  1. So give me some data then. Pick a NiM fight and give me the DPS requirement. Then give me the theoretical max DPS of Lightning and Marksmanship.
  2. I'm not trying to prove anything, I'm asking you to prove that a raid consisting of low dps specs can't complete all content. And you can't prove that because you've never tried it. And the only math you've provided are hypothetical situations and DPS meters.
  3. So buff the low dps specs back to their target dps then if needed, rebalance the encounters to account for that. The low dps specs are still going to be the low dps specs. And raiders will still drop them for higher dps specs regardless of the low dps spec's ability to clear content.
  4. Yes that's what I said in the post you quoted.
  5. You need to work on your argument dodging.
  6. Obviously the word "fill" means to fill your raid with low dps specs. Which you've never done so you can't say for sure whether those low dps specs will fail the DPS checks or not. If you're not taking specs that can clear the content, that's your fault for excluding them, not Bioware's.
  7. Nothing is yet set in stone for 5.3. And the lowest DPS class is still fine if it can clear content. Remember that DPS is balanced on other inherent advantages or disadvantages a spec may have, as defined in the OP. One would assume those advantages or disadvantages will make up for the discrepancy in DPS. Higher DPS specs will have higher DPS because for various reasons it's mechanically harder to reach it's top DPS. In that case higher DPS is a reward for playing a harder class and not strictly a requirement for the encounter. Lightning may or may not be able to clear all content at NiM level right now, and if it cant then 5.3 should fix that. It will still be one of the lower DPS specs in the game due to it's other inherent advantages. Now, just follow me on this line of logic. Bioware balances the DPS of specs around various pros and cons of said specs, as defined in the OP. They assign DPS targets to those specs according to those various pros and cons. These DPS targets are averages, so one can assume there is a upper and lower range around that average that would account for variables like gear and skill. Gear is a factor in what content the class can complete. The lower the gear level, the easier the content the class can expect to complete, and vice versa for higher gear levels. Skill is a factor when gauging how much DPS the player can get out of the class despite it's pros and cons, regardless of gear. These two factors make up the upper and lower limits surrounding Bioware's DPS targets for each class. PvE content can then be balanced around these upper and lower limits. Easier content is for the lower range, harder content is for the higher range. NiM content will be balanced around a certain point in the upper range, when skill and gear level is at it's highest. To make sure that all specs will be able to clear NiM content, said content will have to balanced somewhere lower than the upper limit of the lowest DPS specs. Higher DPS specs will have more than enough DPS to clear NiM content at the expense of being mechanically harder to play.
  8. Nerfs are to balance overpowered classes. Buffs are to balance underpowered classes. Balance.
  9. If Arsenal is doing too much damage than it should be nerfed. Buffing everyone else up to Arsenal's already overly high DPS makes PvE too easy. It's also easier to nerf one class than to buff seven classes.
  10. The post you quoted was directed at the raider, not at anyone else. My position is that any spec of any class should be able to clear any content without raiders telling them to go away because Lightning DPS doesn't match Annihilation DPS.
  11. You don't know that. That arbitrary metric just may well be what they design encounters around. As I've said before in this thread, either the lowest DPS specs can clear all content or Bioware is deliberately designing content that excludes all but the highest DPS specs. Nowhere in the OP is it mentioned that their design philosophy is something they just cooked up recently, so it's safe to assume they've been balancing class DPS this way since beta, and before they started designing the latest content. And just like class DPS can be re-balanced, so can PvE encounters.
  12. 4 meter melee range and passive speed boosts for melee classes. Makes kiting pointless. CC on 1 minute cooldown. Gives me no defense against multiple players. Every class getting a generic 4 second stun. Also gives me no defense against multiple players. Too many XP boosts makes leveling too easy and unengaging. The current crafting system restricting my options on what stats I can RE for, as opposed to the original crafting system. Other than that (and that one other thing I've wanted since patch 1.2.) this game is great.
  13. If you have a choice between a class that can do 1 million damage and a class that can do 1.1 million damage in the same amount of time, which class will you pick? Answer: the class that will do 1.1 million damage. Doesn't matter at all to you if the lower damage class can do what is required, you want to be on the top of the DPS meter.
  14. That's more a problem with the format of arenas than class balance. Until Bioware starts implementing viable CC, Arenas will always be about focusing the weakest class in the group. Which is why balancing PvP around arenas in their current state is a dumb idea that only leads to classes getting ridiculous survivability buffs ie. Mercs.
  15. And just how many times have you filled a raid with low dps classes and failed to beat enrage timers? Stop shoving your meters down my throat. Your meters only measure personal performance. They've got nothing to do with a spec's ability to clear content.
  16. How many times do I have to say it. Comparing a low DPS spec to a high DPS spec says absolutely nothing about the low DPS spec's ability to clear content. The ability for a spec to clear content is the only thing that matters. How high your DPS is is just satisfying your ego.
  17. You're only assuming that Sorcs cant meet the DPS requirement. Either Sorcs can meet the DPS requirement or Bioware is deliberately designing encounters that exclude all but the highest DPS specs. Skill has nothing to do with it.
  18. If the force user could cheat they wouldn't have an excuse to keep doing something they obviously find boring.
  19. Right so you didn't read my post at all.
  20. Where am I wrong? Do you have a rebuttal for my post or are you just trolling?
  21. I'm glad you survived all those losses. I was sure worried for a moment.
  22. If Lightning can clear all content, it's DPS is fine. It's that simple. It's supposed to be hard for Lightning to reach those DPS checks because it's DPS is balanced around it's other inherent advantages. Sounds like you just want the encounter to be easier by using higher DPS specs. NiM content is supposed to be for those exceptional players. That's a problem with egotistical raiders, not balancing.
  23. It's ok, balancing PvE before PvP isn't going to kill you.
