  1. I'm not one to make this kind of threads but honestly, this is probably a bit too silly IMHO...

You need to look at what they are doing big picture. This is going to give everyone 3-4 months of a free boost at lvl 50 to get all their toons to 55 before the large scale expansion launches and kicks the level cap up to 65.

  2. Initially I felt that 50mil was too much. I still sort of fill this way because the majority of guilds I have been in have 15-25 active members. Active, as in, sign in more than 2-3 times a week.

IMHO, guild ships should not be handed out and it shouldn't come down to a handful of guild members forking over the cost. It should be well distributed. So initially I felt 25 million would have been more apt. A decent guild of 25 people could all go farm daily areas 2-3 days and have 25 million. This would prevent forcing smaller or medium sized guilds from getting disbanded to form bigger guilds to get to 50 million. But with the increase of players that GSH and the Hutt type expansion will ultimately bring should improve population so that 50 million is not totally out of reach even for these medium sized guilds. I think the only guilds this will ultimately really hurt is those smaller groups of 10 friends hanging on to a failing guild.

If everyone is pitching in 2-3 million, it shouldn't be that bad. And if you can't participate with your guild to make 2-3 million then your guild needs to teach you how or frankly you're just lazy.

  3. The shards come from special Datacrons. You may recall in your adventuring finding the little glowing boxes out in the wild. Some of these have base stat boosts; i.e. +5 Endurance, or +3 Strength. Others provide a colored Matrix Shard. Various color combinations of the shards can be combined to award you with a Matrix Cube. The cubes are a type of Relic that can be equipped on your toon. They can be created for levels 15, 24, 32, and 50. If you have the spare time while leveling you can make the ones while you level. Otherwise, making one for level 50 will provide a very good relic item for your toon until you can get the better pve and pvp relics that are purchased from vendors with comms or drop in operations. The shards as well as the actual cube once you make it can be found in the key items tab of your inventory screen. Once you have the right colors you do a little quest at either the Jedi or Sith temple locations to compile the Matrix Cube.

You can follow this guide: http://www.swtor-spy.com/guides/matrix-cube-guide/1047/ to find the correct color combinations you need for your class type. For the level 50 cube there are different cubes for Force users (Jedi/Sith roles) and Tech users (Smugglers, Operatives, Troopers, and Bounty Hunters).

    Good luck!

  4. Hmmm, I've heard that it's better to use the actual pvp gear because you get bonus damage against other players. Anyway, where can i get good enough mods for orange gear? At the moment i'm wearing the trooper basic gear set (minus two implants the shield and two relics) so would that work once i finish the whole set?

You are confusing shells with mods. Shells are just the dress up item that makes your toon look like it's wearing a certain piece of clothing. Mods are the Armor, Mod, and Enhancement that plug into the shell.

You are right, in a player vs player scenario out in the world, you will get a defensive and offensive boost with pvp gear. So these guys in this post are not saying you don't need to wear pvp gear, they are saying you don't have to wear pvp shells. If you like the pvp shells, just augment those and continually swap in the new mods as they come out. Otherwise, augment a set of shells you like and swap in the mods you get from purchasing pvp gear.

  5. So you work to become the top 3 of your class on the whole server and you get a title? Bwwwwwwaaaaaaaaaahahahahhahahahah!

And that's not to mention that the reason we aren't getting gear or weapons is because this season was going to be much shorter and it's ended up being almost the exact same length of season 1. All that whooie about shorter seasons to make ranked better was just an excuse to not have to provide gear rewards.

Drop this in the trash bin that is overflowing with evidence that BW doesn't care about pvp. Full stop.

  6. Wasn't this supposed to be a shorter season? When will we find out rewards then?

Yes. They emphasized that the season would be shorter and because of that they wouldn't have time to do unique (recolored) gear sets and would only have 3 tiers. But in reality this season will end up being like two week shorter. And even though it will essentially be as long as the first season there will still be excuses for the amount of loot given out due to "time constraints". lol bioware...

  7. First stage: Denial.

No kidding. The new "Story of 2014" post indicates that new FPs will be released LEADING UP TO THE EXPANSION. That means the expansion will not be released at the same time as the third set of FP's. Stage 2 FP's released in 2.9, so surely that means Stage 3 FPs released in 3.0. Which means no expansion in 3.0. Which means no expansion in 2014.

