  1. Not sure, but mine mirrors exactly stat for stat what is in-game. You have to turn off all your in-game buffs and also have to turn off all buffs on Mr. Robot. Also, it took me a bit but I had to do all the switching out of my mods and enhancements too.
  2. Working on a second video! This time I'm actually in some Battlemaster gear, with a focus more on group/guild gameplay than solo. Thanks to everyone for your comments and criticism of my first video! It has helped me tremendously.
  3. Thank you so much! That is where my mistake came in and, obviously, Biochem is the route to go for hardcore PvP. I appreciate you taking the time for your quick responses. I'm sure this might help some others with their confusion as well. =)
  4. I think I might be confused. Take a look at these comparisons between Rakata and Exotech. Make sure to check out the links, maybe the information is outdated and I do not know about it. _________________________________________________ Rakata Resolve Stim +112 Willpower +46 Power Exotech Resolve Stim +128 Willpower +52 Power WINNER: Exotech Resolve Stim with +16 Willpower and +6 Power _________________________________________________ Rakata Fortitude Stim +112 Endurance +46 Defense Exotech Fortitude Stim +128 Endurance +52 Defense WINNER: Exotech Fortitude Stim with +16 Endurance and +6 Defense _________________________________________________ Rakata Attack Adrenal +475 Power for 15 seconds Exotech Attack Adrenal +535 Power for 15 seconds WINNER: Exotech Attack Adrenal with +60 Power for 15 seconds _________________________________________________ In terms of the min-maxing of Power you are speaking of, are the Exotech adrenals and stims not better than the Rakata in every way? Is there a bonus for being Biochem to your adrenals and stims that I just didn't know about? Everything every database I've seen says that Exotech is far superior to Rakata in every way except the fact that Rakata is reusable, saving you credits. (which in this case is not an object) So, technically speaking, if one could afford purchasing Exotech consistently then... WINNER: Exotech, hands down. P.S. I love theorycrafting, especially with another Shadow. Thank again for all of your advice!
  5. Here is what I purchase or have crafted for me by guildies. We run Nightmare Operations so we have most of these patterns, which the mats are easily obtainable. Exotech Attack Adrenal :: Increases Power by 535 for 15 seconds. Exotech Resolve Stim :: Increases Willpower by 128 and Power by 52 for 120 minutes. Exotech Fortitude Stim :: Increases Endurance by 128 and Defense by 52 for 120 minutes. I think what I meant to ask was that since I use all of these and plenty of them, is there any reason why I absolutely have to have Biochem besides to save credits?
  6. Wow, huge difference for sure! Certainly does make targeting melee much easier. I'm actually pretty stunned how amazing Resilience is for our class after the comments posted above. I've been saving Resilience for the removal of DOTs for the most part but, with the changes of DOTs not preventing tapping, the 100% damage reduction from Force and Tech powers is incredible!
  7. Now that my midnight release is over I can join in on the conversation! =) I agree with this completely. I don't really notice it too much when I'm playing so after thorough review, I've picked up on my biggest flaw. Whenever I use Telekinetic Throw, I have a tough time getting the target in front of me and struggle with the keyboard turning to accomplish the task. Which leads me into... This is what I'm going to work on the most. It will help with my targeting issue and should definitely minimize melee damage taken up front. I generally try to choose far away targets but most of my captured 1v1 I have so far are with melee classes. I'm definitely going to take this advice to heart. One of my biggest flaws is not doing enough research on my opponent's abilities. I've played Shadow throughout beta and have basically only played Shadow throughout retail release. One of my key lessons from focusing on PvP and reviewing my videos is that I really do not know what a lot of other classes can do, except for maybe Marauders and their obvious abilities. As one of the more active members of the Shadow community, I appreciate you taking the time to watch my video! However, I lead a very active PvE guild so my priorities right now are assuring I'm ready for 1.2's crew skill upgrades, which I will be a Synthweaver for. Just curious though: what is it about Biochem I absolutely need? Exotech adrenals and medpacks, which are the equivalent to Rakata, are not hard to provide mats for and I bring in plenty of credits to afford them. Is there something else I'm missing out on that the two WZ consumables do not provide?
  8. Thank you all for your comments thus far! Unfortunately, I am hosting an in-store midnight launch party for BioWare's other big franchise, Mass Effect 3, which means I can not give too many meaningful responses. I do play a bit slower than I would like, something I noticed when putting this video together. When you are in the heat of the moment, you think you're playing just fine. However, when you watch yourself you notice the little backpedals, the improper timing of abilities and many other mistakes that one would make as a new PvP junkie. I will, however, continue to make some more videos. I would like to grow as a player as much as I would like to grow with this community. With all of your helpful insights, it should be an easy road to get there. P.S. I do not have Biochem, but I do use stims, which should be a mandatory thing for PvP. As far as Biochem goes, however, I'm sure I could get by purchasing stims, adrenals, and medpacs in bulk with my ridiculous amount of slicing profit. We'll see what 1.2 will do for my Synthweaving before I decide where to go!
