  1. I'm looking forward to seeing SWTOR's version of Dantooine. Not sure about it being an event (limited access?) and another war-torn planet (have lots of those already, don't we?). I wouldn't expect it to be purple. It will probably look like KOTOR 1 & 2, only beat to hell with mortar damage all over the place... Would be an appropriate place for Zenith to come back... but who cares about him? Not sure about Kira and Scourge... it probably depends on what kind of story will come with this. I think they said they wanted to give Kira and Scourge extra attention and if it's an event it will most likely be limited access, so they might not fit in here. It would be cool if they did come back, though. This is certainly not what I expected when they said they were releasing a new event. Hopefully it will be good.
  2. This bug is really annoying. Was just looking for the thread to bump it. I can't believe people aren't making a bigger deal about it, since so many people play melee classes in this game...
  3. This issue needs to be fixed sooner than super soon. When people return to the game and their companion just stands 50 feet behind them and lets them die it doesn't make a good impression. Not to mention how frustrating it is for people running dailies, heroics or chapters where you can't change companion. Fast track that ish. Please.
  4. Please. For the love of (insert deity here), fix this.
  5. I think you, Eric, as a community manager do a fine job communicating with the players through the forum... way better than some other MMOs I've played. That being said, if you're looking for a way to improve the feedback process I would recommend looking at your customer service department. Whenever I ask them for help I have to create multiple tickets (because they close them after each response, whether the issue was resolved or not) and repeatedly explain my problem to them. And after that song and dance they usually say they can't help, and that I should post my problem on the forum (which will only be responded to if other people are having the same issue) or create a bug report (which will also not likely be responded to). For a subscriber to be put through that every time I have an issue is incredibly frustrating. Some questions I would ask: Do they play SWTOR? Customer service experience is good, but if they barely understand how the systems in game work, how are they supposed to understand our problems or help us? Are they actually taking the time to read tickets before issuing blanket responses and closing them? From the responses I've received, I don't think they do. Had one dude tell me to reset the mission when I didn't receive conquest rewards.... How am I supposed to reset conquest?!? Are they awake? These guys are operating out of New Delhi, India on our daylight hours. Are they rested when they come in, or are they taking naps in between service calls? If I was half-asleep, answering irate trouble tickets from foreigners in their language in the middle of the night I wonder how effective I might be. Do they communicate with people working on the game? If I'm having an issue with a mission reward can they pick up the phone and ask the person who manages the mission what is going on or are they discouraged from doing that? I had to beg someone over the phone the other evening to look up my tickets. It took me over 20 minutes to convince him to do it. That's terrible. Customer service should be going out of their way to help subscribers, and do whatever it takes to solve our problems. Forcing us to repeatedly create tickets, and redirecting us to bug reports and the forums wastes our time and makes us feel like you guys don't care. So if you're looking for a way to improve, right here - this ^.
  6. I have since pushed 6 more characters through Ossus (a gunslinger, sniper, guardian, juggernaut, vanguard and commando - they didn't skip anything) and had 3 issues: 1. Duplicate companions were created at the bottom for some class companions. While 5.10.1 got rid of duplicates on existing characters the patch did not prevent extras from being created for me. 2. Banished characters (Kaliyo, Jorgan) are back in the main characters tab and summonable. Dead/unavailable characters are where they should be. 3. Any character retrieved from the terminal (for me, Scorpio and Tanno Vik) were removed. Collecting items from the unavailable character and reacquiring them from the terminal seems to work just fine as a work-around. No companions are missing that should be present and no influence was reset.
  7. I have only pushed an assassin and sage through Ossus so far, and did this the day after 5.10 launched. I did not skip anything. My sage had no issues. Some duplicate companions at the bottom, but after 5.10.1 they are gone and I am left with the correct ones. My assassin had Aric Jorgan and Theron Shan reappear in the main companions list as summonable companions. As of 5.10.1 Theron is in the dead listing where he belongs, but Jorgan is still summonable even though I banished him after the gemini frequency mission. 5.10.1 also deleted duplicate companions at the bottom and left me with the correct ones. 5.10.1 also fixed Paxton Rall's alliance alert and combat dialogue (which was previously mixed up with Nadia Grell tracks). He also no longer repeats the "not my finest moment" line. He's a cool companion and I'm glad to finally have him (I waited till he was fixed to finish his alerts). I have heard that people who skipped over other content to begin Ossus are having tons of issues. I feel for you all. One thing, however, that is effecting everyone in the game and needs to be fixed fast is the problem with ranged companions not advancing on targets in combat. This effectively makes ranged companions useless (even the OP-broken Shae Visla) during heroics, daily areas, chapters, flashpoints... you know, all the stuff we use companions for. And while you are at it, please fix HK-51. Hunter-Killer droids should be at the top of the dps list, because that is literally THIER SOLE PURPOSE FOR EXISTING (particularly HK-51, who shares HK-47's programming).
  8. I've been pushing a light side gunslinger through KOTFE & KOTET while waiting for all these Ossus bugs to be fixed and I'm not sure how I feel about this bug. On the one hand, if you want (NEED) to have the complete experience it might be worth waiting for a fix. But on the other hand this hasn't felt like a story that was really written for smugglers, so maybe I should just push through and roll my eyes when I get there... like I do for all the other issues (things clipping, busted camera angles, incorrect character postures, out of character responses) left in this story that will likely never be addressed (because of player back-lash, and the hasty retreat from the chapter model and alliance commander story). I would like for there to be opportunity for smugglers and hunters to get back to the underworld realms, and away from this faction vs. faction regurgitation, in the next expansion... or one in the future. It would feel better playing a smuggler through a story written for a smuggler (if that makes any sense?). That's probably asking for too much from a MMO, I suppose, especially when the players eat you alive for trying to show them something besides static factions pummeling each other over the same stupid reasons. But I think back to the class stories - and they weren't perfect, but they were pretty good - and I think maybe, for this game at least, there's hope. I guess we'll have a good idea if there is this winter.
