  1. 🤦‍♂️That was it. Thanks.
  2. Playing through Dromund Kaas I noticed there are at least 3 quests that are no longer available. Or should I say the NPCs that provide these quests are not providing them. For example for Secret Kinds of Darkness I approach Lord Pharsol and he just tells me "It not yet time for us to speak" or something along those lines. Currently I am playing through Sith Warrior story, scaled down as I was level 20-25 if that helps. Secret Kinds of Darkness Black Science Unauthorized Transmission Thanks
  3. I love how people keep saying, "adapt", or just do this or that. These replies completely miss the OPs point of "playing how you want." Which IMO was the best part about this game. From ability selections, to conquest, to rewards it all had the same philosophy. In other words, play the game and have fun. And for the 5.0 and 6.0 expansions I did just that. With 7.0 all I do now is watch the forums hoping the devs will come to their senses and fix this mess. That and whine to my fellow guildies that this game is no longer fun and I miss it.
  4. The gearing system is so confusing, that I couldn't even follow this post. But even if I can't wrap my head around the system something tells me that just renaming the currencies and putting mats on a vendor isn't going to save this system.
  5. Is it though. They just did a major reworking of Uprisings not that long ago and my experience says most player don't play these. So It begs to reason that you're correct, that they saw the numbers, and wondered how to make the other content more attractive. Just another perspective to think about. Only BW knows the truth.
  6. I think that you miss the point of those posts. The issue is that they took things AWAY. Most solo/casual posts I see in the forums it's always the same complaint. Let us ALL play the way we want. We USE to have that. It doesn't delve into a pissing match until someone chimes in with either you don't need X to do the story, or some stupid "get good" type of post, which completely misses the argument. Personally, I don't see a problem with putting certain rewards behind PVP, OPs, whatever. It's always been like that. You can't get certain decorations, achievements without doing them. Gear is a bit different. Sometime even us Solo/Casual players like to run MM FPs or even harder OPs from time to time. But that doesn't mean we should have to grind such content in order to play such content. As a side note I always laugh at how stupid the gearing system is every time I type that out. Try it yourself. "In order to get the gear to be able to do the content, you have to do that same content first" See it's pretty funny. Finally about the issue with KOTFE that you keep touting. To me it isn't the fact that they went all in with story that was the problem. It's that they completely changed the style of the story telling. The truth is KOTFE wasn't a game it was a movie, which catches you off guard the first time you hit it. I remember being bored out of my mind running through it. Not to mention that running sections with a friend was virtually impossible, at the very least very confusing. I appreciate KOTFE more now because I know what I'm getting into, but I can see why it wasn't well received to some.
  7. Well I must be an outlier then, because the story is exactly why I sub. That doesn't mean I don't enjoy the occasional small group FP or Uprising, but they are most certainly not why I here. But I can tell you this, PVP is also not where the money comes from either. The PVP instances are so dead that I end up doing my dailies and quests there so I'm not fighting anyone for resources. How about those forced PVP zones in the open world? Anytime I see people in there, they completely avoid each other, staying on opposite ends of the map, it funny really.
  8. Anyone know why the bonus planetary quests are on a reset timer? Some of these are long quest lines and it's really frustrating to have to keep starting them over because I don't complete them in time. And while were at it, why are heroics on a daily timer too? Ever since the "expansion" I login with a plan to complete some quests and advance the story only to find that one of them has reset and I have to start all over. I find it very frustrating and demotivating. All I do after that is logout, having lost the motivation to complete that quest.
  9. I love uprisings. Especially MM uprisings. I like that they are a little harder then FPs. I don't like OPs but smaller group content is fun. Smaller group content with a challenge is even better.
  10. Just thinking out loud here, but if I have to do NIM Ops to get the gear, then clearly one doesn't need the best gear to do them either. Oh but I hear the argument now, "but you do need the gear to do NIM Ops," right? Well if that's true then one would never be able to do them at all since it's all gated behind the very content you need them for. Point is, saying one does or doesn't need the gear, is a silly argument to make given how the system is now. Since it's clear none of us NEED the gear to do the content we like to play.