  9. Dusk - Jedi Shadow PvP <Temperance> of US-Anchorhead _______________________________________________ I've been playing these massive multiplayer games since the days of Ultima Online and Everquest, but this game has had many firsts for me. It was the first MMO I stepped into the role of a guild leader, conjuring up some of the best players I've played these games with over the past several years. It is the first time I've focused on more than PvE, diving deep down in the core mechanics of the PvP playstyle. It has now also become the very first time I've ever made any video for anything. Ever. After weeks of recording, I've finally pieced together a short video to simply share and have people enjoy! _______________________________________________ What You Will See A Bad Player I'm not a professional and I have not been doing hardcore PvP for very long. I make a ton of mistakes, play differently from many people, and probably only use half of my potential. However, I've made this video with the hopes that my errors are noticeable and that they can be changed. Mouse Clicks Uh-oh! But not really. I've been playing MMOs since the days of UO, utilizing both hotkeys as well as my mouse pointer. This is something I will more than likely never change, but I can guarantee that I can outperform most key binders! Terrible Video Editing This is my first time editing a video based off a game. This is my first time uploading a video to YouTube. This is my first time showing anyone how I play. Please take my editing with a grain of salt for I have not been doing it long and I will only get better, I promise! _______________________________________________ What You Will Not See Battlemaster Gear That's right. The purpose of me creating this video was to simply show the superiority of the Jedi Shadow class if played correctly. I've fought against Battlemasters and War Heroes alike with Centurion and Champion gear with ease. For all of you new level 50 Shadows who are struggling to stay alive in heavy fights, do not fear as your gear is not the end-all, be-all of your existence! Ilum I despise the very essence of Ilum. I rarely joined in on the valor farming zergs that 1.1 brought upon us. I go there simply to finish my daily and weekly and then usually end up leaving. However, after all of my recorded footage, I did throw in one Ilum bout that I hope you enjoy! Biochem Most hardcore PvP players I've met almost all have Biochem, utilizing reusable adrenals to produce big numbers and reusable medpacs to stay alive longer. I've even leveled Biochem to 400 myself once, but it is something you will not see in any of these videos. I try to stay off drugs! _______________________________________________ Questions, Comments, and Concerns I'm posting this video to better myself as a player, a video editor and, most importantly, to help out our community with some foresight as to what our class can accomplish. Please leave me any feedback, good or bad, and I will take it to heart and give you many praises! Without further ado... 10. And there lies the problem. Due to Imperial vs. Republic server balancing issues, this will almost always be. There is consistently 150+ Imperials to our 30 Republic players and, unfortunately, picking up scragglers standing around is the only way we'll be able to complete our dailies/weeklies on most servers. Like the above poster stated, Ilum has now become the only place to farm for Valor, on most servers, for Imperials, leaving Republic players to Warzones with long queues. I see where they are going with this, but they are being sloppy about it and creating more problems.
  11. And the perfect example. 86,000 Valor / 8 Hours = 10,500 Valor per hour Not game-breaking by any means, but a huge advancement not earned whatsoever. Player-versus-spawn point is not the same as player-versus-player, nor was it intended to be. ex·ploit /ik-sploit/ An exploit, in video games, is the use of a bug or design flaw by a player to their advantage in a manner not intended by the game's designers. So let's put this into perspective for all of you Warzone-loving naysayers. Let's say you play the perfect hour of Warzones, each taking 15 minutes in length between queues, wait times, and victory. This is completely unrealistic but, hey, you guys want to compare Warzones to Ilum yesterday. 1500 Valor per Winning WZ * Four 15-minute sessions = 6000 Valor per hour You guys can honestly say that yesterday, earning almost double the Valor without a fraction of the work, was justified in some way? The example above is only if you win... Those players should go unpunished while players who were ignorant to the situation, or just plain avoided it, should be left behind? A roll back, if this system is even in place by BioWare, is really the only favorable option. Note: I'm using this one example. There could be people who have earned more, people who have earned less.
  12. Best quote I've seen all day. To let this go without consequences would be to punish the players who chose not to exploit this "intended" feature. Going from 55 to 60 in Valor Rank is not an easy feat to do in normal circumstances, but to do it in four hours is undoubtedly erroneous. Instead of punishing the players who decided to exploit the update's flaws, the ones who chose to avoid Ilum, whether by ignorance or by sensibility, are the ones being punished. Something has to be done.
