Great post OP. The only thing I'd add in: mouseover casting please, or at least the ability to do so. Mouseover healing is an absolute necessity! -
Is trying to level with a heal spec a bad idea?

This is one of the few games where leveling as a healer is totally doable. Combat Medic + M1-4X tank companion + Cybertech = great leveling. -

Saying "he still sucked" isn't helpful for the discussion. What does that mean exactly? How were you using him? What is your spec? What companion do you use instead in light of the previous questions?

Yeah, this is my plan when I get him in a few levels. I took Cybertech for this very reason, knowing I was leveling as a CM.

Would you still make that suggestion to CM's? We're Commandos too!