  11. The best thing about 7.0 is it's brought life back to the forums. I've spent more time in here waiting for this disaster to be fixed then I have running the 30 min of content. There's more content in a complaint post then what was added to the game. That said, load outs are nice, but they are a little late. I now have alts for each spec so I don't get much out of this. If this would have been here years ago, I'd probably be more excited about them. Still better late then never. Leveling with all the xp boosts seems to flow a bit better. As a new user I remember being confused by the amount of abilities that were thrown at me as quick as they were. They now seem to be better. For the free to play, the abilities might come in a bit too slow.
  12. My wife and I were talking about how this completely felt like a WOW update. From over complicated gearing systems to ignoring the testers, and finally *some* rollbacks. Ironic that they're getting the same results as Blizzard isn't it?
  13. The companions are dismissed. The area in the UI which would normally show an empty placeholder is just gone too along with your companion. I did notice that this does happen on the Exchange costume boxes, though I don't even know why these are now clickable. So the mystery of one type of disappearance has been solved, but the random dismissal is still strange. Could also be related to the costume boxes, perhaps when the costume goes away? I guess that's possible.
  14. That's what I think the devs thought too. But for those of us who don't like OPs and find them boring, it just one more thing that drives us out of the game. This is where 6.0 IMO and for my style of playing, really shined. I got to play the way I wanted. In 6.0 I still did MM FPs and Uprisings and the occasional harder OP when my guildies needed me to fill in. But now, not only will I not be doing OPs, but I won't be playing again until this is fixed. So for me at least it was a lose/lose. A loss for me as I really did enjoy the game, and loss for Bioware as they won't be getting anymore money from me either.
  15. Leveling up a new character and I decide to run all the missions including the exploration missions. One think I noticed is that some the exploration missions need to be balanced. Most of them feel as hard as heroics, which isn't horrible but they definitely don't feel like the same level as the planetary missions or the story missions. Another odd thing I noticed was that from time to time my companion just disappears, as though he's been dismissed. It takes a little while to notice (mainly because I'm dying and trying to figure out why) so it's hard to pin down exactly when and why it's happening. I first thought it was when I clicked on the Exchange costume boxes now all over the place, but it happened again just in the open world, for no reason I can think of. I know that this doesn't help to really track down this problem, just thought I'd alert people that it was happening.
  16. I thought this was the case initially too. However, going back through the forums this is absolutely not the case. Sure there were some complaints, but overall the reaction to the changes was positive. These 7.0 changes on the other hand are completely inverted. Most comments negative with a minority positive. The only change they are making that was met with mostly positive reactions is the class styles and load outs. Take a look through the forums yourself and you'll see exactly what I'm talking about.
  17. When I first saw the new ability tree my first question was "Who would actually pick Mad Dash given these choices?" Shortly after, they announced the new tagging system, and just like that Mad Dash became the most useful ability in the tree.
  18. I don't do OPs simply because they're just not fun. All the fights are known, all the puzzles solved. That means that Ops for me are nothing but mindless button mashers. Personally the best content ATM for me is the harder mode Uprisings, simply because there's just no guides for them. That leaves the group on their own to figure them out. They are very challenging and take many attempts to get through. Perhaps the issue for me IS "risk" but that's probably not the right word. While I probably fall into the category they are talking about simply gating gear isn't really the solution. Randomizing boss fights, puzzles etc so that guides become less useful and the groups really need to work together to solve them would be a better approach. All that gating gear does for me is annoy me. I'm not gonna do OPs in their current form just to get gear. But I would sill LIKE a path to get the best gear.
  19. Thanks for the post. Just curious on what your thoughts might be on how this translates to more casual players and possible issues getting through the story? As conquest is going up, renown is going away and RNG will be a thing of the past, makes me wonder if this game will still be casual friendly. I know that right now on live you can easily out level an area but even with our overly generous gearing system you still become under geared. I'm wondering if this is going to be a bigger issue now or if you think the new system would work for them as well. Thanks again
  20. That chart, while impressive, doesn't really hold up and I'm not sure why I keep reading excuses for Biowear on this topic all the time. This is not an indie title. If it were an indie title, then maybe I'd give them a pass. So the amount of voice actors needed doesn't seem like it should be an issue at all. While I can understand having some difficulties getting the same actors to keep coming back year after year, they could always put someone else in their place. It wouldn't be the first time we've seen other voice actors play existing roles... while they're not perfect voice matches, one can generally get over it. It's not like Daffy Duck is still voiced by Mel Blanc for instance. OP - One thing I would add to this conversation is that companions have been coming back little by little. So there's always hope we get to see more of them in the next expansion. So keep your dream alive and don't let these naysayers get ya down.
