  1. Popping in to say I'm also affected by this bug. Creating a ticket now.
  2. Figured throw up my not-very-important-personal-choice. I'm sticking with things for a while yet to come. Why? Well, the easy answer is "It's Star Wars," but I've not bought plenty of Star Wars games due to them being pretty crappy. I don't think this MMO is pretty crappy. Do I agree with every direction they went with? No. Do I think they can add more to the game and evolve it over time to, in the end, be bigger and better than it is now? Most certainly yes. I played City of Heroes (CoH) for seven years, starting three months into its release. I saw some amazing things happen with that game, and some not so amazing. Right before it went F2P, it had evolved into a very robust MMO, with tons of awesome features. I've watched EVE Online evolve over the years into another amazing MMO, even with its growing pains. WoW, also, grew and evolved, though I have to admit I never much cared for it enough to really pay attention. Anyhoo, the rambling point is that SWTOR is easily worth my sub and I'm really looking forward to seeing how this development team will evolve the game. Will they always make good or understandable decisions? Probably not, but then again who does? I'm here until I don't want to be, much like the rest of humanity.
  3. Logged in just to say how great this video is. Fabulous job.
  4. I quite enjoyed that. In regards to the whole Obi-Padme thing, the way he tells it it's barely budding by the end of the movie. With her move to the Senate and him taking over Anakin's training, ain't no time for lovin'. Instead, they become fast friends and Anakin gets his window.
  5. I rather like the whole balancing act; extremes are naturally destructive. Though the Jedi generally do OK, they're prone to blindness and immobility, philosophically speaking. The Sith don't have to be evil, but when you're ruled by your emotions, you tend to be a dick about things. If you read 'Tales of the Jedi' you see that many Jedi had relationships and family. The same is true for the 'Legacy' series, that takes place over 100 years ABY (After the Battle of Yavin). Attempting to go the way of Vulcans (if you'll forgive the crossover comparison), will only get you so far; at least Spock was allowed to get it on.
  6. How much money a product makes is not an indication of its quality. There were over a million pet rocks sold.
  7. I stuck through seven years of City of Heroes and the evolution of that game was nothing short of amazing. SWTOR is off to a much stronger start; if the Devs work half as hard as the CoH Devs did, we're good to go for years to come. I'm in it for the long haul.
  8. Like many have stated, you wrote up a great review, OP. Certainly a pleasure to read and a pleasure to bump.
  9. That's a really great article, well written and funny. Thank you for the share.
  10. Winter Park, checking in. We actually have a rather large group of our community here in Florida. Makes for easy and fun get togethers. I posted this in another thread, but it really bears repeating. Orlando in 2012 will be hosting another Star Wars Celebration convention! http://www.starwarscelebration.com/
  11. There are some wonderful posts in here; definitely a group that realizes the importance of respecting the emotional connection and communication between two people in a loving, committed relationship. Also love that there are many posts from wives that game! I figured Star Wars would pull them out of the woodwork and it's wonderful for the whole community. For myself, I'm engaged to my best friend, who've I've known for 10 years and have been in a committed relationship with for seven. She isn't a gamer, thinks it's a bit silly, but certainly respects my choice of recreation. She worries when I stay up until 3:00am playing, but that's to be expected (I only do that on the weekends). The most important thing is balance. It's been said in here already, but really, when you know they will be home soon, you don't get involved in anything like a Raid or Flashpoint. Spending time with them is key. Now, if I've got my time slated for gaming and she walks in the door at the start of it, I'll say hello, make sure she's doing OK, then pop back in. If she needs me though, I'm there for her, regardless of what I'm doing. She does the exact same for me. That's love.
  12. 34 years-old and from Central Florida. Where, I must add, the next Star Wars Celebration convention will be! http://www.starwarscelebration.com/
  13. With the gargantuan size of the Star Wars community in general, not too mention all the people who just like to play MMOs, having server forums is a must.
  14. That was the quote I just quoted. Though it's not about removing, just scaling back a lot.
  15. They do plan to scale this back after launch. Here's an old quote from Georg Zoeller on this very subject: Preserved on TORWARS: http://torwars.com/2011/09/09/zoeller-on-launch-day-world-instancing-dealing-with-gankers/
