  11. It is part of the seer tree, to unspec it you'd have to change to balance / TK. The utility you're thinking of (telekenisis defence I believe)) has another awful effect too - for some reason the yellow bubble turns purplish. Combined, the two abilities are horrific. Would never use that utility simply because it looks so bad. It's already been posted that the combined effects look like this: https://gyazo.com/7361920385a31ff7368ab0cc853a3cf7 (The pulsating disco waves in the middle being the seer passive ability visual).
  12. Is there any way to remove the hideous and nauseating visual effect associated with the new 'soothing protection' passive for sage seers? (The ability which provides a heal after bubble finishes). I believe it is soothing protection anyway. This one visual effect has essentially stopped me from wanting to play my sage, which I've been using since (almost) launch. It is so bright and the general disco like movement of the 'waves' being emitted, (or whatever they are'), are so distracting it is impossible to ignore. I've never seen a visual effect like it in the game, it's just atrocious and seemingly completely unnecessary? Why is a visual effect needed on my sage because I've applied a bubble with some heal stacks? I'm a healer, I should be looking at the ops pane, (well how can you when there is disco sage in the middle of your screen), I know who has bubble and whatever effects on them or I'm not really doing my job.
  13. Attitudes in my guild range from just about tolerating the new system, to outright hating it and consequently unsubbing. Personally I think the system is utterly appalling. Across 3 toons I'm on a combined rank of about 55, so far I've had just 2 set bonus pieces and 6 relics. 3 of those relics were SA on the same toon, the other 3 were all reactive warding also all on one toon. Gee, thanks. I used to do a lot of the repetitive stuff (same old ops with nothing new for 2 yrs etc) and losing repeatedly in wzs because there was actually some reward. Some of the stuff like the empty shells is just insulting, to the point I assume some of the devs must be having a good laugh. I just cannot be bothered now, would rather go play something else. It's also a pain for other guild officers and myself as before the guild managed loot, to ensure it was evenly distributed and we knew who and which toons could be used for certain operations - now we have to constantly ask/check. There is pretty much nothing we can do other than crafting gear for people who are in our HM/NIM groups but don't play so often - and crafting just does not feel like a reward.
  14. I rarely write on these forums, but as a Guild Master of a guild which has (somehow) been around since launch, it is something I do care about. Bioware's dearth of group content and unwillingness to support guilds is seriously starting to impact upon my guild and it saddens me. This game is supposedly a MMO, therefore a core element of this should be community, which are often embodied as 'guilds'. My experience is that guilds cater towards one or more of these elements: 1) Social activities: ranging from organising conquests, to FPs which don't really require much at all. 2) PvP 3) Operations It seems to me that 2) PvP and 3) Operations are and have been almost entirely neglected. Arguably the days of the true PvP guilds have long faded into the dust with the removal of 8m Ranked. Four man arena ranked does not really need a guild to support it - I used to play it with a group comprised of three different guilds. Eight man however needed far more organisation and people seemed to care far more about the guild name they had above their head. Regardless, PvP as it was is long gone. Most of my friends disappeared over a year ago and the game and my opinion is warzones have descended into "who has the most sorcs" (providing those sorcs aren't notably poor players). But that is another story. For whatever reasons, and they could be debated at length, many of the core PvP player base who would even form a PvP guild no longer play. Bioware's inability to balance classes and release new wzs must be at the heart of this. (Come on, no-one I know likes Odessen, it's always met with a groan and unlike the other wzs, it's just a converted PVE area anyway). Then there are operations. I appreciate many people do not play operations, but undoubtedly it must be something many, if not most, PVE/social orientated guilds aim for. But there is nothing new to do, simply nothing. 10 minutes of tedious and uninspired single player story combined with 15 mins of killing endless skytroopers each month does not help guilds or community at all. It adds nothing, no group content has been attached to it at all that aids or requires a guild (again, Star Fortresses do not really need a guild at all). The 'new' (aka, recycled Battlemaster pack debacle) gearing system is not helpful to operations guilds either. There is a loot barrier to content (maybe not so much for some really good players ) and our loot rules help ensure our whole group is sufficiently geared for the required content. We know, through loot tables, all the loot someone has won on their characters through the guild, so we know 'where they stand' and we can gear them more quickly etc if they have not been around so much. This gear change will seriously punish our guildies who only log for 1-2 operations a week and that is it. We need many of these players, they're not interested in the rest of the game, but now we will not be able to gear them efficiently nor quickly. Without continually asking, we'll have no idea what a guildie's gear is like. What happens if we want to start TFB NIM, but our 8th player has just got his 7th bracers, but still no MH, OH or headpiece? There will be nothing the guild can