  21. This post makes no sense to me. If you're only playing solo content there's no need to min/max. The game is stupidly easy if all you're doing is solo content using the gear you pick up along the way. As for mods, you don't even need them till post level 75 anyway. And even then you don't need them. In addition once you hit level 75 you'll get loot boxes instead of levels as you work on your renown. The loot boxes and item drops scale up as your item level increases. I'd say before you make up your mind you should keep playing through the expansions and then come back and let us know if you even needed the mods. With all my lvl 75 toons, I've never needed them to complete the story lines. Finally buying mods from vendors or GTN is not the way level these up. Instead you can simply take out the mods from the items that drop. Vendor and GTN buying would get way too expensive. Hope to see you around the galaxy.
  22. That's actually a good recap stoopicus. But another issue that we had is your toon not really being apart of the story. In KOTFE most of the cut scenes you were watching events that you were not apart of. While I love some of Vaylin's one liners, my toon was not there to witness them, so it takes away from the immersion. They did much better in Onslaught but the latest content drop we got more of this watching someone else's story rather then your own, so I'm a little worried about the upcoming story changes. It's kinda of sad when they do that too. KOTFE and KOTET seem to be ranked the worst by most reviewers I've seen, but there was a lot of great content that came to the game outside of the story. Which I think go unnoticed simply because of the story issues. Guess that just goes to show how important the story telling is to this game. I know that what I play the game for anyway.
  23. Sign me up. I need to learn how to keep from getting blown out of the sky.
  24. My thoughts are this. 1) My character shouldn't see cut scenes they are not part of. All the characters have some kind of history with and that could have been used instead. Onslaughts been pretty good up to now about not doing this, unlike some of the other expansions. It really kills the immersion factor when you're seeing stories that don't belong to you. Or at least have SOME kind of explanation why you're in someone else's mind. Better yet handle these things like they did when you show up early to the meeting right after. 2) They need to pick different music for the FP. It's too slow and feels like you've muted the game and your parter watching a romance movie in the same room. In other words the music does not fit what is going on in the FP at all. If it wasn't for those two things, it would have been a pretty good release. The story from a third persons perspective is worrisome, but hopefully just a fluke for this expansion.
  25. Be as social or asocial as you please. Choose complete silence when online in days/weeks/months requiring it. Do so without having to wonder if people you are guilded with consider your sudden silence as some strange anomaly - That stuff is business as usual for many of us. We consider it important that all of our members will always know they can be as active or inactive as they feel like. As busy or lazy as RL and nature dictates. As loud or silent as feels right. Grinning Nebula has a history of welcoming those who want to be sure their guild gives them the freedom to mind their own business when that is required. Wanna spend your time online just prowling around as a lone wolf when in-game? Many here are just like you. A Notable portion of us might be lone wolves above all else, but that doesn't mean guildies would never do group content or events. - We do! In increasing amounts, actually. However, it is vital for us that those in guild who skip every single guild event and never join groups get to feel the guild is a home built with them in mind just as well. Over the last two years, we've accidentally developed a pretty social flip-side, which includes stuff such as various guild events, Joint Ops group together with Gray Moon, more GSF than anyone should ever do, etc etc. And, again, every single member in guild knows they can skip all of this stuff if they wish. Imp and Rep versions of Nebula both reach high yield conquest target with ease atm. That remains our only real ambition when it comes to Conquest - we'll never sacrifice guild atmosphere or extremely relaxed inactivity rules in pursue of top-10 spots or such. Spend 52 weeks a year earning 0 conquest and nobody will mind. Nobody who truly wants to stick around will ever be removed for inactivity. Imp side guild currently does high yield conquest. We will never sacrifice the guild's core values on such an altar though. - Our members won't be removed just for spending a few months AFK or anything like that. The Guild is present and active on Imp and Rep side both. Both guilds have fully unlocked ship+SH,all perk slots in constant use and all of the rest of the usual amenities. Imp side guild is lvl 300+ now, Rep side around 210. Link to our site at Swtorcommunity
