I'm less in pvp than pve, obviously. pve 523 melee bonus with jedi knight buff 800 force bonus with jedi knight buff balance spec pvp 484 melee bonus with jedi knight buff 757 force bonus wtih buff about 633 expertise, adds 13% to damage, 12% reduction in damage but I must confess that I have done almost no pve in months except for the weekly black hole thing. No raiding obviously. And I've only occasionally pvped, so I have the war hero dbl light saber and force mystic ear, but don't yet have other war hero stuff. I'll prob get the focus off hand war hero thing next.
  2. I only look at comms received now. I'm on a server where you need to play during downtime -- or be in your guild premade -- to have any chance of a win over Imp premades. This has been exacerbated 1.2, because the Imps now generally outscore Republic groups and receive more comms at a ratio of about 2 or 3 to 1. Thus, the IMPs natural lead in gear has grown even worse since 1.2 and they are widening the gear disparity every day. For example, an imp on my server can get 100-125 comms per match by reeling off a long string of perhaps 10 to 20 straight victories against undergeared and shorthanded republics. In one multi-hour evening of play, that imp has gathered about 800-1000 ranked warzone coms. During the same period, the Republic player hasn't won any matches and certainly hasn't completed the daily quest, and thus has accumulated a total of maybe 200-300 warzone coms. At the end of a week, the imp has maybe 2 new 61 war hero items. By contrast, the Republic player is still only part way to acquiring his first war hero item. After a few weeks, the Imp has a full war hero suit. The Republic guy has one or two items IF he keeps pursuing this losing proposition. Anyway, at this point, I sometimes lead or nearly lead the damage boards on my shadow IF I have good healer support. But my ability to score well continues to be eroded by the ever increasing gear disparity.

  5. Very helpful, thanks. One question: When you move the 61 mods from a purple to an orange saber, do the force points automatically transfer too? I've never been clear on this. If they do, which mod carries those points, armoring? Thanks

  7. Thanks. Here's another q: I picked up the War Hero dbl saber yesterday. My sense was that the increase in melee damage from my BM saber (from 550 to 585 max) and the increase in force power (roughly37) would increase my damage input considerably. It doesn't. At least on the character sheet, my bonus melee damage went up only a few points, and is actually less than when I equip the champion sabler. it's a bit better for force attacks (a few points higher) but not nearly as much as I anticipated. What gives? p.s. I moved mods around too and improved the war hero item a bit, but still not enough to merit all the time I spent grinding WZs for coms to get it.
  8. If you remove all the mods from say a war hero weapon and move them to an orange augmented weapon, will the force power/tech power stat also transfer? If so, which mod carries that stat? Thanks.
  9. Jurugar: Could you address the optimal post 1.2 levels for balance shadow crit%, surge, etc? Also, now that parsers are available, I'd be interested in which you recommend and what a balance shadow should parse in ops, fps, against solos, group encounters. Thanks again.
  10. why 39% crit? thought 30 percent was ideal. Is 39% now the magic level after 1.2?

Has anyone run a parser or other test comparing dps in any context between: 1. orange augmented gear without any set bonuses 2. a 4 piece set of rakata or columni with the 15% double strike crit bonus? I'm considering switching to orange augmented gear while I try to get the new gear with armor mods that carry those bonuses.
  12. I'm balance killed a couple kinetic shadows yesterday in one on ones in Novare. It's not easy. If you stun and kite them, and mind crush whenever it procs, you can win.

  14. Here, I think, is the relevant question. Do you really feel like pvp'ing now, or is it a chore you feel like you need to do to get War Hero gear. Since last night, I just don't feel like doing it. It's a darn grind. Sure, I might get lucky and my guildmates might put another win streak together. That's fun. If that's possible, I'll play. But there is absolutely no reason on my server to participate with the current coms scoring system in a PUG group. Just purely a frustrating waste of time with no genuine reward. And if it's not fun, at this point, I will just let my kids play their low level alts and I'll do something different. I realize this means that I'll fall behind in getting ranked warzone coms and I may thus never get back into the swing of things. But why force myself to play?
  15. Do you realize there was an update YESTERDAY? Exactly how many "battles" did you play and loose" since then? None or very few if you think the system still gives you that many credits for a wz. I used to get tons of coms (80ish) even in losses and lots of money too, but the game HAS NOW CHANGED. Now, if you have a bad pug team you lose and don't even approach 55. In a close losing match you might get nearly 50, but more often you get 30-40. In a match that's not close (which is the norm on many servers), you are more likely to get 25 or zero.
