  1. Bumping back to page 1 (from page 9!)
  2. In retrospect, perhaps I should have taken slicing. But as I am a Cybertech, I took Salvaging for my main crafting mats and Underworld Trading for Underworld Metal. Seems logical, no?
  3. ...even though you can get Luxury Fabric from Undeworld Trading as well, it doesn't show up under that category. Apologies if this is known but I just discovered it tonight.
  4. Why would you be mad? You got your stuff before the nerf.
  5. The problem is that people like me (Cybertech/Salvaging/Underworld Trading) go through a ton of credits just to gather enough ingredients to make something just to Reverse Engineer it for the chance of a better schematic. It usually takes several creations being Reverse Engineered before you learn the purple schematic. Also, getting the rare purple mat from the Underworld Trading missions is extremely rare. Yes, I can ultimately make something that might fetch a nice sum on the GTN, but will it be enough to cover the cost of making that item? In my experience, no it didn't. And now, like someone else pointed out, people will be more frugal with their credits so my items will be even less likely to sell for the price I would need to make a profit. That is why I thought a better solution would have been to add a vendor trash bonus item to the rich/bountiful gathering missions so that those losses could be offset instead of nerfing slicing into oblivion.
  6. I have Cybertech/Salvaging/Underworld Trading and I can do gather missions for every single ingredient I need to make things. Even the ingredient that I can buy at the Crew Skills Vendor is something I can do a gather mission for if I want. What mats does your craft need that you HAVE to buy?
  7. My husband has slicing and so far today he is still making money on the Bountiful and Rich missions but not as much as before. Still possible to make money in slicing, people. Not to mention the slicable lockboxes found laying around in the world.
  8. Even so, without slicing as one of your crew skills, crafting is a huge money sink. It would be nice for some offset. (I do not have slicing on my toon - Cybertech/Salvaging/Underworld Trading is what I have).
  9. Why couldn't they have just added a vendor trash item (or items, depending upon yield level) to the other gathering crew skill mission results?
  10. Well this is partially untrue. Slicing does have augment missions and there are items that Cybertech and Biochem make that have Augment slots. As far as I know, this is the only way to get those Augments. My idea of how they should have balanced things is to add some sort of bonus vendor trash item to the other gathering crew skill mission results.
  11. What would have been more appropriate in my opinion is to balance up the other "gathering" crew skills. Maybe add a bonus item in the mission results that you can sell to vendors that is worth something. No one wants to just sell their resources if they are leveling up a craft.
  12. Well let me put it this way, it's much more common to find earpieces and implants with augment slots than it is in other items. The reason for that is because armor and weapons that are moddable have other improvement slots (hilt, barrel, mod, enhancement, armoring) whereas earpieces and implants only have augment slots as far as I have seen.
  13. I see a lot of people asking where Augments go. This is just an FYI. I think Biochems make Implants and Cybertech make the earpieces.
  14. Earpieces and Implants. If they have a slot, that is.
  15. If you are referring to the Mission Discovery missions then you can only run them once. They usually result in an extremely nice assortment of goods.
  16. Don't augments go into moddable earpieces (made by Cybertech) and Implants?
  17. Ok thank you! I suspected that the ship droid could not have his affection raised but I wanted to be sure. It appears that a Bounty Hunter never gets a droid companion (other than the ship droid).
  18. When a node is harvested, it does remain for a short time but it quickly despawns. However, I experienced the bug the OP is referring to in the beta and a few times since launch. These nodes are not recently harvested because they persist in the world (they don't despawn). They appear on the minimap as resource nodes and you can see them laying there on the ground but you can't click on them or get any tooltip info when the cursor is hovering over them.
  19. I was under the impression that certain GTNs were cross-faction (Nar Shadda, for instance).
  20. While I doubt it was done intentionally, the Galactic Trade Network interface could use some improvements. -Further sorting capabilities (i.e. when searching for armor pieces, let us specify the slot we are looking for) -The ability to type in the name of the item we are searching for and bypass sorting altogether -The "usable by" sort list should include classes in case you are searching for something for an alt I am sure others could add things to this list.
  21. Can anyone tell me what they have given their droid that actually raises affection? I have tried luxury, technology, and weapon so far with no results.
  22. So I was reading that the affection level of your companions affects how quickly and successfully they fulfill their crew skill missions and some people mentioned raising their droid's affection. I tried summoning my ship droid and giving him a droid diagnostic tool (technology) companion gift but just got a big +0 affection. What am I missing? Or is there another droid other than the ship droid people are referring to?
  23. Try doing lower tier missions and look for Rich or Bountiful yield missions.
  24. Well, I am a Cybertech so I can make my own armoring and mods. I would hope someone wouldn't think me a jerk for rolling on something with Strength/Endurance if I was planning to remod it with Aim.
  25. I wouldn't call him a d bag... in this game, orange named gear can be modded to suit your class, as long as you have the armor proficiency to use it... now if it had been a light armor wearer rolling on heavy gear - that is a different story.
