  1. I just noticed that, which of course makes it worse. And of course no EA drones are watching any of this to make sure the devs know there is a problem. I hate it when I have a limited amount of time to do something and apathetic laziness on the part of someone else can keep me from doing what I want to do, which I also pay for. You'd think they'd have server apps running that would warn *somebody* that there is a problem.
  2. As the subject says. I'm a subscriber, and I'm in a queue, on a server where the population reads "standard", and I've seen it before at heavy and have been able to get in just fine. So what the #$@! is going on Bioware?
  3. As the subject says, my 42 lightning sorc takes considerably worse damage now and Khem, well, he goes down far faster than he ever did before (in all level appropriate blue gear/modded gear, as is my character in all modded level 41 gear). I have other characters that I've adjusted to playing fine but my lightning sorc and my 52 sage (tele) now seem flat out terrible. I can't heal Khem with the piddly heals we have enough to keep him alive, but my Commando and Merc (dps, not healers) both seemed to have retained their healing ability just fine (my dps operative got heal hosed too). (yes, I shield Khem) Prior to 3.0 I played my sorc and sage both pretty well, solo'd often and pvp'd. Now, I have a very rough time trying to complete my Balsavis class quests. Any advice would be appreciated.
  4. Those were REALM ABILITIES earned in RvR, not class abilities, and only melee classes and archers got Ignore Pain (it was removed from assassin classes). (Btw, there was NO realm ability that was immune to CC. There was a couple that had multiple levels that would increase your resistance, but no immunity. Avoidance of Magic at max was only 20% resistance of magic damage and Determination at max was 55% resistance of cc). Tell you what, you get a Sorc/Sage shield on a 15 minute cool down, you can have my 50% health loss 99% immunity for a few seconds on a 15 minute cool down.
  5. Hehe......hehehe....he said "burst". You need to look deeper into it buddy, perhaps try one, before spouting this stuff, because you're way off. We have absolute crap for burst damage. This class is a sustained dps class, not a burst class. CC? Really? What cc do you think we have? Yes, Guardians/Juggs have more cc than we do. Survival skills? Seriously? Force cloak all saber melees have, and it lasts for a couple seconds. The 99% immunity? You realize we lose half our health when we use it right? No? Didn't think so. Bottom line, play one and you'll find the most complex of all the classes in this game, but once you play one you'll realize how far off you are.
  6. If you don't have anything of worth to add to the conversation, go somewhere else. Losing 20% AP is a huge thing, but as you are not an Operative, you're just here to troll.
  7. I'd go for this wholeheartedly. The server I recently moved to with some buddies (from Empire side on Sith Meditation Server to Republic side on a server to be left nameless) is pretty horrible at pvp. Waiting 3 days now to win a match to finish my daily on 3 characters (out of probably 20 matches total). People bail on every match, then other poor suckers come in to a match already dying on the vine.
  8. Wow, you reek of wussification and sound exactly like what I regularly see: People come in, and if the ops group isn't loaded down with 40s, you bail. Phhht.
  9. Good points all. ^^^ I'd rather they dump pvp gear tiers all together and start a system like Dark Age of Camelot, where you earn realm points to purchase skills, but your armor is most likely going to be very similar to everyone else's. Win with skill, not with armor you got because you have no life and ground it out.
  10. Do you play on a pvp server? If not, you've got nothing to talk about.
  11. Sorry pal, I'm light side sith, and I am not fail Random cruelty, kicking puppies and such...juvenile. You can still be the avenging hand of the Emperor crushing all the opponents of the empire without being cruel just because you can. The dark side is about an overwhelming desire to accumulate and wield power, and not inherently evil, unless you allow yourself to be corrupted by it.
  12. Definitely not. I started on the Empire with several friends, and while there is of course the occasional jerk, it's actually a pretty decent community (Sith Meditation Sphere, I'll give it well deserved accolades) One of the great things is that the pvp on SMS is pretty even most of the time too. We win some, lose some, and occasional get rolled or do the rolling. Recently I went to a republic server (with those same buddies) and I'm disappointed greatly in the republic server. Maybe it is an aberration compared to others, but from what I see in /general chat, a good number are a bunch of elitist snobs, and worse, they have no reason to be because they are absolutely horrible in pvp. Nobody talks to each other, nobody even attempts to come up with a plan (as limited as they can be in the warzones) and nearly every match a player or two will leave before it starts if we aren't filled with mostly level 40s. All-in-all, I think it's all pretty random of who plays where and in what faction, but speaking for my Empire server, most are a pretty decent bunch of people. I'm not a "typical" player of what most people would think play Empire either. The average age of an Empire player is most likely a good bit younger than Republic players...but that doesn't apply to me I like both sides of the story equally, and I'm a grandfather
  13. Don't know what server you play on, but on mine (Empire side) now and then there are times I'm the only guy on the team NOT a powertech.
  14. You don't actually KNOW anything about history or war, do you? There IS a reason we use firearms now, and not swords. Range ALWAYS wins. In the case of this and every other mmo, melees/close range fighters are the stepchild classes in pvp, always have been. (excluding stealth classes from this argument, as stealth classes can start and leave the fight when they so choose). There are many mitigating circumstances in the disorganized chaos which is 99% of pvp in TOR which allow melees to be mediocre on average (note I said on average, every dog has their day) and not downright awful. The only ranged classes that truly have a hard time of it on par with melees are the snipers and gunslingers due to the cover system being chained to them. Yes, I play every class on both sides (two different servers) and I have it far easier with my ranged classes. Melees can't hurt you if they can't stay on you. Ranged classes have far more tools to keep melees off them than melees do to be able to close the gap. If melees have to work so hard to be within that 4 meters to use nearly any ability, ranged classes should have to work equally hard to use their abilities from at least an equal or greater gap.