do, we'll be held back because of bad luck. Ignoring the argument "what is the point in gearing again for the same old stuff anyway" debate , it's clearly just a thin attempt by the devs to string out the same old content, just with new 'barriers'. At least with the priority system, it was an excuse to do a 'fresh' ops every week which prevented the game from being too stale. Now we could just do EV HM every week, I mean, we've done the other content years ago anyway and I hate EC! It leaves the guild and its officers having to think of ways to engage our members and keep them playing. We can do conquests etc, but even they are getting old now. We have to create social nights and dwindling numbers means we have to chase people up to ensure we have an ops team. It presently feels that the officers and others in my guild are far more worthy of the £8-9 sub per month at keeping this guild together than Bioware. We have stayed together and run the guild because we have become friends and enjoy playing together, but there will eventually be a limit to our patience. Some guildies have already left to start playing WoW again, whilst others are so bored they've left just to play Pokémon... Bioware have said there will be a group content announcement in January, with a slight hint that this might include 8m/16m content. But Bioware should just be honest and tell us now if they are not intending to make a new operations in the foreseeable future, it is unfair to string my guild members along, paying all the way..., if there is going to be nothing. Jan is 2-3 months of subs away yet! It was promised after DF/DP the wait for ops would never be so long, well, that says it all. In essence, Bioware is neglecting content in this game which nurtures and grows guilds. There is only so much guild leaders/officers can do, I know other GMs have these concerns. We've watched 90% of other guilds fall apart, purely through our strong little community have we survived, certainly it is nothing in this game which is doing that - and it makes me genuinely sad. This is supposed to be a multiplayer game, if Bioware is so insistent on creating story content, I'd suggest they stopped with the current appalling story line and simply remaster KOTOR 1 & 2 and offer it as a freebie for subbing.
  15. These gearing changes have caused a fair number of concerns in my guild. As an ops based guild which has been around since launch, we are already seriously starting to struggle at times- maintaining people's interest in such old group content is challenging. The 10 minutes of tedious and uninspired storyline combined with 15 mins of killing skytroopers each month is no longer enough for many people to pay a sub. The general view in the guild is this is just an attempt to thinly hide the fact that we'll be regrinding new gear for the same operations. We'll simply be regrinding in a new way. Opinion is this time would be much better spent actually creating new MMO content rather than creating a 'new' system for something old. As they say, "Don't fix what ain't broke" and the gear system is one of the few things in this game which isn't particularly flawed There are number of notable concerns which need to be addressed: 1) The packs appear to be RNG based. RNG was removed from the Battlemaster pvp gear era for a reason. It's awful. RNG for any sort of gear is just, awful. There are absolutely no reasons to bring RNG back which would benefit the player - it's just another way for the devs to drag out the collection of gear, just as the priority ops slowed 224 (although this was a much better idea). 2) Apparently there will no longer be a way to quickly gear a new player in the guild - with people leaving all the time due to general boredom with the game, it's essential to be able to gear someone up quickly so we can get the group going again as quickly as possible. Currently we can run 2 ops and someone could almost full 220/4 in a night. Impossible to see how this will be the case now. 3) We need to know how CXP is awarded for ops. For completing the ops, or per boss? At the moment we have certain teams who can clear say, 4/5 in TFB HM/NIM, but they'll never get 5/5 unless we move some people around. Previously that would be 4(8) bits of gear, what now? 4) The system *seems* to require a lot more work on individual characters to get gear. We have many guildies with numerous alts in regular use. Currently they can just legacy gear over to a toon they'd like geared, but can't necessarily use that often. Will it be possible to earn enough loot on one character to create set bonuses for several other toons? 5) Loss of priority ops. At the moment, this is actually quite useful to the guild - it 'forces' us to alternate between a new ops every week, making things seem a little bit less stale than it really is. Presumably we'll just have to continue this rotation unofficially. A 'nominated' CXP ops every day doesn't very helpful, some OPs like SV need more than one day if we start late, etc etc. I've been subbed continuously since launch. These changes concern me a lot, they seem ill thought through - like many decisions in this game - just to string more out of the same old stuff. Combined with the ongoing saga of ridiculously easy to play/ overpowered sage/sorcerers everywhere, it starts to make me question why I am here. Quite honestly, it's the friends I've made in my guild which are keeping here, certainly not the game itself these days.
  16. Don't see any particular reason to make PVE and PVP gear the same...
  17. I sincerely hope these packs are not RNG based. They removed the awful Battlemaster pvp gear RNG which existed at the beginning of the game for good reason. Getting your 7th set of boots when you're yet to have a headpiece or gloves is extremely irritating.