  9. It's bugged on my consular as well, which is funny because this set fits the consular class' look best... Guess I'll just toss it in storage for now.
  10. I have a Mirialan commando with beautiful bronze skin, and she looks great with most of her outfits, but when I switch her to a forest scout look her skin really stands out. So for her it would make sense to paint the visible areas of her face with camo for that outfit. How this could work is you either add a face paint slot to headpieces (probably more work) or add a slot to the outfit designer gear list, like where the relics normally are or something. This would give the players ways to alter make-up, camo, war-paint, etc. without having to actually change the character's permanent appearance. (This would also give you guys more junk to sell in the store.) While you are at it... add the option to have sith eyes on twileks. It's pretty annoying keeping mine at dark side 1 so she can have those eyes without looking like an electrocuted piece of dog****. Also add SoR Lana customization for her. I liked her old appearance. Thank you.
  11. No. They should realize that resetting the fight just because someone fell off is a bad and unnecessary mechanic. That's great that you enjoy it enough to defend it, but like I already said, it is frustrating for pick-up groups. Somebody always seems to fall off, which sets off a cascade of frustration and people quitting the group. I've seen it happen over, and over, and over again. I don't have trouble soloing the fight. I know where to stand. The issue comes up when you introduce impatient &/or inexperienced players. This is actually my favorite flashpoint, but I will leave group if it comes up in que because of the reset mechanic. It's just not worth dealing with.
  12. The issue is that this boss is too touchy and shouldn't reset just because a group member falls off. It's so bad (and has frustrated so many groups that I've been in) that if it comes up in a que I will leave the que. That's what the developers should be taking away from this one.
  13. Anyone else having freezes/extreme lag while loading into Hoth, Corellia or other big maps? I've reloged twice now for Hoth, turned off everything in the background and still can't get in...
  14. All the dailies (which I'm assuming includes Makeb) are supposedly going to be improved after United Forces launches, or at least that's what I remember reading in the latest roadmap. I'm sure the devs are well aware we want all heroics to be daily. I'm sure they've been told countless times. They're also planning to make changes to conquest. This was also mentioned in the road map. So no one should be freaking out right now about any of that, particularly in the middle of a massive server merge. The glisteny eyes do look dumb. I hope they get fixed, but if that is the biggest f@@@-up of this server merge, you can count yourselves very fortunate. I would recommend that while they fix the eye bug, they also make the sith eyes available to all races. Having to keep my twilek at dark side 1 to maintain her pretty sith eyes is a little inconvenient. But it's not the end of the world... Thanks for the CXP boost. I have only been playing a year and as the tiers increase, having that boost is more and more helpful. People who have been playing since beta probably don't care, but it was a good call for new players.
  15. lol, Who's Zayne Carrick? Is that a new companion? I can't even believe this was an issue. And how do you expect devs to protect you from trolls? The MMO community consists almost entirely of trolls. If they started sanctioning/banning people for being jerks, they would lose a ton of customers. As much as they might want to shield the special snowflakes, it's probably not feasible. They could restrict stronghold chat from the planets they're on, and maybe add features in chat for role-players, but that just sends parts of the community further into exile... which is counter the whole MMO spirit, right?
  16. I was just looking on the forum for this specifically. The train is really laggy for me (even at lowest graphics settings), so I can't really enjoy the FP or Stronghold, but I really liked the planet itself. You would think there would be plenty of reason to investigate that city in the distance to figure out the umbaran connection to the traitor, right? I hope we get to go there later (in a non-FP capacity, please). If the devs learned lessons from Iokath, Umbara could be a really nice daily area. Lots of people seem to like it... Hint: include quick travel points, map markers that match the rest of the game, heroic level content in heroic areas, reputation rewards that are not just cheesy gimmicks to keep players on the hamster wheel. We like decorations, costumes, mounts, pets, dyes, color crystal schematics and companion customizations - pretty much all that nice stuff you put in hyper crates. Saving up to control a remote for a chance at making some credits is not something I'm personally interested in doing. But I'm sure the devs have heard plenty about that.
  17. You want to romance Senya and Arcan? Might be a little awkward...
  18. The fix works on mac w/ wine. Thank you. (use the GitHub fix and leave bit raider on in the launcher.settings file if you aren't sure) I'm actually going to get to conquer a couple planets this week, yay!
  19. None of this is obvious to me. Thanks for posting something constructive. I wish more folks on this thread were doing the same. Bioware is trying to find a work around for those of us affected. I appreciate everyone who is actually trying to help them do that.
  20. I also tried the reddit fix (running on a mac through wine & xp bottle). I couldn't get it to work. It's been a few days, and the weekend is beginning, so an update/fix would be nice...
  21. There seems to be a lot of room for improvement with the launcher install/patch items. I run this game on a MacBook Pro, so I expect to have to do a work around or two to get the software to work through wine (because nobody designs for mac apparently) but even so, having to go into game files and rewrite code to get it to work is not ideal. I'm not a computer game designer. I don't know how this stuff works. I just log in and shoot stuff. But again, it seems odd that to install the game (which I've done 4-5 times since this bug emerged in a vain attempt to fix it) you have to download old launchers and game files. That junk could probably be streamlined, right? But yeah, MMO. Nothing will ever be fast enough or good enough. I was born in the wrong century. That being said, I really like how the devs communicate with players in this game (no bs - real answers and timetables). I'll be happy to continue playing once this issue is sorted.
