I can see your reading comprehension is limited. it explains a few things. Was explaining how "chat" is essential to this game. You remove the ability to chat in the game then you remove the key part that holds the community to the game. Cross faction Chat will only enhance and improve the community and the game

Are you just trolling because your bored? Have you even read the entire thread? You are bound and determined to oppose anything that makes sense. And you've given no real reason while your against it.

It has been justified multiple times by multiple different people.

I feel slightly different.. RP seems to have been an after though.. they work now to give us al sorts of clothing and such to entice us yet they don't fix the issues that would gain them then greatest in teh RP aspect.

An idea about linked guilds would possibly be to give guild leaders an option at the guild registration NPC to link a guild to on of the opposite side. Allowing them to communicate.

And that is what RP is all about, having fun with your friends, and making new ones.

if you've read the thread you will see where multiple people have stated GOOD ideas at allowing you to turn it off. Just like people can remove themselves from general chat. and who said RP abilities for cross factions was all "kissy huggy?" Do you know what RP is?

SWG ( well at lest it's original form) is still going with SWGEMU and a lot of RPers are helping with that as well

as a video game there are multiple ways to play it. I was not under the impression that you were only allowed to be social outside of video games. And not sure your age, but many are not "kids" but rational adults.

For all those who say /say is enough. How many of you have participated in a Cross Faction RP event? It is a wall of white text where your job is not to RP as much as it is to scroll through all the countless conversations to find that one line the person your talking to posted and reply to it while hoping you didn't miss something else happening or directed towards you. It is the equivilant of being in a crowded room with music blaring and everyone yelling out what they want to say at the exact same moment. How are you supposed to RP let alone carry on a conversation like that?

THere have been many goo ideas on how to limit the abuse. Plus Ignore HOPEFULLY would work as well though sometimes I feel it doesn't.

I see what your saying, but you forget there was a resistance inside Nazi Germany too.. there very well could be Evoci (sp?) on Hutta desperate to try and get help from the republic. The rebellious slaves on Drommund Kaas trying to contact the Republic. Also monitoring the enemies transmissions or planting false and misleading transmissions. There is a ton of possibilites that would open up if Cross faction communications were opened up.

The chair is against the wall, John has a long mustache... those phrases sound familiar at all? They are code phrases that the Allies used during WW2 to talk to resistance members to let them know when to do things. Why did they do that? Because the Axis were listening. The way the game is set up right now they almost assume that the Republic and the Empire ( using the same technology ) somehow cannot intercept or listen into the other side's communications. Yes you are correct that SIS and Imp Intel would be all over trying to find and prosecute traitors and spies.. but that is a part of the RP. Staying one step ahead, or getting caught.

I cannot disagree more. You will always have those who will abuse the system if they can. IF they do send in a harassment report. Get the GM's involved, but don't let the few who can only have fun by trying to make others miserable so that they can feel better about themselves rule and dictate chat features.

you can send mail to YOUR toons only if they are on the opposing faction.

Disallowing Cross faction communications except for /say does not stop pvp harassment. IF someone wants to harass it is easy as heck to log make a BS char on their faction and then log in and send them tells. I've seen it happen before, but what it does do is limit Cross Faction RP. You hae to jump through hoops to organize and do it. Plus there are Many guilds who are on both sides and have no way to communicate between themselves except for 3rd party. There were many good ideas that havev been posted. Please enable Cross faction communications P.S. Saying /say is enough is like saying you don't need a telephone because you can walk across town to talk to talk to someone..
