taris files hoping it would speed up the Taris world. What I found though is that my FPS was hovering around 30FPS with dips down to 17FPS. But the game felt much smoother than before. Very odd. Maybe the hitching was so bad that even a lower FPS is better than before. I'll have a play around with the settings and maybe take out the Taris files and see if it gets better. EDIT: sig doesn't seem to be showing up so here are comp specs: Intel 3930k, Gigabyte G1.Assassin.2, 16GB RAM @ 2133MHZ, OCZ Vertex 4 240GB SSD, 2 x Gigabyte GTX 670 2GB SLi, 3 x Dell U2412 monitors in portrait surround for 3880x1920 bezel adjusted resolution, 2 x 500GB HD Raid 0 for storage