  8. As stated in my guide in my sig (page 3) I ran KDY about 120-130 times this weekend running a toon from 10-50. A couple things I would point out. Doing this, or even any other method, still requires a boat load of credits. Just buying all my abilities from 10-50 and speeder license #2 and #3 ran me about 1mil credits. When you are leveling normally the cost is no different but you're constantly earning more money and it doesn't seem so high over a longer period of time. So you have to have this money upfront.

Another thing is that gear still matters. Yes you are bolstered, but the stats you have are also bolstered. So if you are geared properly, then those stats will be bolstered properly. You earn way more planetary comms in KDY that just normal questing. I generally (and did this time as well) go ahead and craft armorings/hilts/ears/implants/crystals roughly 10 levels apart (15, 21, 31, 39/41) and then buy mods and enhancements with planetary comms from the Supplies area planet vendors. But doing KDY I maxed planetary comms like 3 times. So I don't even know if you need to craft armoring, etc.

But that said, you definitely cannot be running even tactical fp's ungeared. You should have plenty of comms to throw mods in those slots in your empty shells.

  9. After experimenting with KDY this week I will probably rewrite some of this guide including this as a method.

The xp is much, much faster. This is not because there is more xp to be earned necessarily, but because there is little to no down time. You are constantly engaged in battle that earns XP rather than wasting time traveling on your speeder to a quest spot and then more traveling to turn in quests. If you can handle the repetitive nature of doing this over and over then you will get farther.

The typical DXP weekend is Friday-Sunday. So while I leveled a toon 50-55 earlier in the week through KDY, I tried to mirror this just under 3 days approach with KDY. So Fri/Sat/Mon I leveled a toon starting at lvl 10. But instead of my normal planet quest method used in the guide, I ONLY did KDY. I did sooo much KDY I completed every achievement with the exception of Rep side bosses and acquired about 150 blue rep items. Which means since these occassionally drop on Elites, I imagine I ran KDY somewhere between 120-130 times.

Suffice to say I really never want to see KDY again...but that xp is sooo good idk if it can be resisted. This was my 9th toon past 40, and my 8th to 50+. Of those toons I have only leveled 3 normally. So of the 5 I have leveled exclusively during DXP events for the majority of their leveling the best I have done with the method in the original post was 45 iirc. The others I made it to around 40-42.

Using KDY exclusively I made it to 50k from lvl 50 when DXP ended. So a few WZ's later I was 50, so let's just call it 50. From 45-50 the xp required runs from about 300k-450k. Let's just average that out at about 2mil xp over 5 levels. That means using KDY exclusively, I'd say playing somewhere between 5-8hrs a day you're going to get roughly 1.5-2mil more xp running KDY exclusively.

And let me point out one additional thing that I found to be really good news:

I found that this method taught me my class better than any other method I have tried. One major concern many vets have had about DXP weekends is that people level too fast and don't know their class. After testing the KDY method I tend to agree. Using the traditional method I feel like I've been resolved to just using a handful of abilities that are the hardest hitting. You move from a group of mobs to a group of mobs just spamming these abilities and move on.

But being in KDY you are forced to learn how to chain your abilities with their procs, work with your team, learn how to use your support abilities and learn situational awareness with your abilities. This forced group dynamic over hours and hours of play is essentially a cram session that forces you to learn your job. Just as a comparison doing the traditional method last DXP event with a Merc I really have no idea how to play Merc. Doing the KDY method with my Madness Sorc, I am very confident in my knowledge of the class, what I should be doing, how to rotate and use my procs and support my team.

In the end, if you can deal with the massive boredom and repition involved with the KDY method, the value proposition compared to traditional speed leveling during a DXP event is very apparent.

  10. Because it would be a waste for almost the entire european server population?

And a good sized chunk of the north american one too (since basically anyone not in europe or western asia play on the NA servers).

I don't get why americans think that 4th of july is a world wide celebration...

Where did the OP say that? Why can't an American company celebrate an American holiday?

I don't get why foreigners think that American companies shouldn't be able to celebrate American holidays because their product is international. I played FFXI for 7 years and they regularly implemented events based on Japanese hoildays. And you know what? We American foreigners didn't whine and say, "Why do they have Japanese events based on Japanese holidays when over half the population is European and American. Q Q" We all jumped into the Japanese holiday event to experience something that was foreign to us that we could learn about and had fun.

I'm sooooo sorry for our liberation from monarchy that became a model for 90% of the world....
