Huh, I am totally going to try using that now. In all the other MMOs I've played, I have done well just tabbing and clicking. However, for whatever reason(s) I seem to have trouble with that in swtor. Especially clicking on things with a ton of action going on in the screen.

Even at 50 I'll use Soresu in Vigilence spec. PvE wise, you might hit a slight bump in the few levels just before getting Doc. Once you get Doc though, you should be fine in PvE. I personally leveled with Defense spec because I knew I wanted to use Kira the whole way through, and I went Biochem so I knew I would have plenty of healing and buffs taken care of. I can't comment on pre-50 PvP though. I stayed away from PvP until I hit cap, which looking back was probably a bad idea starting out my PvP experience against people with full PvP already lol.

I didnt even fight. I was backing up to use my Force Jump, and the cut to the scene after defeating the Emperor, even though I never swung my lightsaber once....

I forgot I had it as I was leveling. However, for PvP, I use it all the time.

As a defense-spec'd Guardian, I use Kira for the DPS. Currently level 48 and used Kira the whole way through. When I used a DPS spec I went with Doc. This is all assuming you have your companions with similar leveled gear.

I am defense spec'd (lvl 47 right now) and I have used Kira throughout the entire game without too much issue. If you are more DPS spec'd T7 or Doc might be the way to go.

I too kept the top from Tython which I use when for conversation when I can lol. This whole hood thing really perplexes me how it made it to retail without being addressed.

I went Artifice with my first Guardian, it was okay. I liked having the color crystals and everything. However, when I rerolled I went with Biochem. Definitely prefer it over Artifice. Having a full supply of med-packs, med-units, and adrenals, and stims is very useful.

What spec are you in, and which companions do you use? Try sending in your companion first to let the mobs beat up on him/her/it and then draw them to you when your companions health gets low, if it gets that far. I prefer to use Kira over all the others, so I found switching from my Vigilance to Defense spec really helped. Once you hit Balmorra you get a healer companion so that will help too.

Actual Darth Angral fight I only died once. I believe I was level 32. However, I kept dying before that on the Elite mob, I think it was like a Colonel something or other. If i didn't outright die, I would be knocked back into the bottomless pit and die. Think I was there for like 5 deaths when he knocked me into the pit and I repawned further up in the map lol