  15. Very well said. It would be FAR better to have a system similar to Dark Age of Camelot where you earned Realm Points and purchased skills, buffs and abilities for the CHARACTER, not the gear. Then those that were skilled and pvp'd a long time would have their advantage that they want without it being tied to gear at all. However, a really skilled RR4 could take on a RR7 and have a shot, based on skill...not gear. DAOC also had bracketed battlegrounds: Level Groups L20 - 24 L25 - 29 L30 - 35 L36 - 39 L40 - 44 L45 - 49 There was no such thing as a buff needed to simulate ballpark equality, it was unnecessary.
  16. This ^^ Make the pvp gear flashy and unique looking with good stats, but nothing over the top stupid. (Completely scrap all Marauder gear too while you're at it BW, it's ugly as sin, all sets exactly the same with different bad textures, then remake it...but I digress) It would be FAR better to have a system similar to Dark Age of Camelot where you earned Realm Points and purchased skills, buffs and abilities for the CHARACTER, not the gear. Then those that were skilled and pvp'd a long time would have their advantage that they want without it being tied to gear at all. 17. Actually, you're mistaken. I did *not* turn her to the dark side and I did *not* say she should stick to the morals instilled in her by the Jedi. None of this happened. Not even close. She is my apprentice, that's what she signed up for, she is not a Jedi. She has nothing to do with the Jedi. I did say we would change the Empire from within, the rest of what you've said is wrong and didn't happen.
  18. Thanks for the info. I'm nowhere near that affection so I wouldn't know yet.
  19. I'm just updating here in case it hasn't been mentioned, that with Kira Carsen, the Jedi Knight exact counterpart to Jaesa Willsaam, she had all these same bugs but has already been patched according to the patch notes. I'm guessing Bioware was unaware that Jaesa indeed has all the same problems that Kira Carsen had. 1. Not romance-able for light side. 2. Not properly giving affection either positive or negative. Even on the odd occasion when she is not with me (I have Quinn) it will show both Quinn and Jaesa giving affection but her's doesn't "stick". The only points I've gotten for her that stuck were buying her gifts. 3. Light side but still only spouting dark side commentary in battle. These were ALL problems that players have had with Kira Carsen but that have supposedly been patched and fixed.
  20. /sniff I miss my Berserker, in all his superhamsterness (My marauder has the same name as my berserker, of course...I just imagine I'm using lightsaber ..er..axes)
  21. I've been going back and forth on the expertise issue, and from a standpoint that as an alt-a-holic, I don't have any 50s yet. At first I hated it, then in comparison with the high end Rakatta raid gear I thought it might be needed (so pvp dabblers with full raid gear don't come in and clean the floor because of their gear) and now I'm back to thinking it just needs to go. There needs to be two equally viable paths to great gear, both pvp and pve. Like AoC did originally when gear only made up 25% of your stats/buffs/defenses (until they caved and it's now 50%, but still less than every other mmo). Equalize gear, make busting your butt to get Battlemaster gear give you an equivalent reward to someone who raids enough to get Rakatta gear, don't make needing Tier 1 gear a requirement just to get Tier 2 gear (like Rift and now AoC have done, horribly hurting people not in guilds who raid). DAOC was the pvp/rvr king in my opinion. Still is. You got Realm Points with which you purchased Realm Abilities that buffed your character, NOT your gear. Each class had so many viable choices in Realm Abilities and never enough points to afford them all, so it wasn't cookie cutter (although some few skills were considered must haves by most players, but not all, ie Master of blocking 5 for a tank, ignore pain, etc) Everybody's gear was equivalent (roughly, if you went out and got it, but it was stat capped and just looked cool. The different stats mattered no where near like it does now), but a realm rank 8 was going to take apart a realm rank 2 "most" of the time. Not to mention that in DAOC their battlegrounds (= warzones) were bracketed 20-24, 25-29, 31-35, 36-39, 40-44, 45-49. There were locks on how high a realm rank a given tier could have, like RR4 for 36-39. This was straight up fair. (Did TOA, hated TOA, not counting TOA armor and weapons in this discussion. When the classic servers came out, my entire guild moved to them) RIFT has level tiered battlegrounds too. Being at the lowest level of a given zone stunk when you first join it, but like warzones here, they're extremely fast paced so it's never that bad. Bioware could break up our levels here into brackets, still apply a modified bolster buff system to each bracket to normalize things (because of the very quickly diminishing returns and not being able to touch 5+ level difference) and it would all be fair. Dump Expertise completely. And while they're at it, dump those stupid looking Marauder armor sets with the big ******* horns coming off the shoulders. Just sayin' Then let skill determine the winner, not gear or some phantom pvp stat that most people don't have or don't have enough. (Color was used in this post to illustrate important points, not to annoy /salute)
  22. LOL roger that /signed Airborne infantry veteran w/CIB, EIB, etc Now I "pvp" on my computer in my house instead of from a C-130 in another country.
  23. I support your support of his support of me getting a buff, too.
  24. Absolutely outstanding response. Seriously, bravo.
